Okay, so I watched the games last night on Twitch.

How did only Zappa and Goonie notice that I left after I beat Hayatei? That was supposed to be my top tier pop off lol. I actually forgot my converter when I did that, and one of the DPS guys pulled through and kept it for me.

The chat went nuts about how I shouldn't have popped off on Reo. The pop off was more at TYM than at Reo. Reo and I are cool.

God damn I played like a bitch in that 5th game vs Sonic.

Scar is my dad, and Dragon's dad. If that match is 5-5, we're gonna need another Tarkatan to prove it lol.

Resolution through knowledge and resolve.
I just feel like TCW is questioned as a major 100% because of me.

Final Round this year, Summerjam, and even Winterbrawl, which was weaker than the 2 aforementioned and TCW, were comfortably called majors with no issue, but with TCW, which is arguably the most stacked of the 4, there's a problem.

I feel like if I would have gotten top 8 at CEO or Combo Breaker, it'd be "well, EVO is the only real event".

People can say what they want tbh. I beat Hayatei, I beat Reo, took Fox to game 5. That's the resume of a stellar performance at a major. Hold that. It's just odd to discredit Aquaman's event because it was perhaps 2nd rate to the big 3 events.

Like regionals are won by players like Hayatei and Scar, without losing games. To knock off real majors like TCW into that category because of me? I mean, don't break your goal post with how much you're trying to move it.
Only the saltiest of salts can lead anyone to disparaging this event.

@Tweedy props for beating that homeless dudes ass. Normal folks can't handle real life Rekkas
I gave him 2 bucks, he walked away pissed, came back around and said "am I gonna have to fight with you for the rest of your singles?".

Dude was as tall as he was round. I could jump out of his rekkas.

The man has talked his fair amount of shit about people unprovoked and is deserving of SOME of the hate he gets. The guy is no angel definitely.

Regardless, he did well at TCW and that's undeniable, Alien or not. We will see if time is in his favor as the patch next month rolls over and *possibly* older players return to the fray.

On another point about nobody saying stuff when people use their "broke" characters. Scar w demo and hayatei w ronin for example, it took NEARLY a year of full on grinding and labbing to bring as much potential out these characters as they did. That being said they are the ONLY ones to do well with said characters. I can't think of an alien player that's lost in pools.

The reason why alien receives the hate he does is because his ease of use and accessibility. He was great from the very beginning and it wasn't hard to see.

Same with Tanya, although it took a Lil bit longer before ppl realized how BS she was.
Missed this post.

Hayatei literally won Canada Cup seconds after Ronin got buffed from not working correctly to busted.

Not seconds but it was soon after.

Edit: Thanks for not being a maniac post-event btw. The props are appreciated.

Well buffs helped obviously but the fundamental skill set taken to play the character at that level is only exhibited by him. Reason being is because he's mained the character since day 1. Takeda is definitely strong, no doubt, but the only ones who do well with him are the ones who've literally played him since day 1 (hayatei and raptor, one could argue vman as well).

The irrelevance of online tournaments to determining if you're a top player. First of all, Tweedy kept on gloating beforehand about winning his clan tournaments and such but the fact is, no one cares. What we care about is results offline.

If you do well in ESL, that's great but it's not enough. Look at Crawlingshadow. Who really sees him as a top player? Probably no one. He made ESL finals twice.
People keep bringing up Season 1 and 2 finalists, when I've said twice that I'm only talking about Season 3 (since the major netcode issues were fixed). Anything before that is whatever, but everyone who placed top in S3 is who you'd expect to be there. All of those guys are top offline as well. Coincidence?

The point is that the people who are best at MKX are doing well both online and offline since rollback was implemented. There's no longer this "great divide" that existed before the revamp.

@HoneyBee IIRC I just said that people who were shitting on me would not last in things like the Exile tournaments and CR tournaments.

Me gloating and acting like i'm a top player for winning those was just made up, like when people said that I said i'm better than Dragon. Like how all of a sudden i'm challenging Yomi's position at the top when i'm not.

lol

Its not 100% true. Not all the best players are doing great online.A good amount are yes. But some of them are running into issues that are mentioned over and over again. Yes the Netcode has improved a good amount. But you still have to deal with people with garbage internet. The netcode could be the best in the world. But if the opponetn has 20 Up and 3 down then it doesn't actually matter. If the opponent is 16 and you don't find out after the fact you are going to be pissed off. If the opponent reports the score wrong and you both get DQ'd how is that fair.

If you're claiming you couldn't place one week due to losing to someone with bad internet, I sympathize. If you're claiming you couldn't place in 8 weeks due to your oponent misreporting or having an unplayable connection every single time, that sounds like excuses.

Anomalies do happen, but that's why ESL is a season rather than a single event. And that was evidenced by the fact that all the players who are tops at offline events right now (Sonic, Foxy, Scar, Dragon, Hayatei etc) also placed top in ESL S3.

Literally the same true 'top' players doing just as well in both.

Actually upload matters more than down when it comes to gaming :p

Vak had issues 3 weeks in a row with Score reporting. Lol. Just a horrible example.

Nah I'm good lol, only takes one tournament to get a little hype behind me and I already have a little hype without going offline:p People remember EVO medals until they see someone show up and start stealing faces. If I get the title of the people's Shinnok well hellllllll that's better in my book
Well luckily, I don't give a shit about the people. I just like being the best and most accomplished.

apparently there is for the people who still need to use netcode as an excuse

Lol this isn't cute how you didn't tag me. Let me see how to respond without going too off topic and roasting you lol.

1. Me saying I thought...THOUGHT...It was a regional was not me discrediting your achievement at all. Tell me where I said that. I wanna know where I said "I mean it's just a regional bro so your top 8 doesn't count" or "you use Alien man so you doing well against top players doesn't matter."

2.This literally had nothing to do with you whether you went or not. Stop trying to be the center of attention please. "I was there so I feel like everyone is saying it's a regional because of me." First. No. it doesn't matter if you traveled from buttfuck nowhere to compete. You know why people call it a regional? Attendance and as said above PRESTIGE. You wanna know why the NRS community cares so much about TCW? THEY CARE ABOUT NRS. They treat the community well unlike other events. The community is trying to increase this events prestige.

3. How does this conversation translate into me not playing the game? Explain. Because you're salty af at discussion and something I said that you may not have liked? A. I don't go to tournaments because I'm not in a position to travel, which I believe you weren't either until some other person paid for your expenses. B. I play the game every day lolz

4. Don't ever speak my name again unless you're willing to tag me in an actual discussion. I've heard plenty of shit about you and I'm my own man and been like "oh well, that's not my problem, he didn't do anything to me." Now? You're being a scumbag to me and I'm not gonna let you slander me how you want.
I wasn't in a position to travel but I make waves online. What online tournament did you win? Who did you beat on Red Hot Sundays?

And yes, i'm the center of attention because I went and backed up my talk, and this thread is based around me. Deal with it.

I can speak your name all I want. What are you gonna do about it? No one is being a scumbag to you. This is a video game forum and I haven't tossed any personal insults your way, as if I could. I'm just tired of people talking about events as if they were there or know what they're talking about. "Lol you make it out of pools and you're in top 16", but at events where you make it out of pools and you're in top 64, you don't play multiple top players in pools. lol

You came in this thread going in about how it's a regional and what not. You don't have any legs to stand on or any right to say shit.

@Pig Of The Hut let me blow this guy up on Red Hot Sundays please.

Lol this guy's account has an xbox live tag.

If you're only on xbox, YOU'RE NOT REALLY PLAYING THIS GAME. LOL

Anyone can post on TYM. This is why so many people thought i'd do bad. There are so many of these shitheads that just say whatever they want on here.

My schedule is free this Sunday. Ask Pig and I will end you.
