I'm honestly kind of indifferent about the remaster because I already played DS1 to death on Xbox, and knowing remasters this is likely going to just be Dark Souls 1 with a couple inprovements, but no new content / changes to gameplay or areas. If you're fine with that then go for it,but I'm likely skipping this until maybe a sale.
I can understand that.
My PS3 died on me shortly after I purchased my PS4 a few years back, so this is personally exciting to me because I have been dying to go back and play the game, but am unable to. It's been a long time, and DS1 was by far the deepest and most creative of the series (Bloodborne being the most polished and refined, before I accidentally start a shitstorm).
The remaster aspects themself don't mean much to me, outside of their potential practical implications. DS1 had horrible graphics, but nobody noticed or gave a shit because the artwork was so great (a lesson developers of other games would do well to learn.)
It would be cool if they added a brand new hidden area or something, but outside of that highly unlikely exception the game should remain exactly the same.
It's also a big deal for those of us who have been anxious to introduce friends to the series, but hesitant to recommend they begin at DS2 or 3.
