Why are people complaining that things cost money? Dont we figure this shit out at a young age?

"Oh mommy, can I have a toy?"
"If you save your allowance son, yes you can!"

It would appear that this was lost on some of the TYM crowd. . . Orrrrrrr, they could be stupid.

I seemed to have missed the memo where video games were given away for free instead of profit.

You say that like Capcom's still not Cashcom :joker:
I never said they wern't, but they have lately been showing smidge of ability to change their dumbass ways, but then again people do keep buying their BS anyway.

There better be more characters than that eventually. And there is still a choice to just buy the whole game right? Not that it matters because I'm not getting an xbox1 for at least a year though.

Well, the use of "the first 8 characters" and the many times the devs have already confirmed we'd have "seasons" of characters after launch has me wondering why so much people did not already know the game would launch with a smaller roster and then add the rest of the cast.

They really don't seem to want the tourny scene to take on this game do they...

Man when I think about this character accessory pack I think of Tekken 6. Yeah there will be character costumes, but what if we can customize the characters from head to toe?

Ok, so:
Free: Jago
6 Launch Characters: Chief Thunder, Sabrewulf, Glacius, ¿Fulgore, Orchid, Spinal?
2 post launch characters: ¿Cinder, TJ Combo/Riptor?

My bet
Very sad that the Roster is so small 24 should be the minimum for fighting games on the Next Generation Systems

...another reason why most folks think 'F2P' = 'Nickle and Dime'
Why is it when people pay a full sum, they think its a bargain? But when they have payment options, they feel cheated? Are people really this stupid? I refuse to believe that people are that shortsighted.

Exactly, do ppl really want games like tekken where it takes you ages to learn everything?
If u ever played sf2, u know that 8 characters is no big deal
whats even worse is that people constantly bash this game for not being nostalgic, then they get hit with something nostalgic and then complain about that. . . It must be annoying to developers to see this. People want everything, AND, think they are entitled to it.

maybe I shouldn't have said ppl in general, but from my few personal experiences with 'F2P' models, this is how it always seems to turn out

Fair enough. . . One thing i've learned in 31 years of life is that nothing is free. . . Its a fallacy to expect things to be so

While the roster size is a lot smaller than we have come to expect, I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a significant quality upgrade to what we are used to as well.

I wonder if we have become spoiled with 30+ character rosters on launch followed by a wave of DLC? Either way, im still very excited for this game as they have shown nothing but passion and resolve to make a great fighter. I full expect this game to retain support upon release and they will probably end up with a standard character roster size in the end.

It seems like they have been given a deadline that has forced them to downsize. I'm glad they are choosing to focus their efforts on solid gameplay instead of a large roster. In this day and age, the roster can wait.

There's only so many archetypes in fighting games before you end up with "this guy is the rush down master, better than all other rush down guys" and "this is the zoner master, no reason to zone with anybody else".
