I wont even dignify this with a thought out response.
You, sir, are a cretin of the highest order.
Good day simple one
Funny that you call me a cretin, when you pulled the whole childhood tactic of busting out insults when you can't argue the truth of a point being made.
The truth is, all this fanboy defense of the actual game itself and claims of quality over quantity are pointless since no one played the game for an extended period of time. The truth on this topic specifically will be exposed when the game is released, as I said.
The truth is, this pricing scheme resembles some of the least successful ones, rather than the most successful. Is it similar at all to LoL, PS2, Warframe, TF2, or Path of Exile's pricing schemes, which are hugely successful? Absolutely not, and that's the problem.
The truth is, it's obviously being rushed since it's completely bare bones. There's no story mode and less characters (6) in a released game than even SF2. This issue is groundbreaking in all the wrong ways, and taking a step back more than 25 years.
The truth is, calling this F2P with 1 character free isn't "free to play", considering the developers admit it's not going to have a story mode, your getting basically the same amount of content you get in a demo, except even demo's usually have more than 1 playable character. If the demo's didn't get casual players rolling in, this definitely won't get them either. Especially when they are having mirror matches half the time going against all the other free players... This pricing scheme does nothing to satisfy casuals - that's done through offering them content and/or progression before they start dishing out cash.
You call people "stupid and afraid of change" just because they don't like pricing methods where they have to dish out more money than they would otherwise... Truth is people have no problem with free to pay pricing schemes, as long as they don't obviously give you less for paying more.
Look at the success of all the F2P games I listed above, and you can play a huge amount of the game without paying if you like - and in the end when you do that players will pay you because they want to SUPPORT the game, and they would feel good about paying more than otherwise and do it on their own terms. People aren't afraid of change, nor are they afraid to support developers, they just don't like being ripped off on terms of greedy developers with shady business practices.
The truth is, all competitive players know you need to be familiar with how the entire roster plays and learn tech for match-ups. You can see examples of this watching the streams of any pro players for just a few mins. So while this method doesn't cater to casuals, it don't cater to competitive players either.
How could you argue with any of these points? You can see the truth in them looking at any fighting game that has been released in the last 5 years....
