Is Being an Online Warrior in MKX Pointless?

Everythings been covered already in other threads.

The only comments I can make is ESL would be bigger if the netcode did its job. People like sonicfox and foxy would be getting way more cash. fairplay to them anyway.

Also the tiers are messed up a bit online. Lord spinny spin predator brokeshaper quan cheap and liu frame advantage are all still great but scorpion is pumped up significantly online. I bet some other characters like cage who are great offline suffer because its hard to make a read sometimes online.

Just accept its different online unless you play character who inflicts their will on you.

I got MKx on PC and PS4. So I don't get ESL. I just get to deal with who knows how much delay and there's a chance people in the US connect worse than say someone in Europe. PC port is awful as far as port goes. I've been playing Rocket League and Rising Thunder more than MKx soley because the online is far superior. All this coupled with odd input decisions makes waking up a hassle so after getting hit on wakeup 4 times straight cause EX doesn't come out I just have enough.

MKx is fun and for the offline guys and the xbox players who can manage to get online they can play for money and make the purchase worth it. Me on the other hand am just waiting for SFV and T7 to come out. So I can play the same game as tourney goers.

If you're having fun dealing with MKx online then by all means go ahead and keep dealing with it. If not, well there are a few fighters with far better online that people actively play.

That gif always gets me lol. Just a fine reminder to never buy another NRS game until I see unanimous reaction to a far better netkode. I wlll though never buy a port of an NRS game again. No way they'll get it right. Whether it's WB fault or not doesn't matter.

I have no local scene, I worked my ass off with Imposter, and all I could do was play online and play online weeklies.

I tied for 33rd at EVO (my first offline tournament EVER), made it out of my pools on winners side, eliminating Mustard, and winning a few money matches behind the scenes.

So no, it isn't pointless. Did I have to adjust to the timig? Hell yeah I did. Play safer? Yup. But online teaches you MU's and how to play your character.

Even if it was worse than it is, ESL would be a massive saving grace, because it really is.

And more people would actually think something of ESL/participate in it if the netcode was actually good. It's hard to really look at ESL and think 'WOW that's awesome!' when the netcode is so bad. I really don't know how you guys put up with that with money involved.

It's effectively saying, "Yeah, the netcode is ass but look at the money you can make from ESL! Just torrent porn out the wazoo and use lag tactics!"

Sometimes it feels that way lol block a teleport and can't punish definitely makes me salty but not to much you can do about it but move on to next match

The online is ass but ESL is a saving grace regardless of if you get scrubbed out by a lesser player the chance for money is there. Would I buy an Xbox one for ESL probably not but if you can cope with varying connections and do well then the opportunity is most defiantly there.

Out of all the matches I played, I could probably count on my hand how many were fun or worth it. I gave it up a while back because it was just too irritating to even bother with if your wifi isn't top notch.

I wouldn't call it pointless. Ranked is definitely pointless though. If you can find some people to train with in player matches and the connection is decent it's better than nothing. Plus that whole ESL thing.

Only if you aren't having a good time. I don't get to attend events or play offline locally with other people who actually play the game, so online is pretty much all I have if I want to play against other people. I could always play against my friends but they don't even play the game so its no fun, I might as well d a classic tower on very easy lol

I have a good time for the most part though, so its not pointless for me.
