Its a new mechanic implemented in MK XL that makes your hitspark going red instead of usually white if you punish any move in the game, most of the time, its masked by the blood stain on its own, so no wonder you've never seen it.what's the punish indicator?
So why don't you play SFV then? It doesn't have any of these issues really.1.) Hard to Blockables / Pseudo Unblockables
2.) Unreactable 50/50s
3.) Safe 50/50s
4.) Vortexes / Setplay
5.) Almost half screen advancing normals
6.) Full screen advancing strings
7.) Around +8 or more Combo Launchers on block
8.) The jumping
9.) The lack of consistent anti-airs among the entire cast with no resource
10.) Auto correcting Dive Kicks / air special attacks
11.) Being able to do an air special attack in recovery after whiffing a Jump Attack
12.) Jailing / Loopable pressure
13.) Normals or melee attacks that have ZERO hurtboxes and cannot be traded with or whiff punished optimally
14.) Safe Armor Launchers
15.) Fast Half Screen Armor Launchers
16.) Massive low profiling
17.) Command Grabs that tick off fast and far advancing mids
18.) Command Grabs that are hard to punish on whiff

It has it's own list of bs issues tho. No game is perfect, especially fighting games as they are always super scummy..So why don't you play SFV then? It doesn't have any of these issues really.

things i hate about this game?
1. Players who think HTB's, Vortex's, safe 50-50's, Resets, Loops, Cancel pressure, Restands, Unreactible guessing moves are a cheap tactic. when we all know damn well they have been in previous Mortal Kombats, and the game developer has made it abundantly clear that they are here to stay. if the game developer says its ok, then its ok. you can always play another game or just adapt.
2. players who cry about others characters to make their own characters look better, or in hopes of standing a better chance at a regional.
3. players who cry about other characters dirt while using characters with same amount of dirt or far worse dirt!
4. players who complain about moves or character tool's and call them "op, Cheap, Broken, Unbalanced" without having the brains to lab up how to defend against said Dirt.
Basically my problem isn't with the game its with the childish players, which are well known in the fighting community as Scrubs who go by the Scrub mentality: its not my fault that character is broke, or he is being cheap by using that tool. instead of finding a way to get around it. instead of adapting to the game and growing stronger they limit themselvs by a Scrub standard that states i can't use cheap tactics that i or others have deemed cheap broken and op, even though the game developer has deemed it usable.
thats my beef with the game. its the community, and the worse one to date has got to be Mortal Kombat United. its infested by Scrubs that refuse to get Stronger and learn new ways to rise thier game above.
they can't see that in thier land of Brokenness flying towards them that Sonic Glided past all the OPness and Broken tools and labbed up how to defeat the cheapness, and somehow there is no way to beat it?

i have constantly grown by gathering info, asking questions, browsing for tech, and getting Info faster than any other MK site.
even when there is constant arguments on each thread, i can see past it all and find that Golden Post showing some cool tech that steps up my game.
just to help you out, you can backdash right before, armor right before and if you Hold down till the oh hits and let off and back on within 1 frame like a fuzzy block, you can somewhat consistantly block the HTB. there are some options to evade it, then there is quite a bit of time he on wiff recovery so use that to your punish book.... hope it helpsHard to blockables are really my only main gripe. It just makes the game not really fun to play when you die from being looped in one 20% combo or whatever it is by Cyrax over and over.
