Yea the overhead, strings, and damage buff are amazing. It definitely covers the rest of the MU's.Agreed. I'm starting out in Cutthroat. I just fear I'll get too used to the overhead. Haven't had much time yet though. Will be spending time on cyber today. Any suggestions before I start.
I've spent the most time on Cybernetics. I would recommend first and foremost worship knives. They are your lord and master. Chuck them whenever you can as much as you can. Dominate against non teleport characters with them. Time them well against teleporters and punish their bad reads. Get down the spacing on when you can trap opponents with EX Knives on block. Explore these knives, as they are some of the most powerful projectile tools in the game if used correctly.
Also, get that spacing down to a science. Kano controls the screen in Cybernetics. Ball and upball destroy bad reactions to knives. Learn when to use them since they are highly punishable. Kano's backdash is one of the best in the game. Use it well, use it a lot. In some MU's if you aren't dominating the spacing think of why/how they pressured you and what you can do to prevent it. Kano has a ton of options in this variation to the point that I don't think he even needs an overhead.
Last but not least, the grounded eye laser is your best friend. It extends combos, but it does so, so much more. Check out your mixup opportunities after landing this in a combo. You'll end up conditioning your opponent to block only. Once that happens you can space yourself, run in for a quick grab, etc. On wake up if you need an armor don't wake up with EX Ball, wake up with EX Ground laser. It's much safer, has armor, and leaves them stunned.
You have to play very smart and patient in this variation, but when you do, it will frustrate opponents like few characters variations can.
