basically HTB's have been here for a long while, many characters have them, and recently everyone was like there is triborg, "omg an HTB Nerf him". they acted like it was something new, freaked out about HTB's when they have been a part of the game for a long while, Tekada still has em, Predator still has em, Quan still has em, Tremor actually just got one on the Hotfix that nerfed Sektor and CSZ i believe.

Kabal was not "HTB", he simply did a lot of chip damage when you did block.

i could even go to the level that MK9 was far worse than MKX is in every way, the balancing was off the charts in that game, one sided if you chose low tiers to the standard top 10.

yeah it was more so his endless chip but i get ya... and that pressure was awfully close to block infinite... i remember i played a bit of him in 9, i was more of a Cyrax main. its been so long... i also think i remember instant airs being beast mode, with almost no recovery off laning from jumpsThe only kind of "mixup" Kabal really had was as previously stated the low saw blade/overhead hookswords, which was relatively easy to fuzzy guard, if not react to entirely. They were somewhat awkward to punish (think War God Kotal) but otherwise that wasn't the problem with Kabal at all.

LolThe 'footsies' are pretty much just a guess between run up string or run up jump. The issue everyone had early on in this game about the run up 50/50 should've been more about how you can't stop the run up 50/50 when you are looking to AA these ridiculous jump attacks.
In Injustice, MK9, Street Fighter...just most 2D fighting games in general, you can look for a jump, and if they ended up advancing on the ground, you can react and poke before they force their best guessing game on you. In MKX though, if you are looking for a jump and they run in, you are eating their best guessing game before you can even react.
There's like a whole layer of meta missing in this game.

It's humorous in hindsight.
In any case, I still like MKX. It may have its frustrating bits, but the game's still fun, and the engine is constantly evolving.
