Tekken 7 General Discussion Thread - OP Updated With All Tekken Info

Unless you have no other option, everybody plays Tekken 7 on PC it's just better by miles than PS4/PS4Pro version.
Well, I'm aware of it. I play PS4, but considering getting PC version, too, later. Not gonna use the online stuff due of the problems it has. I play it just for training and to be ready for the local tourney later.

1) How to avoid the throws? I noticed that my buddy avoided the throws.
2) Any way to get away from the walls, when down? Thanks to this, I'm being OKI'ed.
3) How do you deal against the rising uppercuts? I have seen that they're a low attack to high, but I need to work with my low guard.

Any tips would be appreciated. I need to improve myself here as soon as possible. Finished training with Eddy, and my next training is with Lucky Chloe.
#1 - there are actually quite a few ways of dealing with throws. The most consistent method is to learn how to break them (disclaimer: I'm not actually too great at doing it myself!) Under the vast majority of circumstances, there's no guessing game involved, and it's just a question of reacting to the pre-throw grab animation.

If their left arm is in front while grabbing, press 1 to escape. If their right arm is in front, press 2. If both are at the same level, press 1+2. As long as you're reasonably quick, with some practice you should be able to do it on reaction.

That said, this isn't the only way to deal with them. If you fancy a high-risk high-reward tactic, if you read a throw you can crouch it (the vast majority of throws hit 'high') and then WS launch. Other potential options are to use a tech crouch attack (ideally one that's safe on block) or maybe a tech jump attack (watch out for characters with air throws!)

Throws also don't tend to have huge range, so if you're struggling to break them spacing outside of their reach is also an option.

#2 - in all honesty, prevention is better than cure here. I won't sugarcoat it, it's always a guessing game firmly not in your favour. You basically just need to mix-up between blocking high, blocking low and tech rolling as unpredictably as possible, and hopefully you won't get hit. Hopefully...

#3 - Are you referring to f,n,d, df+2 here? Or f,n,d, df+4,1?

1.Thanks for the detailed explanation about the anti-throw techs. I noticed that the throws do not work against jumping opponents. Will be sure to look out for the AA chars.

2.I usually do the Korean walking to avoid myself from getting cornered.

3. I'm referring to DF2 (uppercut punch). Noticed Bryant doing this. As Eddy I have other uppercut stuff, like B33, or DF3+4, or DF3 (when negative down). I'm having a hard time with the uppercut punches and kicks, so I'm not using them much. I was trying to block low when the match starts, but it keeps connecting on.

Gesse is a much better pick than Kazuma Kiryu IMO.

The next spot its not going to be a projectile character, though i think having to deal with 3 of them already is too much, so expect someone from a 3D game.

Also, i know my way very well around Gesse since i'm an old guy might actually be able to school you guys with some of the stuffs he has on release, definitely will try him up and make a few breakdowns.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for that as well. Just played as him a few weeks ago on my busted PS2.

I'm really excited to see Geese. Tekken can always use more thugs. But the pick of Geese Howard is super interesting.

Normalize grab immunity.
He is from Fatal Fury and King of Fighters fighting games. He is the archenemy of Terry Bogard. He was the final boss in Fatal Fury. Look it up. Lol
Don't forget father to Rock Howard who is such a fan favorite he is DLC on 14. Geese does it all.

Rock Howard? I might have fallen in the times of Fatal Fury 2. After this game I never followed the next games, since I have never heard anything about them since that time.

Now, who's in relationship with Geese and made Rock?

When Terry defeated Geese in Fatal Fury and he jumped off the tower, there was actually a little kid there, so Terry felt responsible for killing his father, so Terry raised him.

Rock Fighting style its a mix of Terry and Geese powers and abilities. Many ppl wanted Rock instead, but he i think Geese is well fitting, just hope the DLC1 its a 3D fighting game character (looking at u Akira Yuki)

Makes sense. I was a 8 to 10 years kid (or more) when I played this game. Been a while. Now I'm 33. I might haven't noticed him, when I played FF. Used to play Joe Higashi and Terry Bogard.
