Tekken 7 General Discussion Thread - OP Updated With All Tekken Info

NaCl man

Welcome to Akihabara
I just bought my Hitbox, today. I'm very excited to use it for this game. I'm still having a blast having the game, Akuma has just taken over my time in this game. I don't know why but his inputs and playstyle just keep entertained for hours. I guess it helps that he's one of my favorite fighting game characters of all-time, possibly my favorite.

What do you guys think about a possible T7:AE? A waste of time or a worthwhile installment? Overhauling the games online wasn't a frugal endeavor for Harada and the crew and this game is pretty healthy. But it does need some type of news either a new character/items or mechanic.
The console version is the updated version of t7. The game has been out since 2015

I'd like to see them get Noctis out before hell freezes over and we all die. New customization items are always nice.. but I dont think any real overhaul is needed. Tekken doesnt seem to work that way, its so invested in its legacy play that an overhaul would likely piss people off more than anything.

In a perfect world, online improvements are always welcome. More customization items would be nice. Noctis. And if we're talking genuine wishlist? I'd like to see a couple MINOR balance tweaks - and I'm not saying that for my own success rate, but because its healthy for the tournament scene. There have been some nice new additions to various top 8's but solidifying the trend by making some characters a little less "better" would be nice.
I would say the only minor tweeks it needs is better hurt boxes on them damn bears lol.

It's all so very confusing.

Dude,

Fuck.
Those.
Bears.

Honestly. Nothing infuriates me than them. I don't care how good they are or aren't or whatever.. I do care when I lose because they are so fucking wonky and awkward things miss that absolutely shouldn't, they hit you when they absolutely shouldn't and there's no way to know where on the screen they ACTUALLY are due to how broken the hit and hurtboxes come across. They're just a damn mess. Doesn't help that they do immense damage too. Dunno how many times I've been running the round, and get touched twice and it's evened up.

Luckily you almost never see them.. I play a guy who pockets them occasionally so I deal with them a few sets a week and that's more than enough.

I worded my post poorly in regards to overhaul remark. I was referring to the network update they did for the PS4 version. Perhaps that took away resources for customization or other things for the games. What we really need is some Tekken Bowling Buffs. :DOGE

Who's watching Strongstyles, today?

RIGHT!? They're fucking re-tarded! I thought it was just me, but when i was practicing multiple combos with multiple characters on the bears, there were constant inconsistencies so i knew something with their design was hella off. But yes, THANK GAWD they're not common online, especially in the higher ranks. DAMN i need to play this game more, but uuuuugh dbfz tho....!

Saint is here in Brazil for a championship tomorrow. In a friendly 3on3 team tournament today, my team has just eliminated him [he played alone, could lose 3 times]. So proud!

Tomorrow will be the individual championship, I send stream link here

Damn, I need to get back into this game. Miss playing my Eddie. But did you guys hear the news ?Question mark? PG Hayatei just announced he's learning Tekken and is using Lee. VERY interesting ;)

"been learning tekken it's really hard but I'm enjoying the challenge!! grinding ranked makes me wish NRS had the same kind of system instead of what Inj2 has now"

Interesting. I can absolutely see him as a Lee player. I feel bad for sidelining Tekken but DBFz is too damn fun right now.. but I do need to make time for Tekken

He does like fast characters such as Robin, but Lee doesn't have that many fast mix-ups. But he is a good start to learn the fundamentals of the game. And SAME AS FUCK! I need to make more time for this game as well. Although i LOOOOOVE DBFZ, I think Tekken is still my best game.

I decided to try hitting TNT-JU using the analog stick on 1p side. Within 5 minutes I had my first ever and was able to land several. This made me realize that I must be off quite a bit on the speed of the input on D-pad. I think my neutral JU is between i17-i18 on D-pad and that's as good as it's ever going to get most likely. The TJU looks and feels so clean and fast when doing it with the analog stick.

I also started practicing legit KBDC to be able to play Bryan properly on 2p. Sometimes I wonder if this is a waste of time and should I just get a stick or a hitbox. This one dude I play with plays on a hitbox and his movement is godlike.

At the end of the day though I think I am too far invested in playing on a pad. In a tournament setting I'd play Heihachi over Bryan anyway as he is easier to play IMO and requires the use of fewer moves and less situational and match-up specific awareness. I can also just reverse wavedash BD and have good movement that way. Hei's f3 is braindead, his df1 series is braindead, his oki is braindead. D1 beats everything except teching after f2,3 and cd4,4,1 ender, once they tech, just run up and crouch into full crouch sweep or stand up into f4 and it's a legit 50/50 that can't be avoided or fuzzied on tech rolls.

TJU is so hype. Ive been watching knee and jimmy j tran and bryan is such a sick character. Knee at evo japan with all those taunt cancels at the wall was soooo sick.

With the stick and pad problem im in the same boat. My movement is better on pad but hitting the tight link stuff like ch df2 PEWGF is heaps easier on stick. Im bouncing between the two atm.
