In Zoning We Trust
If both players are equally skilled, and know each other's MU well, without a doubt I think most of the Top 15 is skating away in a tourney match or a FT10 or FT20. Once you know how to stop Cyber/Commando there isn't really much else to worry about with the top or high tiers. The lack of representation and MU Exp makes him seem better as well since people don't know just how easy it is to shut him down outside of Cutt. There's no tricks, no "dirt", just learn what to wait for, forever block low for an entire match, and blow him up for full combos lol. Rushdown characters like Lao can just overwhelm Kano and there's not much he can do. Jax and D'Vorah can beat him at his own game for devastating damage. Kenshi and Shinnok can outzone him. Etc lol. He doesn't do anything better than anyone in the Top 15. He either does something as good or worse than what their strength is, and that is his #1 problem. Like this example.Maybe your right, there is very little competitive showing for Kano. Just that your reasoning behind it wasn't very sound, because if people are picking Takeda and Reptile even though they are bad, why aren't they picking Kano? Makes me think Kano isn't lacking in showing because he needs buffs but possibly for other reasons.
Do you really think Kano would get demolished that hard in a match against some of the higher tier characters, if both were being played by equally skilled players? (not saying they wouldn't, just asking, you know the character better than me)
I haven't actually seen any real quality Kano matches to judge lol
Also, I'm a Kung Lao player now #buffKungLao
-In Cyber Kano has weak pressure, so he wants to zone Jax, but his zoning is so weak in this MU that he can't zone Jax out, and the pressure is massive once he's in. DisAdv MU. Now switch it and place Shinnok. In this MU Kano wants to pressure Shinnok, but Shinnok's footsies and zoning capabilities are so strong that Kano cannot get in easy at all and gets outzoned when attempting it. Tough MU.
This is the problem. Almost everyone can rushdown better, most the zoners zone better, no real mixups, non existent Cyber oki, non existent Cyber/Comm damage, etc. No real strengths which makes battles against most "strong" characters uphill.
Cutthroat likely can hold his own against at least half of them though, and I'd go as far to say that Cutthroat alone is a true "strong mid tier" character. Buffing it would possibly be too much. It just seems that everyone jumped off the boat to bigger things before they got around to exploring Cutthroat properly.
And yea I took your guide to practice mode a couple of hours ago. Literally peaked my interest in Hat Trick.
