Street Fighter V General Discussion

Normalize grab immunity.
Damn I just got off. I need to play this game more. I would say play who you are most interested in or who fits how you like to play. I main cammy. She's always been my favorite from sf series. Although ibuki is my secondary and I'll learn her once I get cammy down
I'm not a SF guy but all the characters I fucked with in 4 aren't here. I'm hoping season 2 gives me someone I truly fuck with. Might be Helena which just means I'll hate myself every time I play the game.

From your list I'd probably go with akuma and Urien. Yup. Definitely those two.
Nah I don't want a character with a ton of great options. This is SFV, if I'm not relying on stubby medium medium frame traps it doesn't feel right.

Bison and like.. FANG. Just cause we have no FANGs and Bison is dope.. But Juri is probably deeper and more fun. Balrog is amazing, Im going back to maining him myself. Im looking for a secondary. I thought necalli but honestly? I might sell out and go Urien.
Hhhmm I haven't put much time into those two recently since I've been practicing Cammy. Both of those characters fun

It's all so very confusing.
Birdie and its users are the scum of the earth.

I like how you don't even call him 'he', you refer to Birdie as an 'it' LOL.

I think I'ma play some Urien today. Vtrigger combo-less Urien, cause I'm too lazy to practice ATM. I do have the Vidya Rushdown made should I decide to me productive.

I've learned that I don't neutral gud, and like I am prone to do, instead of learning to neutral gud I will just play characters that neutral gud automatically or ignore it entirely. Balrog does this. Urien does this. Today I am going to neutral gud on Urien .

I also want everyone to know that whenever I am winning in the neutral I am quietly whispering the word 'footsies' over and over again as I mash.

I just woke up and as such my hands are curled in to claws. Typing this on my phone is a one button affair. I'ma take my arthritis meds and do my hand exercises and make my coffee, then I'm down for some games.

Bro what the fuck, he looks way too good?!
Does he actually have any unfavourable match ups ?
Also keep in mind, as Rushdown said, that was SEASON ONE Urien. He was BUFFED, pretty heavily, in S2.

I'm not a Urien main, so I cant say 100%, but I don't think he has any bad MUs and if he does, they aren't bad in a 6/4 way. I just don't see how they could be. His only weakness that I know of is his AA game isn't braindead. Even still its very strong, and he benefits from excellent damage when he lands a cr.hp AA. If you get in close enough and jump so that you're on top of his head, he doesnt have that space covered unless he jumps and challenged you in the air, but all other approaches he has covered and a good Urien will not only AA you, but he will chunk the shit out of you when he does. Cr.hp and F.mp are good AA's, Ive seen st.lp used, he has an air fireball he can hold and charge to goof your timing some, etc. I could see, like, Rashid, doing work by jumping when up close, but Rashid's got to GET up close first and even then, a good read on a jump and he can back dash and Cr.hp you, etc. All in all, I dont think AAing is actually the weakness people claim it is, I think its just that his AA game isnt as incredible and top tier as the other aspects of his play.

There is a really good chance he'll get adjusted in the hinted-a Spring patch, but if he does, honestly I hope its minor. He doesnt need the kind of health he has and Ex Shoulder needs something. Other than that, *shrug*. I dont mind characters being really strong, just tone down the dumb shit.

I say this having decided to re-main Balrog, so maybe Im projecting.. but shrug.

Well I mean it IS a compilation so it makes him look good. That being said he is VERY strong. He's got season one Mika syndrome though we're any matchup that you could call losing instantly becomes winning once aegis reflector is out. It's easily the strongest move in the game and using it comes at little to no risk. As crazy as it sounds though he's not alone at the top of the tier list there are a few characters that can compete evenly with him. Laura, Rog, Cammy, and guile come to mind.

I dunno how to balance him honestly. Nothing about him is broken except for aegis, and you can't really change that cause it's his whole character. Short of dmg/hp nerfs I'm not sure what to change. I think giving him less time to put out his second reflector would be smart though, I can hold it for too long and it's too threatening in neutral.

Rog is insane. I feel like Rog is actually mostly balanced until you have trigger and two bars. Dash punch is very strong, but a well timed jump and he eats a full combo - and you can catch him coming in some times, etc. His normals are mostly short/medium and have excellent frame data, but they kinda should. Boxer and all that. No crossup so he needs to be able to pressure and open you up. Make a mistake with a TC or the like though and hes very negative. He should have a lot of health. Low dash is susceptible to the same thing reg is (jump it) Only you can blow him up on block, etc,

He becomes over the top when you realize he can do 534 damage for two bars while in trigger. That's what makes Rog so ridiculous IMO is that you can lose.. and lose. and lose. and keep losing. And still win. You can outplay me 85% of the round and if I land a Vtrigger combo, Im back in it.

Rog benefits more from the input delay than any character in the game imo. i remember in 4 how the matchup was more fun just because if I was looking for dash punch and he did it, I could stop it. I just dislike how easy of an option it is to get in I guess.

Possibly make his trigger harder to gain? Id really want to be super careful about nerfing how Aegis works, cause its the whole 'point' of Urien. I dont think he needs much. His health isn't huge deal its just unnecessary and Ex shoulder maybe shouldnt do what it does, BUT I think I read or heard somewhere that its not as real as it appears, people just dont know how to deal with it (Im talking about Ex Shoulder into reflector cancels and such and I dont know that cr.mk should be +2 with that kinda range, but then again, maybe it does. Its heardly earth shattering.

So, Pull back 25 health, scale his damage a little bit. Or keep damage and health the same and fiddle with some frames and make his reflector harder to gain? Shrug. or Just leave him and everyone alone and let us deal with it. lol.

I dont disagree at all. A good Rog (ie, not me) isnt going to rush punch from a range you can react to, so its gotta be a bit of a read... and even then, I can do Screw and catch your jump attempt and that *might* juggle.

Sure, I am from the UK so hopefully the connection is alright.
Shit, I forgot about that.. It wont be. Ive tried a handful of times to play people from across the pond and its a disaster each time.

We can still try though, throw me an invite if you want. EntropicByDesign is my CFn.

@JJvercetti

Too much lagg man,., Sorry for all these throws, i cant land anything else, lol. GGs, but its too jumpy, Im just mashing. I wasnt trying to be a bitch and dip out on a win like that, but I couldnt go another three rounds, lol. Well, not win, but you know what I mean.

I don't think Rashid is bad for 'Gief at all. He's not keeping him out with tornado shots and has to be careful with his pressure options. Especially when 'Gief has stocked meter.
