It's not just about lag tactics and hard to land combos, I can make combos more consistent under lag if I cared enough. It's the fact that combos mean so little in this game, it's about getting in, footsie is the most important thing in high level games and it's just a dice roll online. There is no taking advantage of frames from blocked pokes or successful counter pokes, by the time you can react to it the frames are gone, you just throw shit out and hope for the best, thus the game is no fun for me and is literally just 50/50 city, not what real MKX is which is why I hate online.

Do you have any advice, or know of any guides/resources for someone who wants to "try to build their own scene"? I'd definitely be interested in starting something up in my area, I just don't even know where to begin. The closest thing is about an hour off (which admittedly isn't terrible), but even that isn't particularly large.
Easiest two things to do is make a facebook group(or look for one and join) for a local fighting game scene(choose the biggest city near you). Try and recruit people to it.

The second thing is make a thread here on TYM with the same intent as above. These two things coincide.

Then look for a scene for other games and try and convince them to play MK. That can be easier said then done but its possible.

That would be the first two things I would do.

I want to be honest....the online of MKX is usually crap....I have troubles playing in room or in ranked.
But I also got to say that in the last month my matches in private have been veeeery smooth; I can play A-List at a good level without any kind of problem (except a few frames of delay, but nothing that really influences the game).

Practicing matchups and having high level challenges has become very possible for me.

Point out the weeks that were won due to lag tactics plz (other than mitsuownes inferno scorp in my absence)
:DOGE

Online is obviously different, but it's not like you can't learn to play on it, look at players like sonic and I.
Did someone say "ARISE!" ?

My victories. Tell me when you found the lag.

By the way, I am working on hosting a tournament in Germany. I would love to welcome (destroy) you offline.
I really wouldn't brag about any of this at all. All those matches seemed very laggy so much that Ketchup and Mustard were laughing at some of the stuff that was happening.

I am not braging at all.

I just linked my important wins that didn't contain any lag.

Why can't everyone at NRS just give us all the one thing we all want to be better... The ONLINE. :/ it's a continuous failure and set back of theirs it's a sham.

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
The biggest issue I have with playing online besides players constantly declining, is when idiots have their mics on and I have to hear them talking, eating, or their stupid music in the background.
^^^this. I know MKX online is a clusterfuck, but I can deal with that. This shit, on the other hand, is seriously intolerable to me.

I like you, Mitsu, but that's absolutely not true.
You can like me and still criticise me.

Check your own connection, find people who have good connections aswell, done.

Cerently I played someone who's connection felt acutally like offline. Yes, it's lagging often, but it's not like you can't play games without lag.

What is considered a good connection? Skull Girls and literally every other game run perfectly fine.

When you feel like you are in practice mode, that's where I feel comfortable and speak of a good connection.

Can't relate, never played that.
You're saying your online feels like your practice mode?!

Dude I'm totally buying a place next to you and we can have slumber parties and stuff!

I mean actual Internet speed. What godlike Internet are you using to achieve this mythical 'lagless' online experience? Thank you for being chill, btw.

Not in most of the games, but it's not like so rare that I am super hyped when I find someone with that connection.

Maybe EU servers are better. Don't know about that kind of stuff to be honest.
