Btw, Mileena is the only character in the game that can 100% safely escape the most messed up setplay and 50/50 hard to blockable situations including Cyrax hard to blockable vortex, CSZ corner blender, etc. etc. with just one bar. I don't know if I'd say Ethereal isn't worth learning for at least a few match ups.

I don't know if I'd call Mileena the best just yet with some of the DLC but all I know is Alien, Johnny Cage, Sonya are REALLY messed up (like pre patch top tiers level of savagery) and almost no one is talking about them.

Ive always though johnny was nuts.

@YOMI RM SaltFace is she one the the best in game at the min? for sure. but a unquestioned number 1? not so sure. 100% disagree shes a 1 variation character, for obvious reasons.

@JTB123 i get that you are one of the few people who shoot down people who wrongly said she was "this good" from the start but mileena from recent march patch and mileena from sept patch are two different kind of monsters, ALOT changed in this patch for her. i think even those who were in the know about pre-mkxl mileena still have to rework/relearn some things mu wise

I agree 1000000% but #1 is very bold to say lol I'd say top 10 or 5 due to her being so unsafe, & her tough match ups, not ness necessary bad but just really frustrating like GM Sub, & Tremor (pre-nerf) idk how the match up is now due to his nerfs, but it was always hard to beat his overhead rocks, & his zoning at times. But other then that she still slays

Don't even try dude. I tried to be the voice of reason in the MK9 days and still got lumped in as a downplayer regardless what I actually said. People on TYM can't really read the text on the site most of the time.

I was on the "Mileena is not that good" bandwagon. That is until I played @YOMI RM SaltFace and now, I absolutely despise this character and Will knows how Salty this character makes me (To this day, Tele kick into X-Ray haunts me).

She beats the hell out of my characters, except A-List but I don't use it enough to do well with A-List vs Mileena mostly stick to SD amd Fisticuffs, and Kenshi doesn't feel winnable at times.

I feel like I have to get EXTREMELY lucky to beat Will with Kenshi. She has so many tools it's ridiculous. #1 may be debatable but I agree.

And Will I'm sorry for Fataling Empress Mileena. I couldn't help it mang.

I'm a nobody and aren't really a tourney player yet but for a little while now I've had A-list Cage at #2.

Man have you not seen the JC Community non of those downplaying fuckers would ever admit that.

Smoke can be thrown out of Phase or punished during recovery. It's nowhere near on the level of Ethereal Mileena's port. I'm not saying Smoke is bad. I'm saying if you want to play a hit and run character, Ethereal better fits that archetype than Smoke.

to be fair, foxy said on page 1 shinnok so dunno if you should be tagging him.

Top 1... I'm not sold. At her best is she in the 5th percentile? Probably. She can build meter in chunks but a lot of her stuff allows her to hang herself. Even if Yolo.exe isn't activated. That and the DLC characters haven't been fully explored but I can see her having a tough time with with Alien, Sub, Liu Kang, Cyber Sub, to a degree Cyrax because his punishes are heavy & you don't want a trade with net. Other than that I don't see any huge blemishes on the character. Not sure how she fairs against Sektor but yeah

After the beta I knew she would be high tier for sure.
What makes her super good now is her zoning and her pokes. They gave her the only thing she needed which was her fast poke. The fact that some characters that were bad MUs for her got nerfed was a huge buff to her as well (i.e. Cassie Cage).
I think she is definitely top 10 atm but I kinda feel like she will be the Skarlet of MKX, some people will say top 5, others top 10 and others just outside of top 10. Her placement is whatever IMO, she is a very good character now and can hold her own against everyone FINALLY, even tho I still think she has bad MUs I don't think they are relevant enough to keep her from becoming great.

it actually does have recovery, hence why she cant ex fade forward out of sub zero's corner clone setups and block the clone. she gets frozen when she reappears in the small window when she cant block
