I just went against a really good Ares and got my shit wrecked. His MB godsmack reset is so fucking good against Raven. You can wake up out of it for a full punish if he does the MB godsmack right after knocking you down, but he can delay it to stuff your wake up, which in that case it seems like you're only available option is to do a MB b3 which he can block.

You can absorb most of his projectiles. If he throws the axe or the sword just soul crush him and it wont trade. You cannot zone him because he can teleport and blow you up. Just try to get to about midscreen range.

If he teleports you can d1 lift for full combo. If he knocks you down he will probably MB Godsmack in which case you have to stand up and MB B3(Which is kind of hard to time, but better than nothing). If he does godsmack while you are standing you can simply NJ it for full combo.

If you knock HIM down then all you have to do is sit there and wait for him to either teleport or Godsmack. More than likely he wont do anything in which case you are at midscreen where you want to be.

Thank you so much for this! Been having so much trouble against him because I have so little experience fighting him. I've ran into a lot of them lately for some reason. I almost forgot he was in the game then I suddenly I'm fighting several in one day.

yeah there was an ares invasion for some reason. i like that char too, if i ever have a serious secondary itll be him.

Idk if it's just me but I've noticed more people are playing supposed "low/mid tier" characters. I used to never play ranked because 4 out of 5 matches was against a batman, and it's boring fighting the same character(s) over and over. But lately my ranked matches have been pretty diverse.

So which characters have a forward dash that is punishable by soul crush after a blocked demon pillar? I know Green Lantern's is.

Black Adam, Zod, Nightwing(maybe), Aquaman(maybe). There's a few that can dash through and black Adam can also jump to avoid soul crush so he doesn't have to give a flying fuck about her frame traps.

Ill be testing every character in like 10-15 minutes when I'm home.

Edit: well never mind my sister is incapable of hitting forward forward down fast enough and can't react fast enough to the blocked pillar to test this correctly so fuck it. Sorry guys.

Lol. Idk how good your sister is at video games but I'm imagining you yelling fighting game terms at some girl who has never touched a video game controller before.

Thanks anyway though. Can you punish Flash's? Not like you would want to try really, since if he blocks it you're fucked.

I wasn't expecting it to work out but oh well lol. Yes you can punish flashs.

PS: I know because I test stuff like this all the time because my training partner gets lazy a lot of times or I'm at home and really want to know.

My opinion on reflectable projectiles:

I'll update this soon. zaf I did not forget!

Aquaman: Trident toss I have not once reflected in a match but if I do ever reflect it I'd mb d because I'm pretty sure it's unavoidable.

Ares: Red ball stuff I just reflect. Occasionally I'll mb if I think he won't teleport but that's rare.

Batgirl: Bolas I always reflect again the occasional mb and batarangs are hard to reflect online and I've only played Reno Racks batgirl maybe 3 games offline.

Batman: Batarangs I always reflect and will usually mb. Trait bats I sometimes will reflect but it really isn't worth it because if he grapples it'll hit you.

Cyborg: Fire ball gets reflect all day and I mb it fairly often but not to much because he can grapple away. If you get the life lead just reflect and let him waste time.

Deathstroke: yeah fuck that.

Green Arrow: reflect that shit and mb sometimes

Green Lantern: Mb reflecting ground rockets is an ok option but if he jumps forward and does an air rocket it avoids both mb option. Mb reflecting air rocket is harder for him to avoid. Reflecting turbine is funny as shit but I never see it happen.

Harley Quinn: every time she fires a gun shot make the first whiff and stand up & reflect, if she mb gunshots then you reflect it & can mb it if you wish. Cupcakes get reflected & mb'd all day.

Hawkgirl: reflect and sometimes mb ground mace. Air maces I rarely mb.

Joker: gunshot just duck, gas can can't be reflected for some dumb reason.

Killer frost: reflect daggers, sometimes mb

Lex: sometimes mb the reflect on his lance. The orbs can be reflect also but if you mb & he does the unblockable you will be hit.

Martian Manhunter: just reflect his thingy and sometimes mb.

Nightwing: always reflect ground burst & sometimes mb. Never bothered to reflect wingdings.

Raven: fuck mirrors & reflect shadow Raven, mb it sometimes

Scorpion: I think hellfire can be reflected, if it can I'd rather just soul crush or dash up soul crush him.

Shazam: reflect & sometimes mb

Sinestro: almost never bother to reflect it

Superman: reflect all the time & mb a lot

Wonder Woman: I never reflect her stuff and I'm not even sure if its possible lol

Zatanna: reflect rings all the time, mb rarely. When she's in trait reflect all day till her trait runs out and mb if you want.

Zod: reflect zod balls but be careful because he can set it up so he punishes you. Fuck quick shot & ground laser can be reflected
