Max distance as in farther away for the opponent after being used. at least that how i say it. but i understand how it could be confused.Isn't this the other way around?

I'm new to Shazam, but the f223 string would be good in the corner if you are going for chip. You could do d1 and make them respect it and then do that string to go back to zero. This would work great on Doomsday in particular since the string does not whiff on him and his d1 is 7 frames so if you get f223 off you get to go back to d1.Ok so here's an updated list of chip damages, this includes trait chip and normal chip. I *just* went through each move without trait, and with trait to double check. Let me know if I missed any punch normals.
D1 ==== 2.57% - (0.07 + 2.5 )
D2 ==== 2.66% - (0 .16 + 2.5 )
J3 ==== 2.88% - ( 0.38% + 2.5 )
F3 ==== 3.88% - (1.38 + 2.5 )
MB F3 = 5.81 % - (2.06 + 3.75 )
B3 ==== 3.88% - (1.38 + 2.5 )
MB B3 = 5.81 % - (2.06 + 3.75 )
11/12/B12 = 5.17% - ( 0.1 + 0.07 + 2.5 + 2.5 )
B23 ===== 5.33%- ( 0.1 + 0.23 + 2.5 + 2.5 )
112 =====- 7.9% - ( 0.10 + 0.07 + 0.23 + 2.5 + 2.5 + 2.5 )
f22 =====- 5.2% - ( 0.10 + 0.10 + 2.5 + 2.5 )
12f3 ===== 7.9% - ( 0.10 + 0.07 + 0.23 + 2.5 + 2.5 + 2.5 )
Also possibly worthy of note; If you're in the corner *right* next to someone who is turtling vs your trait, you can d1, d1, and then D2 D2. Assuming they don't mash d1 themselves. This may only work on scrubs tho. A potentially better option would be trait 112, then throw for a total of 18.9% damage, but unless you've *really* conditioned them to fear you a d1 will mash you out of it.
And better than that would be trait 112 xx teleport thru 112, as if they reversal the 112 you're usually safe.
I'll be testing these out as I play more
Okay then maybe you lost me... So when I do the torpedo from full screen it is safer? Or it is safer when I do it close to the opp and land farther away from him.Max distance as in farther away for the opponent after being used. at least that how i say it. but i understand how it could be confused.
It's safer when you land further away from your opponent; if you do it from really far away and you land super close to your opponent it is easier to punishOkay then maybe you lost me... Quick question is this the infamous zyphox I've heard so much about? Flash of america and all that fun stuff?Do you guys think we can modify this dashing tech for Shazam?
What the actual Fuck
There is like 10 Other things i would rather do than play this MU. I have to ask. What happened. How many drugs did they do to want to do this. WHY DIDNT THEY PICK THE SAME COSTUME. Why is everyone now picking Shazam i swear he is only botom 5 ^_^

For real though some of the concepts were arguable way better than the regular Shazam design they had. Regime was cool, but vanilla design was mmmeh compared to some of the awesome concepts.
In seriousness? In my opinion he's just a really fun character to play. His combos get finicky online and offline sometimes, but his high low mixups are fun to implement. He can get really trolly with Torpedo, just go zoom zoom zoom all round! His grabs are just so good! Range and damage wise, albiet their stance restrictions hinder him. He really is a mind effer upper to players experienced and inexperienced against him, granted the momentum starts going. Is he going to win tournaments or even scratch top 8s? Most likely not. But his fun factor for me personally is enough to main him, and for others to at least play him on the side or in streams.There is like 10 Other things i would rather do than play this MU. Same thing for Flash! I like his injustice outfit and the other concepts were good, but the only thing they left out is his yellow boots! That's like his most iconic thing. The wings on his shoes are hardly noticeable.For real though some of the concepts were arguable way better than the regular Shazam design they had. I just wish they had kept his main costume hoodless, the body armor is actually pretty awesome.For real though some of the concepts were arguable way better than the regular Shazam design they had. Regime was cool, but vanilla design was mmmeh compared to some of the awesome concepts.
The problem with his High/Low mixup game is that it's a 50/50 for both you and the opponent. His crossup command grab jailing setups are really nice, but the fact that a lot of characters can just crouch to avoid your HM is really lame. You don't want to toss out AC on the off chance that they're standing so they can full combo punish you.In seriousness? In my opinion he's just a really fun character to play. So yeah, his high low mixup game, fun play style really do it for me. I would venture to say it does so for others as well. The mixup part not the playstyle.
SHAZAM! (Captain Marvel FOREVER)
PS : NRS please by some miracle release a classic Captain Marvel costume, and/or Captain Thunder (Flashpoint) costume.
HM is 17 frames of recovery, AC is 21, so HM is safer, particularly online. I suppose its *technically* an overhead, which would explain the reduced hitbox, increase startup, and increased recovery compared to HM.If my memory serves me correctly, I believe HM is much safer vs a crouching opponent than AC is vs a standing opponent--thus it's the go-to attempt by default.
Once you play with people a lot this happens. Thats why you got to change things up a bit. ^_^Yeah. I just don't get why his HM can't hit High & Low and just leave his AC as a higher damaging low grab for reads and juggles/combos. Shazam would be a legitimate threat with this. As he stands now though, most of his resets are 25/75s, not 50/50s.
I think most people would fall for his shenanigans 6 months ago, but after playing a lot of sets recently, particularly with DragonGod and Grr, I see myself guessing more often and people stuffing my gimmicks lol.
Which is why I consider Shazam an alternate--albeit a SUPER FUN alternate haha.
The good side to the -17 of HM is that if you combo into it with--lets say B2xxHM as an overhead footsie, the blockstun from the first string will make that -17 nearly impossible to punish.HM is 17 frames of recovery, AC is 21, so HM is safer, particularly online. Yeah. I tend to abuse his tough-to-escape setups in lieu of his straight-forward, less-safe stuff. I played this crazy Shazam online last week and he literally used the weirdest, most unsafe setups, but I almost never punished it because I wasn't expecting it. There was some Shazam player--Digit, I think?--at Apex playing similarly. His combos were whack, but so unpredictable that I have to give props.Once you play with people a lot this happens. Fucking Digit. I played him a good amount at APEX. His shazam is really good. And he put me into losers in the Shazam Mirror. He did a lot of nutty shit. But the issue is you cannot do that stuff in some match ups. Like MMH for example.Yeah. I tend to abuse his tough-to-escape setups in lieu of his straight-forward, less-safe stuff. Agreed. Which is why I don't think a Mirror Match shows you much about your character knowledge. I played and lost to Shazam player mirror in an online tournament and all he did--LITERALLY--was D3, Teleport and Torpedo. It was the most frustrating thing on earth and I tried to tell him that stuff won't work offline and won't in most matchups (since Shazam is one of the few ppl who can't really punish a point-blank torpedo). Ya your right. Mirror Matches don't really do much. I didn't know shit about the Shazam Mirror. Digit did. And shazam has trouble Punishing Shazam stuff. Hence why i say Shazam v Shazam is a 6-4 In Shazams favor . But Its tough to deal with Torpedo Online man.Agreed. I'm like YO! cool that you beat me, but those are the WORST habits you could ever have haha. People punish torpedo offline!
