I personally don't agree, unless they added in separate frame data for standing/ducking it becomes too vague whether or not the set up we're going for is actually guaranteed.

Its more about blocking animations. Takeda extends his out so Torr can't enter that space, it pushes him further back.
Its like how Cassie and Kotal stagger for extra frames because of the way they move on block you can force yourself into that gap and it takes them an extra frame or two for the game to shift you out of the space their characters need to be in.

For shinnok, try blocking duck -> duck -> stand -> stand
What trickery is this lol... That works! Reversal throws also work for Quan Chi

You had this happen to you in games as well, with perfect timing? I can't test this accurately in training, so I'm not sure if the recording AI isn't just being goofy... anyways, sorry for accusing you, I was too sceptical when I saw the reversal throw and was pretty sure they removed the difference between standing and crouching block frames (apparently, this is not the same thing).

Never happened to me, but it happens to other people sometime. I can confirm that honestly you're always better off doing b.12xxOH b.12 and then making them hold that 10/10/10/10/10/10/10/10/10/10 mix-up

Also yeah, isn't it funny how things like that work? Changing just how you block can make all the difference.

I remember perfectly. We were met with nothing but how broken it is types of responses, even though we had multiple detailed explanations that it wasn't an infinite... /snip/ ...Yet we get nerfed more heavily than they even had to do. Now the shoe is on the other foot and it has changed to "it's not a block infinite, everyone can get out just fine". Oh really? Funny how things change.
True. What Jacqui had was definitely not a block infinite, and it appears that this isn't either. However, they were equally dumb in trapping the opponent into making a stand block or a crouch block to escape.

Jacqui got nerfed hard for having that. I miss +11 uprocket and +30 ex uprocket, but I guess it had to go... :(

This thread screams hypocrisy.

@Doombawkz and @Red Raptor , sorry to bother you and you may have answered this already. But I've noticed that doing the B121~Overhead block string can have variable push back whether you're crouching or not (been testing this against Takeda). Have you guys encountered this and has it affected your testing in any way?

What's this 10x10 mixup?

lmao so I finally got to get home and lab this. It's actually...FUNNY.

b121 overhead toss while everything is stand blocked is definitely absolutely savage. RIP Takeda.

b121 overhead toss with crouching at various points appears to be fine.

From what I can see, the *most consistent* way out here is to be ducking when Ferra Toss comes out and then stand up into it. With Takeda, it causes a VERY clear push back. However, d1 check is definitely still a thing.

Pretty cool to see for myself.

Wow, this thread! It's been amazing. I have this mental image of Bane with a Pug face being attacked by thousands of little TYM'ers and just stomping and crushing them, mashing them into the dirt as they swarm and bite him, but they just keep coming.

It looks to me just based on these vids that there is no infinite, but I think the point is that it's very difficult to tech, maybe coming down to 1 frame for certain characters. If that is the case, honestly I don't really give a shit if they nerf the string.

I'm sort of in the middle on the issue. On one hand, it is in line with the character's playstyle--he relies on safe pressure being one of his major attributes--on the other hand, I think it is sort of cheap.

We've had this all along and obviously it's never broken us too badly. The typical playout is that people eat the combo and quickly gain enough meter to either wakeup or reversal during the gap. That's sort of not the end of the world. They can also choose to eat the overhead and tech roll on wakeup.

I would not mind at all if this gets nerfed by a couple of frames on block. It's not something I abuse too much anyway, and given our buffs, it's not needed anymore. Just my 2 cents as a mediocre F/T main from launch.

This is the best recording I could get but I could be off by a frame. I'm trying Doombawkz method of blocking low during different parts of the string then I'm immediately going to neutral duck and b121 still hits me. The best I could get was a d1 trade which would still make it a pseudo infinite but again I could be off by a frame. If I can find a better recording I'll post it but for now this is the best I have.

Maybe somebody can double check but i set the AI for Unbreakable subzero to parry for a reversal and was able to stuff it with B1 after a blocked ferra toss in the corner. The parry is 6 frames. Not sure if it makes a difference in advantage if you cancel into the toss.

Infinite or no, it's still gotta go.

You don't have to reduce the plus frames, just add in like 36384x pushback and stagger so every character can poke out of it consistently :).

Don't worry, he'll still be plus! Seemed to work fine for Jacqui. I don't remember you defending block strings this zealously when it was Jacqui up for discussion.

Also, you've obviously got your timing wrong. You were using grab and beating out a follow up. InFlames/Red Raptor used REVERSAL grab and got beat out. That suggests that his timing was more strict than yours at the very least.

@Doombawkz
No one had it problem with it until now, its been in the game forever.
Also I would love it if they added that much pushback to anything Torr had, vicious would have its own set of actual infinites.

Third point was already covered. +1 crouch block and you get everything you need out of it.

Im a crazy maniac for doing this

I tried my best to line up each video exactly. I know it's not 60 fps but honestly it's enough to see that my input comes out before yours. watch in hd so its not shit quality.
Thats really cool, actually. I'm a caveman so this kind of editing magic is really cool to me.

Can you do it with mine and Rampage's videos too? :O
Also yeah I see kinda what you mean when I put it in HD.
