I'm not saying i'm better than anyone, but lets not act like the players that I beat/lost to were some regional bums. Hayatei/Sonic/Scar are all ranked higher than you and basically everyone atm, besides Dragon, Foxy and maybe Wound.

Accolades wise i'm the worst player ever, obviously. I didn't make this stupid thread title. I do think that i'm pretty good right now and a threat to anyone. I hope we play at one of the closing majors for MKX.

I'm not one of the people saying TCW doesn't count or whatever, Dragon Hayatei Scar Sonicfox all being there automatically makes the top 8 pretty tough. TCW wasn't as stacked as CEO/Combo Breaker/Evo but it was the next best thing. You earned your placing there.

I'm actually ranked #5 by the way, the only 4 higher than me are Scar Foxy DJT and Sonicfox. These are the all-time rankings, which are the most important in my opinion. Doing well in the current meta only is great, and doing well in the beginning of the game only is also fine, but doing well from day 1 until present is what matters the most.

The only tournament I'll be at this year is SCR, I'll probably be at KIT next year. I would be down to money match at either tournament, or else if not good luck in brackets.

I regret the post that you quoted. When I said "we're 1-1 in the ESL, see me at X event", that was supposed to be the extent of what i'm trying to say. With stuff that other people are saying, i'm sure that'll be blown out of proportion.

You, DJT and Michaelangelo inspired my gameplay a lot and are some of my favorite players. No beef bruh. Straight vegan.

Hayatei won Toruyken and Scar won ECT, both without breaking a sweat. Those are regionals. They were both in loser's before top 8. Great players like Reo and Aquaman didn't make top 8. It's also not like Kevo and I got into top 8 because of a lack of depth, we both beat gods to get our placing. Cossner and 2ez are also probably the two most underrated players in the scene right now.

TCW lacked a round, maybe a round and a half of real depth, in comparison to Combo Breaker/CEO/EVO. It was a major, just not the most stacked major.

Top player upsets don't really make the event a major, it just means that there are some new blood who are ready, willing, and able to be threats to the previous top guys. No one is (or really can, tbh) deny that you Kevo had a hell of a weekend. It would still not change, to a lot of the top players with the mentality I've outlined, that this probably would not be considered a major. And that's okay

An event being a major usually has to do with 1) Prestige and 2) Amount of players there. 120+ man events are almost always a spectacle, and those events tend to bring out the best from everywhere. This is your CEO, your Combo Breaker, your Evo, etc.

TCW simply doesn't have that prestige yet, which is reasonable, considering it's in its infancy. I think the problem is you're getting too hung up on what a "major" means as far as player ability.

Even if the event is a small regional, beating established top guys is very impressive. The "major" argument doesn't even matter when you have scalps like that. The argument comes into play when a player may brag that they are getting 9th or top 16 at these regional events which have a low player base where the accomplishment of those placements is often three matches or less won. At a major event, the endurance of having to run through large pools AND large post pool swaths, often of great players attracted by the money and prestige, is worth talking about 9th or top 16 (sometimes: the hardcore guys will probably say top 8 or gtfo).

Tl;dr: You established that you are good this weekend, regardless of whether or not the event was a "major" or not. Don't get caught up too much on what the event is labeled, that really only matters for SRK rankings and bragging rights when people fail to place top 8.

Final Round this year, Summerjam, and even Winterbrawl, which was weaker than the 2 aforementioned and TCW, were comfortably called majors with no issue, but with TCW, which is arguably the most stacked of the 4, there's a problem.

I feel like if I would have gotten top 8 at CEO or Combo Breaker, it'd be "well, EVO is the only real event".

People can say what they want tbh. I beat Hayatei, I beat Reo, took Fox to game 5. That's the resume of a stellar performance at a major. Hold that. It's just odd to discredit Aquaman's event because it was perhaps 2nd rate to the big 3 events.

Like regionals are won by players like Hayatei and Scar, without losing games. To knock off real majors like TCW into that category because of me? I mean, don't break your goal post with how much you're trying to move it.

Aye bruh traveled 55 hours for this local where I lost to Sonic and Scar bruh i'm so bad.

And none of these people came out who are saying this. Play 2ez, play Dark. Tell me that these players haven't improved enough to where they make events majors. You don't even have to play Kevo and I, because we placed in spite of the gods being in our path.

Hit up Zappa or Yams. I don't care if they lost in pools one time in 2015. These guys are good. I play everyone online, I fucking played Sonic all weekend. I can gauge skill.

That's a talking point from 2011 that isn't valid anymore.

Two different places to prove yourself, and each has their own characteristics and benefits.

Plus, everyone who's truly top in MKX (Sonic, Scar, Dragon, Foxy, etc.) is doing well in both.

Right, Yams forced Sonic into Acidic. I've played the best players, I played Yams in casuals, he's pretty good lol.
