Japan thinks Rashid is top 3. Thoughts?
Who said that? All of Japan can't possibly think that. He got some nice buffs in S2 but he also got plenty of nerfs to keep him grounded. He's very good now and tournament viable, but I doubt he's even top 5.

Most recently, Tokido and Mago. They both had him at #2 overall. Nemo thinks he's top 5, too. I think he's solid as hell and fun to play, but definitely not top 5. I'd peg him at top 10, sure.

It's all so very confusing.

Wow. Super wow.

I dunno about that personally. I firmly believe top 10, I could totally see top 8 even but 5 or 3.. I mean to be three he has to be better than some really amazing characters.

Now interestingly enough there is a video on Shoryuken of Gatchikun vs Daigo and it's notable in that Gatchikun is playing Ryushid and not Rashid. He had Rashid moments and pressure but a HUGE amount of the game is spent at a very careful distance playing s1 Ryu. Poke fireball, reposition, poke fireball reposition. Even when he earns his way in he's not going too crazy, but just focusing on block strings and grey life and pressure over going crazy with mix-ups. He even uses his trigger raw almost every time to reset the neutral or enforce his positioning rather than holding it for flashy combos and silly Rashid stuff. It's boring but it's boring in that beautiful technical way that Daigo is boring. It's interesting because it's obviously effective and it's very different from the semi-manic Rashid you usually see.

By no means does this make me think he's top 3/5 but it does give me a pause and make me think he's a far deeper character than either we all knew, or than his s1 counterpart.

Is that the video where rashid goes 3-0 against Daigo's ryu?

Quick question, if an attack is lower body invincible (Necalli mp uppercut) does that make it their optimal anti air? I seem to be interrupted alot...

That's just the best way for Rashid to play the Ryu matchup. Ryu can't throw fireballs from a certain distance because Rashid can roll kick under them. Rashid can throw whirlwind shots from outside jump distance at little to no risk. It just makes sense for Rashid to play lame in that MU. Also, Rashid probably has slight advantage in that MU.

Anyway to stop CA from coming out when I uppercut? If I ever try to uppercut anti air with Necalli or Akuma and I have full bar CA comes out and its super frustrating. I'm not even mashing I'm just inputing fddf from a block state

Ya Rashid is really good. But I just cannot countenanced him being top 5 over characters like Urien, Laura, Cammy, Balrog etc.

I really enjoy playing him though and I liked seeing him played lame, it was impressive imo.

If your getting CA then your probably going forward, down, down forward, forward. You need to make sure you end on the DF motion of the DP and not rotate all the way back to F again, it sees that as a shortcut. Essentially what you're probably doing is F, QCF + Button when you of course just need to go Forward, down, DF. It's also possible your dragging your inputs after the initial forward, causing you to catch a diagonal input when you go from Forward to down. So it looks something like:

F, DF, D, DF, F

as opposed to

F, D, DF

I'd recommend going in to training mode and practicing where you can see your inputs. The only issue with that is it's easier to be conscious and clean in training mode than it is in a real match, but if there is a glaring problem it should be visible in training mode.

When you block Ken's or ryu's hurricane kick I know they're punishable, but at what point exactly do you press buttons to punish them? Immediately after you block? After they stop spinning? When? Also do you crouch block or stand block?
I meant to reply to this earlier. IMO the best way to figure out when/how to punish it is to go on to training mode and record the dummy doing the strength tatsu you want to punish and then blocking as soon as he's able to afterwards.. then just block it and practice timing your punishes accordingly.

No. all air attacks hit upper body so lower body is useless. That means lows will whiff if you use it on wakeup or vs grounded pokes.

Hp dp is necallis aa dp unless you wanna ex.

Omfg that explains so much I'm an idiot. I was told by so many people mp dp is his best anti air but I always get stuffed. This will help so much

Mp dp is usually a shotos best dp invincibility wise so they were probably just confused. Or behind on the season 2 changes.

I don't feel I'm getting better at this game. I only lose. No exaggeration. Whether the player is good bad shitty laggy fucking anything I lose. I wanna stop playing just cause I'm flat out not having fun anymore.
