Just some bees, please.
The sole fact that Jade can EX Rang out of ALL of her unsafe "cancelable" strings is a huge buff. On block or on hit. Remember this opens a new door to 50/50s. Imagine if u forced the opponent to block low while you're using an overhead at the same time. FREE launcher.

Why Jade players are doing anything beyond...

b+2 (best anti air)

...ll in which can be cancelable by Staff Throw to push back, or Glow Kick to advance forward and be at least neutral on block, or EX Rangs for mix up on block or on hit...is beyond me. =/

I don't know what it is about her but most people in her forum seem to be a bunch of wingers and it annoys me as she is one of my favourite characters in this game, but I just have to avoid that forum because of the constant whining. She just got some awesome buffs and people still complain! WTH!? "Oh my, you can duck u3, it's all over!" However you can cancel just about everything into a move that has pushback now? You can cancel into EX rang that will return even if they block it? But then "they have an armor move so can avoid the return journey"! Bait and punish! I am eccstatic about Jade's changes personally, taking a reasonable character and making her even better, perfectly fanfuckingtastic in my opinion.

What he means about JC vs Reptile is that up close if JC uses EX force ball one of them misses reptile by an inch and flys over his head no matter what. So F3, 3 xx EX force ball does not work at all. This removes one of his powerful frametrap guessing games/pressure/whatever you want to call it. Even without this reptile is a bad matchup but this just is icing on the cake that makes it worse.

Same thing happens with Ermac too, just those 2 chars and no one else. I'm guessing they are the shortest standing chars =P
Oh. I see. Yeah that does sound like a mess. Someone best let Paulo know asap. Or forever hold your balls...force balls that is. :p

Shortest standing character is Kratos. So if the JC EX Force Ball works on him, but not Rep and Ermac...something else must be severely wrong lol.

his double teleport and smoke towards/away prevent him from being cornered. you know smoke is one of the hardest characters to keep cornered, right?

thank god smoke bomb doesn't cause chip, but it builds his meter, especially when i'm blocking it.

only a moron smoke would stand there and hold parry while i walk up to him. anyone smart would let go of the hold and do something else. nightwolf's reflect has recovery, smoke's parry has very very little.

i'm a sindel main so people often run to smoke once i pick my character and do this the whole match. just saying, even when i do win it's a long and boring fight. i thought that's what was being patched when they mentioned smoke's parry "handcuffing" the opponent.
i've been saying this for a long time but no one gets it: smoke's parry is meant to be a smart counter for people who are paying attention. it's not something to constantly activate. same with jade's glow but people will use them how they want, i suppose.

Yes, smoke is better than most at getting out of corners - but you're not going to do it with a plain smoke towards. You're going to burn meter on an ex smoke towards because that has invincibility and will bring you far enough away to be safe. Plain smoke towards will get stuffed.

Also, shake has a lot more recovery than you think. Good smoke players use the plain version ONLY on reaction to projectiles. Aside from giving away positional advantage when you whiff it, here are a bunch of easy punishes for various characters:

Nightwolf: dash then charge. works from nearly full screen.
Kabal: dash on reaction from half screen or closer (and kabal can dash cancel one dash to get in without issue)
Sektor: TU (also works on ex shake)
Ermac: push or lift depending on range
Jax: dash into lunge punch
Noob: ex shadow

Etc. There are plenty more.

Sindel vs smoke is a shitty matchup that heavily favors smoke. That doesn't mean that a runaway smoke strategy is broken. He can trade positional advantage for meter with that strategy, but he can't kill you with it, and if you corner him properly it'll bite him in the ass.

Again, not only is it NOT broken, it's also a really bad strategy to rely on.

u can dash cancel shake, it is helpfull.

I know that. It's still not safe against a bunch of characters, and you can't just throw it out all the time without sacrificing a lot of positional advantage. There's a long period after startup where you can't dash cancel, and you're still vulnerable during the dash startup.

if the negative edge is tweaked considerably for the better I will maybe switch rain from my alternative to one of my mains. Negative edge can be dealt with during combos, during intense battles....NOO.

Jade players want her to be on panty tier, put armor on her d+1 U+3 D+2

I have played sub-zero players, be HOLDING down to duck the freeze so as to not block it and give him more meter, then the game makes me stand up and I get hit with the freeze. This happens to a lot of people actually yet NO ONE says anything. half the time in this game you cannot consistently get a d1,d2,d3,d4 because you randomly get a standing version of the attack. combos are dropped because inputs randomly drop, etc..

I read pages of complaints about things but not ONE person besides Tom Brady mentioned this problem. COME THE FUCK ON PEOPLE!! WE ALL NEED TO SPEAK UP ABOUT THIS BUG AND STOP PRETENDING IT DOESNT HAPPEN!!

This happens to me all the time! Random standing 1 when I do down+1... Makes me rage.

Played some matches last night.

The dash change messed with me at first, but once I got used to the timing I was able to adapt.

Kung Lao players have to play smart now and not abuse low hat... blocked spin gets raped by even scrubs now. EX Spin still causes pushback, which is fine. Lao is still really good.

Kitana scaling on ground fan is welcomed. The recently discovered 62-68% corner combos from an AA-Ground Fan were ridiculous and easy, so now they do just over 50%. She loses anywhere between 3-7% on all of her BnB combos. Good stuff. I haven't checked whether the Air Xray glitch is still in for her MK2/3 costumes.

Jax is amazing.

Sub-Zero is amazing (RIP Reset).

wow, the overhead isn't that much of a big deal when you learn to not mindlessly hold down block on him, but up close against slow ass characters like Kitana and Smoke, he can mix you up with low shadows or overhead tackles and you can't do shit about it but try to block. This matchup is no longer 6-4 for Kitana, it's pretty even.

The fix on Noob's teleport is SO good. It catches all of the specials that it whiffed on like Kabal saw/gb, Sindel/Liu low fb, Sub Iceball... AND he can no longer be hit on the way up unless you hit him really early. I see Noob's matchups being much better now. I think he wins the Sub matchup barely now with the teleport fix.

Sindel... wow, her 40% punisher no meter is so easy now. I am going to pick her up with her awesome changes.

So let´s say you hit someone with the F3,2 and your oppenent pushes the block button just before you input the nutpuch, the nutpunch will be blocked?

How does kitana's combo damage get nerfed when thats all she has? Her overhead combo starter is a joke and she has no good lows. If she can be outzoned, she's screwed and has to rush down and its hard to rush down with slow normals and few mixups. People kept bitching about Kitana when she wasn't even top tier and now she's probably going to get moved down a tier with the buffs to other characters.


I just picked up sonya for fun and they nerfed her and no mention of removing her d4--rings glitch. Really NRS? No mention of Sonya not getting full combo'd mid string either.. Nerfing a character that almost nobody uses but you buff reptile and sub zero because they are 2 of the most widely used characters? Well I guess that makes the choice for true rush down character easier... sonya and cage get nerfed, jax gets buffed.

All in the while, Mileena gets untouched and Reptile gets buffed? I cannot fathom this. Reptile is fastest path to kicking ass and they fucking buffed him. I feel so dirty for using reptile because of his mindless easy pressure, zoning, mixups, meter building. And now Sindel can outzone kitana and her bnb is 40% while Kitana's bnbs get nerfed. Noob, reptile, sindel are all very annoying to fight. These matchups require a lot of patience, and in the case of fighting reptile, sometimes you're just fucked because he's so easy to use and S-Tier. And they buffed these characters. Sindel needed the buff, but that just means she'll have the option to be a complete bitch from range or now out dmg Kitana up close.. lol.

S-Tier: Reptile, Kabal, Mileena
A-Tier Sindel, Noob, Jax, Jade
B-Tier: Kitana, Sonya

Hey Kitana and Sonya had their turn at A-Tier, lets give Sindel and Jade a shot! Mileena? She'll always be at least S-Tier since you can't zone her, her specials are ridiculously good, you can't punish her roll or tele kick with bnbs when she lands, you need to use a mitigated dmg AA combo, and if she decides to D4 you good luck hitting her with anything but a JK. If your char can't combo off of JK, well, good luck doing any dmg to her.

We're all unique individuals with different preferences, but it sure seems like they want the EZ mode characters zoning characters to be better while nerfing the rush down characters (except for the musical chair buff to jax. Musical chair meaning they nerf one rush down char and buff another)

Should I take the easy path to high level play with Kabal and Reptile, stick with B-Tier Sonya and Kitana, or pick one of the many new A-Tier characters? Decisions.

I haven't checked whether the Air Xray glitch is still in for her MK2/3 .
Could you check this? I've never had a problem with mk3, just mk2 costume, but I've not used that ever since the glitch cost me two matches once.
