Sutter Pain

Your mothers main.
Ggs dude fuckin scurred me i gtg though play me again another time I need to learn how to fight this dude
Yeah ggs man once you learn to go controlled ape shit with rashid you will rape me his speed and pressure are nuts. Well if we get a couple more sets in you will get the hang of fighting sim but one thing seriously just jump at me more its in your favor even if you eat a couple AA's. I knew you had to go at 12 so no worries man.

When you block Ken's or ryu's hurricane kick I know they're punishable, but at what point exactly do you press buttons to punish them? Immediately after you block? After they stop spinning? When? Also do you crouch block or stand block?

@EntropicByDesign
Hey you've said a couple of times that your execution is bad etc. would you have any footage of you playing? Because I can almost guarantee you're a way better player than me so I'm just curious to see your play.

Immediately after they stop spinning. If you try to push a button while you're blocking, you'll still block but chances are you'll fuck up your input for a punish. For ryu, I generally just stand block in case they do HK tatsu and try to go over me. Ken's HK tatsu I just duck and try to do a jump in whiff punish. Not sure about Akuma

It's all so very confusing.
Yea, on paper every character might look great but in matches she seems to really struggle with her normals honestly. But yea I suck so that might be only me.

I'm not saying her neutral is easy, I'm just listing tools and how I see them used by high level players, I'm not speaking from personal experience. She def does have short normals, but she has ways in to make that irrelevant that's all I was getting at.

And I'm sorry if my 15 page essays are annoying but I just try to explain why I think/feel a certain way rather than just saying LUL CAMMY BEST FIREBALL Lil or stating a random opinion and moving on without backing it up with my reasons, that's all.

I don't know..I think CFN might save replays or something maybe you could search for my name (same as my name here) on the CFN network and watch my matches.. maybe. If you do, look for my matches vs Rushdown not my ranked matches if you're looking for how I kinda actually play. when I'm playing ranked right now I'm not playing so much as practising.. so I go in with an agenda (practice AAs. Work on meaty timing. Try to guess when Ken WONT do, since when he will is obvious, it's always) etc.

Or we could play a set any time you'd like? =)

I don't play online too much because my internet is trash, for reasons im connected on wifi but yea I think you might be too harsh on your skill level. I'm pretty sure you're better than what you give yourself credit.

Im just speaking for the matches Ive watched played, since I dont play her to any degree.. but she can do so much. st.mp is an amazing AA, or her AA grab when possible. If she gets a little room and can get a fireball out she can advance behind it, jump, sweep, crossup jump, catch YOU jumping with her AA grab.. She has a great low confirm into elbow thats negative on block but safe and puts her point blank, good range on the cr.mk too. ex shoulder has armor to get her in range of her normals and when she is. st.mk is disgusting 5f startup deceptive range, combos into jab into light elbow which starts her silliness (+2), Its -2ob according to my phone app but I see her spam the shit out of it and no one ever seems to challenge. st.lk is +3 ob, so is st.mp. St.hk has great range and is an excellent, straightforward CC button.. She has one of the highest damage, practical whiff punish normals in the game in F.HP, you can react with it to punish whiffed normals from a pretty crazy distance, hit confirm it into itself for the TC and end with her AA grab for like either 265 or 285 damage. Its a lot for the range and utility. Her OH is slow as christmas, but in trigger its like .. +1? and has great range and will CC. Her command dashes are amazing for baiting and couple that with her f.hp and its super dangerous, couple it with the fact she gets meaty pressure off of literally everything she has that can knock you down.. and you have a character who doesnt *want* to play neutral but still has a tool for almost any range or situation and numerous ways in to her kill zone.

So thats why I think she has good neutral. She doesnt really want to play neutral, but she can handle herself from most reasonable ranges and has ways in through fireballs and zoning, long range normals and the like.

Just my opinion, but when I see laura's in the neutral I dont feel like I see them struggling to hold up and bleeding a ton of life just to get her point blank offense going. I think as the season progresses the REALLY dangerous lauras are going to be the ones who use and abuse her tools in neutral and dont always go straight in for the guessing games.
I can see why you would say the above, but I think Lauras neutral is pretty weak to be honest. A lot of the things you mention above are not as good as they seem. For example, on the fireball - most characters will not let you charge that in neutral. Of the characters I play - Birdie can punish with ex dolphin dive on reaction, Vega can slide on reaction, Necalli can v skill on reaction, and Alex can nullify with chop. Her anti airs are probably above average but unlike some other characters she has bunch of angles she can't cover well - empty jumps can get her to whiff for example. Her longer buttons also have to be thrown out preemptively and generally cannot be used for reactionary whiff punishes. For example f hp has 18 frames of startup - no way you are reacting to anything with that. Throwing them out is a risk against good players because they can be whiff punished pretty badly due to high recovery.

Overall I think she has to take a lot of risks in neutral and also benefits a lot from online lag which makes things like v skill forward into buttons way better than it should be.

Her mixups are definitely where she shines. You basically never get the chance to mixup back tech and quick tech against here because she can nearly always end in a grab knockdown, and her meaty timings are super autopilot and very hard to mess up if you practice them at all.

I beat my first Dhalsim and I made an almost full life comeback against Ryu yesterday. It was a good day until I tried to fight in ranked.

LOL. You think I'm talking tough, but it doesn't mean the same to you as it does to me. I miss having that love. Back when it mattered to me, winning at the rate I was would have been euphoric.

Sadly, here's where I am...
I have seen your matches...

I'll be back 3ing
Just.. why

Do you also think she's also too hard to fight for a majority of the cast? How would you fix it?
I don't really have an opinion on this game anymore. Things don't make sense and Capcom will patch whatever they want and everyone just has to deal with it until the next Season

Stand block so they don't go over and wait till they land to punish so you can get a full combo. If you punish too early youll hit them out of the air and only get 1 hit.

"FUN"

What you have said throughout this thread does not match up with your gameplay. I don't really care about your MKX skills as it is not relevant to what I said.
If you think that, then you have me mistaken for another. I don't know how things have evolved since, but it wasn't difficult or complex at all.

Tractatus logico-philosophicus is a pretty complex book, but last I checked they make billion dollar movies out of rowlings work not Wittgensteins. Mkxs brand of "complexity" is basically just an abundance of strong offensive options. That's it. It's not necessarily better or more fun just because you increase complexity it's also not harder to play just because you increase complexity.

I can't argue with that, but something about MKX makes it feel compelling and something about SFV makes it feel flat.

HD Remix was the last fun SF game, IMO. SFV is better than SF4, but it still isn't compelling or addictive. I can't put my finger on why that is though. Maybe someone here has a better idea why.

I'm definitely getting a Switch.
