Alien, for starters, is hard to punish at times. That's not an excuse to not be able to do it, as its the highest level of play but I understand people are human. Clearly the character is not responsible for human error. But I certainly understand the difficulty in not only punishing but correctly blocking against alien all the while your health is melting away from acid.

Tekken got mopped in short time. We all know alien is extremely strong, has multiple legit broken elements like hurt box issues etc. Fox is the best player in the world, but today tekken has his number. Until alien.

I'm not responsible for what others say. Nor do I think people seriously need excuses for why fox wins. He's clearly the best. I said it sucks he was for once getting out played then switches to a god tier character and sweeps the floor with him.

Watching that set was awesome. Then deflating as hell. I don't know what would have happened if fox would have kept erron. But I knew what would happen if he picked alien. We all did.

For the record, I would have picked alien too. Lots of money on the line. And smart character choices are part of being good. It just sucks that alien is that good.

People blamed alien when sonic fox won with erron black in Grand finals. Which may or may not be a valid point in regards to pools or top 32 or whatever but the fact is he outplayed his opponent in Grand finals using a good, but not great (like alien) character.

Evo, he is involved in a classic grand finals in which, in this particular day, he was getting outplayed. Not destroyed. Not "bodied". Just outplayed. It was clearly tekken masters day. Then alien is picked during the final match and it's not even fucking close. Destroyed. Because alien. I think it's fair to say the character choice won evo this year.

Well it's funny you say that since:

1) When Sonic sealed the deal with Erron at last year's EVO (which in itself was a counterpick to Foxy's counterpick), people chalked it up to Erron being a nonsense character and we had clueless armchair critics trying to deal further nerfs to him, specifically his run speed, which would've been been yet another indirect Marksman nerf aimed at Outlaw.

2) I'm almost certain the only reason he stuck it out with Erron was to avoid letting Tekken Master get the decisive counterpick, a practice he himself is notorious for if you've watched any EU majors. (for the record I'm not saying he gets carried by counterpicks nor do I frown upon it, he beat me at Hypespotting without having to do so and IMO anyone who thinks counterpicking is some discernible FGC offense is a seriously out of touch fuckboi).

If Tekken Master had gone 2-0 up in the reset, the counterpicking cards would've been in his hands. He didn't, committed to Blood God knowing Alien was an ace in the hole, Sonic cashed in when he needed to, TM clearly crumbled under the stature of the occasion (he actively looked for EX flip and failed to punish it?) and bottled it.

I guess there truly is no satisfying people.

Sonicfox knew Alien Acidic very well, since he was his triumph card. At that time he was really pressed, because TM did a very good vortex with Kotal Khan. Alien has in his inputs a lot of lows and mids, and 1-2 overheads, so it was kind of hard to guess which to block and which to EX attack. It seemed to me that Sonic Fox was trying to keep his triumph card hidden till the last match.

TBH, I was surprised that he did 3 downs with the guns (Don't know its name of attack), and I thought that he would go for the secret brutality, but oh well...

That wasnt his debut, he's been going to eu tournaments for a year.

Wasn't like a criticism, or a disregard of his work. I remember him from I think it was viennality, or maybe Hypespotting? Either way, I just meant on an international level where you have the opportunity to play the largest pool of high level players/matchups possible. You could see him really adapting on the fly, he was scary, looking forward to seeing him, and more and more UK-->EU-->Asian-->THE WORLD players getting into the scene. Good for everyone.

Sonic fox beat him 3-0 in winners finals, did we all forget about this. Then trekken master reset bracket. Sonic fox got down 1-0. Then sonic won 2 strait games. Trekken master pulled out a great variation against Arron black. Trekken master was down 2-1 when he switched and then sonic knew that variation could not compete with his alien. If trekken master wanted it to be Arron black he should of stayed with his original variation. Sonic fox would have won anyways. He switched to a good variation against erron black but a terrible veriation alien. Tekken master is 2nd best player in the world right now but he lost to the best. But let me guess it's ok trekken master counter picked, but when sonic fox does it it's not ok.

Trekken master pulled out a great variation against Arron black. Trekken master was down 2-1 when he switched and then sonic knew that variation could not compete with his alien.
