Lao uses plus specials to make pressure , and he builds meter twice as fast as sub. If cryo had Laos meter building and pressure he would be broken as fuck ,
Lao has a projectile, yet he is not a zoner. I'm waiting for you to realize that giving a character a projectile doesn't make them a zoner. Giving Cryo a projectile would solve help him in several areas as I just listed, but most importantly it would help with his whiff punishing ability in the same way you think giving him a long range standing normal would, by helping him control space in order to force his opponent to make a mistake.

Cryo just needs a ranged standing normal that's safe with a little pushback to complement d4 , cryo's biggest weakness is that he loses the neutral hard. If the made the last hit of his 111 string a standing normal it would be perfect , even if it doesn't link into anything combo wise. It would let him control the space in front of him forcing the opponent to do something risky to open him up , and that is where cryo shines- punishing and whiff punishing. Could anyone disagree with that being the best balanced buff that would actually help his game?
Design-wise that is the role the hammer was supposed to fill, I'd imagine. Obviously not how it turned out since it's startup and active frames are hot ass but there you have it.

You literally said these words exactly:

knives would be for zoning
Can you quit Sub as well because we don't want the people that find Quan too difficult to play.

Universally slammed by morons, none of which presented a single good argument for why I was wrong. The thread was fine, the replies were cancerous.
You mean the same thread where you wanted Cryomancer to have a long range 7 frame down 1 that starts combos, popped off about how unviable he is, while you ironically didn't understand something as basic as pokes. You are an alright poster most of the time but just stop making buff threads, especially on characters you don't understand the fundamentals of m8.

That was a simple mistake I hadn't thought about. It was just absent mindedness since I knew pokes didn't combo just from playing the game. That 1 accident does not invalidate anything else I said. I've made 3 buff threads, and the only 1 with bad reception was the Cryo one, but again, my points were valid. It only got bad reception because a couple idiots could only focus on 1 small mistake that I even edited out shortly after I posted the thread.

LOL, yes, and having a zoning tool does not make a character a zoner. Is Commando Kano a zoner? And I think Quan's too difficult to play? I never said that, I simply didn't agree with the design changes. I never said I thought they made him low tier. It'd be great if you guys could try to win an argument without bringing up completely irrelevant subjects to try to make me look bad.

1) I find it really funny when someone uses "child" in a condescended way, like that gives them some kind of superiority without even knowing the other person (and I'm saying this as a third party as that wasn't even directed at me, from the outside it looks really bad).

2) I always try to stay humble but I appreciate the compliment @Dankster Morgan

3) I don't think the discussion is going anywhere at this point.

4) I think if we keep talking about Cryo on Unbreakable thread a mod will come with purifying fire. I apologize for my comment on Cryo as I didn't know it would produce a longer discussion in this thread but I think we should either stop it or continue in the appropiate thread.

Commando Kano can adopt a zoning strategy at various points throughout the match to harass his opponent, yes. His knives allow him to do that and his air ball/laser complement people trying to jump over his knives since they're mids and can't be ducked. Sub's kit isn't built around having a normal projectile. It does nothing to plug Cryo's biggest weakness (garbage neutral) and adding it for the purpose of building meter is missing the point that at no point during Cryo's gameplan would he want to be throwing that knife, let along throwing it gratuitously. And no one has to tried to make you look bad, you're doing that pretty well all by yourself. Take your shitty suggestions to the Cryomancer thread so they can be laughed at in the proper place.

From boba's posts in the past he has shown his lack of maturity and common sense, that's why I called him a child.

I like how you dodged my question of whether or not Commando Kano is a zoner. The answer is no he is not. Cybernetic is, but just because Commando can zone decently doesn't mean it's a big enough focus of his for him to be called a zoner.

He wouldn't want to throw the knife? Why not? It could force them to jump which would lead to a whiff punish with slide or f4. If they don't jump you do a bit of chip and build meter which the variation is highly dependant on. So it would help his whiff punishing, his meter building, potentially his pressure and safeness and could even do what lokheit said which is give him a 50/50 after cold blooded. I already pointed out how they were trying to make me look bad. I haven't done anything but give my opinion on a character. You think I deserve to be insulted for that?

Laos not a zoner that is correct , but sub already has one projectile as well , and u have flat out said that he needs another to make him a zoner . U have literally said it , give up dude

Don't feed trolls, I'd like to keep this thread as an Unbreakable recourse so the mods don't come in and wreck it because of the cryo talk in the UB thread.

A thought about the teased Unbreakable buffs. I'm going to assume aura buffs all special moves, or at least the EX specials. So...

Confirmed
  • Ex Icy Slide + Aura = airborne freeze
  • Ex Frost Bomb + Aura = increased damage
Unknown

  • Ex Ice Blast + Aura = ???
  • Ex Barrier of Ice + Aura = ???
  • Ex Ice Aura + Aura = ???
Thoughts?

Since they revealed Cyber Sub drone adding damage over time to his iceball freeze, I've been thinking that UB could get the same treatment with his aura.

For me the most important part is that it would allow you to remove the aura from different moves, which means that you will be able to keep it active in the neutral (it's original use) and still use aura activation combos as you will consume it during the combo.

It would be nice if regular iceball gained the speed of mb iceball if aura is on , maybe not the eating projectile property but speed of mb would be nice

If that aura enhanced meterburn slide allows him to freeze opponent twice in single combo, he is going to be perfect counter to leatherface's killer variation.

think about it, leatherface relies on long ranged normals and specials in killer variation and most of them are low, mid, high and overhead, all of them can be countered with parry. If Aura enhances his all special moves his offense will improve as well.

Mmm no I have not, try reading bro. You and dankster are both responsible for derailing this thread. I intended to just have a short exchange with lokheit about Cryomancer, but then you both came in here bringing up a thread I made in the past and telling me to "give up". Then you blame me for derailing the thread just for defending myself lol.

Anyways, I love the change to the EX slide in unbreakable. I think his parry should be holdable for a short time like Assassin Kitana's, and the normal version should have 15 frames of recovery while the EX one should have 5. They should let it parry jump ins too but they should remove the backwards hitbox so it can only freeze attacks that hit the shield from the front.

His aura should reduce damage on hit in both versions and the EX aura should add meter gain on block and increased meter gain on hit. 11 should have reduced recovery to be a good stagger string too. Another idea I had is if the aura is up, it adds a hit of armor to your reversals without having to EX them, but that's unlikely to happen. Also if they gave him a new move like the ground freeze from MK9 that would be cool too. And I'd love it if they gave him a command grab or 2 to go with his parry but it's not necessary.

Just stop dude , grow up. And u shouldn't be having cryo discussions in the unbreakable thread
