General/Other - Bojutsu Bojutsu Kung Jin After-Patch Damage Report (5/14/2015)

I'll post my findings from the other thread regarding combo damage adjustments.


Alright, combo damage adjustments. Overall damage nerf across the board, nothing major as he still has excellent tools. Just need to work slightly harder. I am OK with the changes.

Midscreen Combos Meterless:

111~bf4 RUN 3~bf4 jd4 RUN 3,4~db3 = 34%

b14~bf4 b2~bf4 jd4 RUN 3,4~db3 = 29%
b14~bf4 RUN 3~bf4 jd4 RUN 3,4~db3 = 31%

f24~bf4 b2~bf4 jd4 RUN 3,4~db3 = 29%
f24~bf4 RUN 3~bf4 jd4 RUN 3,4~db3 = 31%

Corner Combos Meterless:

111~bf4 4~bf4 ji4~d4 4~db3 = 36%
b14~bf4 4~bf4 ji4~d4 4~db3 = 33%
f24~bf4 4~bf4 ji4~d4 4~db3 = 33%

Corner Combos 1 Meter:

221~EX db3 4~bf4 ji4~d4 4~db3 = 41%
111~bf4 4~EX db1 jd4 4~db3 = 41% <--- I found it easier to input a d1 before the divekick, same damage at 41%

I know he can, but what about Jacqui? Kano? Quan Chi? Sub Zero? Etc.

There are probably less than ten characters who can punish f+2,4 on block.
I'm pretty stoked I can punish it. It's pretty unfortunate those characters can't. That really fucking sucks actually.
 
Some of my Ancestral combos do 1 percent less now as well. Nothing major bUT eh.

B13xxstun arrow, dash, Njp, load fire arrow, 34, dive kick, run cancel 34xxlow fire arrow does 29 percent instead of 30.

Definitely dropping him. Gg no re nrs

Now instead of KO-ing in 3 full combos, we KO in 3 full combos and one mixup.

30 meterless + 30 meterless + 30 meterless + 10% or more from either low bow spin or EX overhead, which is no longer plus.
Or, we could shoot a few arrows after we do three combos, for the win.
Not a big deal, I'm still playing my game, and I still have an untouched Jax.
 
Look even if the whole cast could punish his f+2.4 the changes would still be warranted. If you have an overhead with that range that leads into 30% combos meterless it should be punishable. I love how you say (paraphrased) "take my damage but not my mix-ups" as if he lost mix-up potential by making the move less safe, it just now has risk.

Who the hell is selling bills saying Kung Jin sucks, he got buffed.

The only think taken away from him aside from the easy damage was the absolute no risk of being at certain range where every single non kung Jin player had to think like an AI and "GUESS" if is 11 into low, 11 into overhead, or 11 into F3, and when we tried to poke to reverse these options he would just NJP

Paulo said himself, there was a bug that was putting him at +2, they took way the not riksk/ a lot of reward he had and gave him some risk.

You won't just throw random mixups hoping i guess by chance, now you have to actually get into my head to get that mixup, and work a little bit more like anyone else and spend a bar to do pretty good damage.

And please stop hating on Scorpion in every variation he doesn't have a safe 50-50 mixups that the overhead was so fast and unseable that was +2 on block, aside he only has 1 hitting overhead, not a double hitting move capable of stuffing armor, and make you fuzzy by blocking because the second hit is overhead and the first is mid. His damaging combos came from meter like everyone else, and if you get hit by something unpratical to start a combo with that's on you.

so can everybody tho so I don't get your point. Anybody who has a combo that does over 33% can.
What I meant is that damage wasn't a problem, it's still 3 combos even after the so called "nerf".
What mattered is how easy and risk free one can open opponents up for those combos.

2 - It has nothing to do with "getting into your head". I've told people since day 1 to block low vs Kung Jin and react to his overhead. Why should I have to get into your head anyways when Erron Black, Sonya, and Quan don't? Cuz the damage? So they nerf the damage and take away his mix-ups?
3 - Spend a bar to do pretty good damage? D'Vorah STILL hits hard and is now the hardest hitter in the game free. She was equal with KJ, KJ could just confirm from any situation given his divekick. Now D'Vorah has an 11 frame low and a 15 frame overhead into mid 40's 1 bar and she doesn't get touched..KJ gets 45% two meter in corner. D'Vorah is a problem man, and I guess nobody sees it.
4 - Scorpion can tele on reaction to everything on the game seemingly. Kung Jin could only overhead or mb bo swing to punish him ONLY in the corner and ONLY if you time it right. Inferno has a full screen 50/50 where only the low can be dashed, the overhead tracks...sometimes the audio clue doesn't even come out and the animation start up is the exact same so you can't react to it all the time. If you don't admit that Scorpion is REALLY f'n good then you're the worst downplayer in the game.

According to the Condiment Brothers, they took away Quan Chi's vortex and gave it to Shinnok. REO already has Shinnok in his profile picture, so... :p
