ill just add some adjustments id like to see Kenjitsu get, not saying he is bad or anything just wanting something extra, if we look at it his F2 only real viable OH starter besides his DF1 special is hella unsafe except with a select few at max range ended with BF2. and his Meterless combos are a bit heavy on input timing basically any combo starting with DB1 into D1 or standing 1 then carried off that is kinda rediculous timing compared to the rest of cast which has at least something for meterless and is considerably easier to accomplish.
Id say id start with:
Kenjitsu:
- Rising Sword: recovery from 33 to 27 block advantage down to -9 from -12
- Spinning Blade: from -10 to -8 its a normal special and since most characters have a way to make there mixups safe why not him. NOTE: EX stays the same very punishable
- Tele Push: from - 13 to negative -10 (this would allow him to make his F2 a bit safer aginst some opf the cast with faster advancing normals and specials.)
- Tele Blast: EX version of tele push) stays the same on block -13, Recovery 42, startup 12, hit adv 22
- Blade Absorb: should heal for the amount of the projectile/move.
- Leaping Sword: from 27 to 20 startup.
- Head Splitter: stays the same if Tele Push get the changes a described above. but if Tele Push gets nothing make HS -12 on block.
universal changes:
- High Chop: make it 7 frame Startup from 9.
- Quick Strike: MAke it 7 frame Startup down from 9.
- Double Slap: Make its Startup 11 frames down from 13.
- Stun Strike: Startup down to 10 frames from 13
I feel Kenshi is a bit behind the guild with his slower frames, he does good considering but almost every other character has 7-8 frame startup high starters and 10 Startup or below mids while he has 9 frame highs and 13 frame mids. only person with worse mids that comes to mind is Bo rai cho, and even bo has better Starters and mixups.
The above i feel will help Kenshi out alot, and in Kenjitsu being his best would make him that A+ character he has always deserved.
The Rising sword adjustment is just so his meterless is a tiny bit easier to pull off than it is now he wouldn't have to wait till they almost touch ground to get out of recovery and be able to D1 or standing 1. He would have a 6 frame grace period to preform lets say:
B3 xx DB1, D1, B1 xx DB4/BF3
well thats what id want for Kenjitsu and after that id call him Perfect. At least thats all id need even though i do ok with him as of now. But as it stands if you try to mixup your opponent as of now kenshi gets easily full combo punished on every attempt. and id say thats not fair in this meta. Jax, Johnny, Mileena, Cassie, Tekada, Kung Lao, Kano, Triborg, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Sonya, Liu Kang, Raiden, Reptile and many more can safley perform or attempt and OH /Low while Kenshi Kenjitsu gets punished for his OH's. almost every other character either has safe options to mixup, or ways to make them safe or cancel pressure to help them do it safely.
I just can't believe that this character is overlooked or given less than the rest. yes Kenshi got alot of buffs last time around but it seems they held back alot when giving the adjustments.
All in all i would be happier with DB1 having a few more frames to deal with 6-7.
