Alternative Versions of Raptor's Corner 50/50 for Sub-Zero

2 weeks ago, Raptor made a video of a Left/Right Corner 50/50 for Sub-Zero as you can see here:

I've checked it in the lab and I've found some alternative versions to this 50/50. In addition to jump backwards before jumping forwards for a FJ2, you can also go for NJ2, before you go for the second jump attack (either a CJ2 or FJ3), which I personally find easier to and more consistent to do. Also notice that for both Jump 2 attacks and both 50/50 changer jump attacks, I've added another version with the B233 String as the ender, as it will deal less damage, but it since it was in Juggle state, it will prevent the opponent to do a Tech Roll afterwards as it causes a hard knockdown, adding even more layers to this 50/50.

At mid-screen, yes both the FJ2 and FJ3 should hit Cross-Up, but because the opponent is in the corner, the FJ3 will cause the opponent to fall backwards while also staying in the corner, which will keep Sub-Zero in front, so the Mixup is the front option of FJ3, or the Cross-Up option of FJ2, thus creating a Left/Right 50/50 (depending on the corner you are of course). As for the NJ2, I just added as an extra option to the FJ2 (the one before you go either FJ3 or a second FJ2) as IMO it's easier and more consistent to do.

When you reset using the neutral jump, there is no 50/50 as all options hit crossup. That’s what I was saying.

But when I jump backwards and then jump forward instead of doing an NJ, I still get the Cross-Up notion, all options for both jumps after the first Polar Puncture hit Cross-Up, and all lead to the same result depending of if I do FJ2 or FJ3, thus I get a 50/50.

I just saw that, but in Raptor's video, during the last time he showed the FJ3 option, the Cross-Up notification did come up as well.

Yes. The j3 hits crossup. The j2 hits front on. It’s a left/right mixup. That’s the point.

If they both hit front on or both hit crossup there wouldn’t be a mixup. Because you’d just block both the same way.

How do you do it bro? Well if you notice in the video, its all about the movement you do after the dash forward. I won't say anything specific because I'm not about to discuss feet step measurements or shit like that lol, but feel free to experiment with it.

How do you escape tho?- Either guess, maybe possibly react to subs movement and judge where the j3 hits , or dash backwards for same side j3, or dash forwards for crossup j3. If you guess wrong on the dashes, you'll get hit tho, so basically a 50 50 both ways.

But the thing is that I did notice the movement of Sub in your vid, as during the first option, you did one step backwards after the forward dash and before hitting the NJ2, so that means you can see the 50/50 coming way before the FJ3. Of course less experienced players probably won't notice that, but if I can see it in after only like a couple of views (and my tech game is good, thank you, all I did was just one mistake) that it will be a lot easier to exploit in the long run. You basically decide to either stay in place or move backward, then go for NJ2, and ONLY AFTER THAT go for the FJ3 which will have it's hit properties changed depending on your movement earlier. Of course you still need to make the read/guess, but the real read/guess comes in the movement a couple of seconds before the actual hit, then it probably will not be that hard to counter that. Just my 2 cents here.

I admit it took me longer to figure this one out, but I think I got it. I noticed at first that on the first scenario, Superman's feet were on the brown border of the circle while on the second one his feet were at the edge of the border but still inside the circle. Then I noticed that on the first scenario, Sub-Zero's feet were outside the circle before you input the Polar Puncture with only his toes touching the border, and on the second one, his entire feet was on the border of the circle. So what you did was moving just a tiny further before you input the PP Command Grab, that's how you managed to change the hit properties of the FJ3 at the end.

Also just out of curiosity, who is that Joe Schmo guy?

Ok after you explained that to me I now see the that you indeed stepped forward a bit more before the NJ2 in the 2nd scenario and that's how you got the mixup. Great one bro
