Ok man.. please list all the MMH players at these gatherings so that we can all go there to play and level up. Its not even close to all the amount of exposure you could get to Kabal which was the point.
But again, a lack of people who have dedicated themselves to MMH is an entirely different problem than not being able to play people because all the scenes have supposedly dropped the game. You are conflating character choices with strength of scenes. For example, when Superman was an absolute top character in the game, these same scenes would have given you a good amount of experience.

It feels like you're equating apples and oranges.

In general, it doesn't make sense to compare a DLC character to a popular Day 1 release character.

Via your argument, we could say the same thing about top-level Kenshi players (Kenshi was, similarly, a DLC); how many other MK9 players could you someone play and be ready to beat Pig of the Hut?

NY: This was at one time the biggest MK scene. Even towards the end of MK9, NY had one of the bigger scenes. REO, CD jr, CD Prime, Insuperable, Maxter, Riu48, etc, etc.. all quit IGAU. Also, guys like Winter Warz had to move back to Canada but decided that he didnt like the game anyway, so he would have quit even if he stayed in NY.

PA: People can say whatever they want about STH, but this guy was one of the best hosts the community had. He would ALWAYS invite people up to his place for weekend training sessions where everyone would level up and have a great time doing it. He still occasionally hosts sessions where guys like 7L, CVS, AC1984, KT Smith, etc etc still go to play.. However, a lot of the time MK9 is the game that gets put in and never taken out. They just dont find enjoyment in IGAU.

Nova/MD/DC: Kevo, LulzLou, flippin flava, and several others that I dont remember (sorry guys) quit playing. Without a decent size local scene there were no more local gatherings. No local gatherings means no Khaotik, Astronaut, Oxygen, etc come out because there is no gathering to come out to. Instead you get Khaotik on psn, Astronaut on xbl, and oxygen who doesnt play online at all.

Richmond/Sova: Only players left in Richmond are Orochi and Sid of which Sid is only there during the school year. Guys like Adam Lane, Robin, etc no longer play. In SOVA: Blackula hardly ever plays, Hatakeosawa I believe has quit and is 100% KI, Srryimwhite has lost all interest in being serious after the "deathstroke rules injustice" thread, I dont believe Curse has played in a long time, Gruff is ..well.. Gruff and I believe he quit IGAU for DOA5, etc etc..

ATL: Say what you want .. The emergence of guys like Glass Sword leveling up, Saltface joining the NRS crew, and Xeno developing into a great player STILL doesnt make ATL as cut throat as it once was. When Clint, PokChop, etc took the NRS games serious it was WAR!!! In fact, it was ATL Red's Smoke that gave birth to Pig's Kenshi. The drive to win and beat each other was BIG TIME!!! Now: Smarr seems to care less and less every week, Pig is actually LESS angry and at times. Even Tre, who always wanted to get better and beat guys to prove all the ppl who hate on him wrong, seems to care less and less. Players like LOTF, who is not only a good player but like one of the scientists of games he takes serious, dont care anymore either. So, while ATL has emerging players, it's OG's have less fire and some have flat out quit.

Kombat Houston: Its NOTHING like it used to be. In MK these guys were hardcore!! The guys were also cut throat and was the reason why so many of them were so good. IGAU has had a few key guys lose interest which leads to less sessions and not as strong of a desire to beat not just everyone world wide, but most importantly each other!! I mean.. WOW were they cut throat in MK and it was awesome!

Dallas: No more HOG for the time being REALLY hurts. Also, MyGod was a great host in the MK days but he is now 100% KI. Dallas players have died off and locations to even gather are gone. Just little to no interest in IGAU.

Im honestly not about to go through every scene but a lot of them have either taken a hit, are on life support, or are completely gone. Really sucks..
Cleveland/Youngstown/Pittsburgh is pretty dead, too. Granted, a big factor was losing tournaments in the area left and right. :(

It feels like you're equating apples and oranges.

When local scenes thrive, they care about winning. When more people care about winning, the more likely they will pick a top tier/the best character. When this happens it allows more players to get infinite exp vs a lot of the top tiers..
logic seems pretty sound to me. What doesn't make logical sense to me is how someone who doesn't share 1 iota of the level of interacting with the nrs scenes throughout the community history like tom brady has is gonna engage in an argument about the topic.

what top tier has ever been "easy mode" pickup-and-see-results-with to play? We need to get rid of that notion. Almost every top tier takes extensive practice
3rd strike chun li shes shes pretty much definition of brain dead you really dont even have to learn the parry system be ok with her but I do agree mmh takes a lot more dedication get results with especially since he doesn't have tracking normal special moves

Yes this character hasbetter interacatable control than ZOD w 40% combos ending in MB phase shifter granting a free interactable into HKD cross up setups or orb OKi providing 60%+ into further OKi offense ....
I just said the exact same sentence to my girlfriend and she was like : "WTF ?". Did you try ? I'll try with my parents next time.

Zoning Master
KDZ and Rico Suave used pre-patch Superman and pre-patch Black Adam. They received limited props for abusing "broken characters".

If pre-patch Deathstroke had not been patched and if I had won with the character, I would not receive props from half the community for abusing "broken zoning".

But now I am required to get on my knees and worship Martian Manhunter players for abusing a beta character. No thank you.

Again, I lose to Martian Manhunter with Zod, not the player.

I say even the playing field. Give me 8 seconds of cool down on the trait. If they still beat me, I will give them all the props in the world.

GOTCHA
No HOG was really the thing that killed IGAU for me. I hate online and that was my main source of playing the game. Now that HOG is gone and there is only a local every 3-4 months I dont find any point in playing anymore, I know a few Dallas guys feel the same as well.
Maaaaaaan :(. Do you know who all is still playing? I am going to get home for the summer this week & was hoping to get some games with the Dallas people this summer.

You are clinically insane if you think Zod trait needs buffs

Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
MMH is broken. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure that out or a high end courtroom to declare it as true. The ridiculous potential of the character was called out on day one after the final patch.

Broken to me (The FGC term, not the technical term) just means retarded character design, ludicrous special moves, and quite possibly no weakness or completely even rival to the character. I don't look at broken as "OMG NEEDS INSTANT BAN AND 10-0S EVERYONE". Broken is beatable.

Semi-Broken are characters that dominate a large portion of the cast but then lose to some characters.

Bannable is a completely different story. Bannable is what you use to describe characters that 10-0 everyone or are just too strong they cannot lose once you reach a certain level.

You're severely underrated Orbs. They aren't just used for zoning. They bait movement, create set ups, can put you in "do or die" situations, fuel his pressure and rushdown game, set up barricades for guaranteed interactables, bait wake-ups, create unclashable combos, build a ton of meter, cover your ass in many situations, etc. etc.

Now I'm not saying a lot of his other moves aren't ridiculous. Obviously MMH is not a one trick pony. He has access to a plethora of bullshit moves. I'm just saying Orbs are his most underrated asset. I feel like you NEED play as MMH and get to a certain level where you understand and have his "Orb Meta" down to truly comprehend. Too many players don't understand the mindgame and yomi levels of placing a orb on the screen and reading your opponent's movements and reactions. Banking and milking orbs in the neutral situations is fucked up.
Besides the point of the thread, but I don't think it would go a miss to just say overpowered for all of those points in case lol. "Broken" is circumstantial and can be a double-edged sword, even ST Akuma isn't all that straight forward to classify since he was purposefully designed to Rickroll the game.

tell me the struggles kenshi has? if u have good spacing u should win more than you lose.
Kenshi has problems against:
- Characters who's means of mobility wasn't effected by the dash nerf
- Characters who's means of zoning/spacing isn't nullified by reflect (or at least it ultimately isn't worth it to use reflect)

Admittedly if a character has neither of those things going for them, Kenshi is borderline unstoppable, but despite what the Kenshi-activists would have you believe, there's more characters who fall into at least one of those categories than Kabal and Kung Lao, notice why Forever King never pulled out Kenshi unless he was faced with a matchup that was obviously 7-3 at the bare minimum in Kenshi's favor and I believe (I could be wrong) this is what Pig is getting at with the Kenshi example.

As for your earlier point about Cyrax, the only players who took majors with him were those who used a limited portion of Cyrax's full potential, who does that say more about?

Best bet would probably be @OFIDYAN since he seems to be the only one who can host right now.

Dont get me wrong, ill still play when I have the chance, there just isnt many chances to play here right now :(

Best Doomsday in the world
This is interesting because I think Aquaman is better all around but MMH definitely has way more "I body the fuck out of your character like 7-3" match ups. Either one could be first IMO.

Zyphox

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
I would take this bet. But he doesn't play guy characters.
i would too, he's already using a top 5 character, nothing against him, but jupiter and REO would still be better, either way he voted no idk if it was out of spite, ignorance, or cockiness, only way to prove it is to do it.
