If you're in the lower part of the Fortress of Solitude and you air D3 your opponent in the corner (next to the portal interactable) and try to jump over them while they're grounded, Lobo jumps in the opposite direction. Rofl.

EDIT: Works in Metropolis too, I guess it works with the right corners in every stage.

Same as before: Oki set ups, mind games, good reads. He just has the means to get in a lot better as well as a pseudo zoning game now. Much more complete character now, imo. Also: he hurts. A lot.

so, how exactly do I play Lobo?

like, handling my space, would I be using 3, hook charge, and low hook? best means of punishing and with what (I'm assuming 113/12~Czar Toss to be the fastest punish besides d.1~low shot (trait)).

I picked him up last week and I can grasp the theory of him in the lab but I don't have the patience to learn him online against randoms, so some write-ups or other people to play with would be great, thanks

Lobo's basically a 50/50 character who does well in the mid-close range. He doesn't have a lot of tools to force people to respect him on their wakeup so you have to condition them well, once you get them block, you should be able to mix em up no prob, into a 50-60% combo. You can use B1,2, mb hook charge, and mb pump shot to get frame advantage for either an instant air d3 or a b1,2 to mix em up.

>Practice your string mixups, and combos, also, canceling D1 is a big pain because it doesn't have a lot of active frames.
>You need to command throw, get a good crossup, a good (slow) overhead, or meter for his b1,2, MBB3, to get his HUGE damage combos.
>Use b2u1,d1,21, and 12 on block to go into command throw.

thanks a lot, this will help me out. I know a lot of combos and BnBs, but I'm in the same boat with everyone not named Bane in that I don't understand where exactly I want to put myself and how to set people up for all Lobo's goofy shenanigans

but again, thanks :) i should go play Cage Redfield more and see how he does it, if he decides to not j.d.3 the shit out of me for one game ;_;
 
so, how exactly do I play Lobo?

You'd be using 3 for anti-airing or in the corner, for the most part. If you have full trait, you pretty much get 34% unclashable damage if they try jumping at you (3 xx High Pump Shot MB). You'll want to be using Hook Charge at a range similar to where Czar Toss whiffs, either to whiff punish or hit them with the fastest overhead in the game :v. And as for Low Hook, this is pretty much for clipping people's legs from a distance. Trait Pump Shots are really good now. You can punish an insane amount of shit with this move now, like Soul Crush/From The Deep/etc, and you can use it to check them from max distance. It's 3% chip (7% if you have two shells), so it's real good for that. B12 is also really good. It's range is deceptive, and it's +4. Plus, it leads to huge damage if you cancel into mb b3.

You're basically going to want to use the tools above to play the neutral game, then when you get that knockdown, start mixing them up. Meaty Czar Tosses, tick throw setups, stuff like that. I assume you know the tick throw strings for this character, so you'll want to use those in your pressure, especially 21, since 2 and 21 jail into toss and you can cancel 2 or 21 into low shot/hook charge for a 50/50.

And yeah, 113 is a good for punishing stuff as well as d1 xx pump shot. Like I said above, Trait pump shot is also really good at punishing anything from a distance. In "match start" distance, hook charge works too.

His idea range is "just inside czar toss range - the tip of standing 3 range. With his nuke shot, it really compliments that range.

Hi everyone, I am new to Lobo and started learning him for the 1st time today. I was curious if his forward roll was suppose to go under high projectiles? I never used him prepatch so IDK if it did then or not but post patch I keep getting blown up. I thought that it's purpose was to go under projectiles?

It does, but the timing is kinda weird. It is viable, though.

I would personally say to use the roll to get around a projectile is more about a read than reaction as projectiles are too quick to roll under On reaction, imo.

His back dash is pretty gdlk.

By the way, I can't remember but does hook charge go full screen? Like could you use it to close distance and go straight into pressure like a BlanKa slow ball?
