I am happy to see him get bodied and I hope this becomes the new normal going forward. There are a lot of us who are sick and tired of him being such a public figure in the FGC.

To each their own. I’ve never been one to bask in the defeat of others, unless that defeat was my doing. Because I don’t gain anything from it, so what’s the point?

So I have sports teams that I don’t like and would like to see lose by on a personal level? Nah, not really. I’ve never understood that mindset, especially when it comes to someone like fox, who while he talks a lot of shit he can usually back it up.

I love Sonic like lungs love air, but it's probably good for the balance of the universe that he gets murdered every so often. Like when Nemo killed the entire MVC3 scene a few years back with just Rocket Raccoon's Log Trap. If all you ever get from your top guy is arrogance and trolling and he never gets knocked down, it'd be a big deterrent for a lot of people.
Like hot garbage rappers who tell you "oh you're just a haterrrrr lulz" whenever you tell them their music is garbage. They need to be humbled for the good of everyone, so other aspiring souls don't see that and get turned off like a lamp and never wanna go near it. He's a god, but if Japan/Korea and the like fucked with NRS games like they do DBFZ/Capcom/Tekken, everyone on his level would be just another player.

I agree that the highest level anime players, especially the few top level japanese competitors who have actually put their own game aside for a little to pick up this game seriously, are just FLAT OUT playing at a higher level than Sonic. DBFZ being the lowest skillcap anime fighter yet still leaves it at a much more difficult game to master than any of these 2D fighters out there, and I think anime players are just better as it currently stands, after years of experience at the genre at the highest level. This really shouldn't be that controversial or outlandish a statement to make, so I hope nobody is taking that too hard.


However what I DON'T know, is how someone can turn Sonic losing here, into a victory for Capcom scene being higher skilled and having the better game. Sonic beat all the Capcom players too you dope and still lost here, Capcom players aren't even in the running on this, thats just another L for that scene.

When G01 won at a local in Japan he took the mic and called out Sonic.. by saying "Your Next"... all Sonic did was respond and accept the challenge. Pretty simple, and not a trace of bad manures.. in fact it would be lame if he didn't respond.

The idea that any of these players are bad, or weak or whatever is idiotic. I have Shazzy blocked - I STRONGLY recommend others follows suit. He's not worth the bandwidth required to load whatever horseshit he's spouted.

Anyway. Sonic is bonkers. Go1 is extra bonkers. I was personally happy to see Sonic lose simply because I think it makes for a more interesting narrative.. and I want there to be a broad level of potential competitors at tournaments and in discussions. That said, Losers Bracket Sonic is something else entirely, and Go1 winning has very likely made Sonic more terrifying and more dangerous than he was already. If Sonic has a defining competitive characteristic, aside from his raw skill - its his ability to bounce back stronger than before.

This ft10 was good for the FGC as a whole, and we need more of this stuff.
