Faded Dreams V

Retired June 2012. Unretired June 2013.
I wonder if their is some undiscovered Smoke tech...
Nobody ever discovered how to perfectly execute the legendary "Fade-Out Telepunch," as I have dubbed it. The mythical teleport that connects on the first hit, but whiffs on the second hit, giving you some sort of advantage. Many say it is impossible, others say it doesn't even exist, but few are convinced that there is a way to perform it 99.776% of the time, but perhaps only the chosen Smoke player can do it.

This happens in every game though, seriously there is hardly a fighter (or any competitive game for that matter) where the early "cheap shit" isn't exploited to the max until people find a way to beat it or something better comes along.

Couldn't this be said for any fighter as well? You find what works best for your footsies while making yourself as safe as possible while you damage or pressure your opponent.

I can't fault Injustice for this because I see it in just about EVERY fighting game, the easiest and cheapest things will be used early on for quick wins.

I'm in agreeance with Compbros here,

Everygame has "cheap shit" which isn't really cheap shit it's just "unknown shit you don't know how to deal with"

I didn't know how to deal with Noel's drive moves when I first played the game, or Arakune's fawking curse where he summons shit all over the screen,

or how to deal with falco's lasers in SSBM. Every game has them, that's what happens when you focus a character with a few strong moves for conditioning purposes.

Using that as an excuse to hate injustice confuses me really.

I feel it's really the roster of the game that's holding it back, like in MK9, I could have fun if I just went to Stryker or Jade or Rain, I wouldn't even get salty when I lost because it was still enjoyable.

There are probably 4 characters in Injustice that do for me (the only character i'm actually crazy about is Shazam, but he's just too different to my coward playstyle), the rest are like "meh", even if they did fit my playstyle their designs are just boring.

It's not even the "cheap shit", because you can still have fun with cheap shit.

EDIT: CCVengeance For real bro? Don't spam this thread, come on.

This is identical to how i feel

I think this is only because most people don't know how to deal with those gimmicks yet. People still don't know how to deal with Supes' breath, GLs missles/lift pressure, Batman's crossup/trait, etc....Once we become more knowledgeable on how to deal with these things then those "new" players are gonna get blown up.

Well than Aris is one of the only ones. MK players dominate Injustice. Marvel and AE players said they were going to pick up Injustice and beat us MK players at our own game. Marvel and AE players were wrong
True. I've definitely noticed Tekken players are doing better at this game than the Capcom players as well. Tekken players have been placing top 8.

I read a couple pages and it was enough for me.

I'm loving Injustice. I'm loving it enough to make up for a lot of the hate the game is getting.

I love interactables. I'm loving them enough to make up for a lot of hate they are getting.

I love that there is little comeback factor. I love the footsies, the depth (yes depth), I love how easy the combos are. Lets be serious here, I'm able to keep my mind on the game instead of timing my reptile NJP.

I love how "pros" get to come in and call people they lose to, "scrubs", because they keep looking for their ex shoulder charge button.

This game ain't MK and I love it for that.

Dash cancel is scrubby
Tele 3 is scrubby
Unavoidable resets are scrubby
+ frame 6 frame armor is scrubby
Random Toasty Boost is scrubby
Combo breakers are scrubby

The best part about it is that I paid for the game just as all these "pros" and my opinion means just as much as theirs.

Pros,

You are the minority. What you think about this game will have no impact on the future of this game. This game will not die because Scar and Pig and "others" think its scrubby.

Honestly, I don't think its scrubby enough for some of them to be as successful as they were at mk.

Don't get it twisted.
"pros" keep the game alive, those who do not support the tourney scene do not keep it alive in tourneys

And i said that my current take on the game but willing to give it my all till after evo to see if it changes or develops

This game is entirely different from MK. This game is closer to Marvel than it is to MK and frankly I'm not seeing any of you playing marvel. Or SF. Or any game that isn't MK or made by NRS.

I honestly want to see capcom, tekken, anime guys pick up this game (and many are) and dominate it and make it a main event in tournaments.

Mannnnnnnnn.............

This post is retarded. Injustice is nothing like Marvel at all. Let's compare Marvel to Injustice shall we?

Marvel is 3v3, Injustice is 1v1. In Marvel almost every single character has a 100% combo, that is not the case in Injustice. The stages don't matter in Marvel at all, stage selection plays a SIGNIFICANT role in Injustice. Marvel is super fast gameplay, Injustice is rather slow. I can go on and on and on with the list, but I won't because you get the point. Don't ever compare this awesome game to something like Marvel again.. Injustice is WAY more similar to MK9. If Injustice was more like Marvel than MK9, than why are MK9 players dominating the scene and you barely ever see Marvel players ever break top 16?!? (Chris g doesn't count, he is an everything player.)

And to respond to the your text that I highlighted red, you will NEVER see that happen because every major is being won by predominately MK players. AE players and Marvel players are trying to pick the game up, but they won't beat us and never will. Eventually after a while they will probably drop the game and call it trash just because it isn't Capcom, and I am fine with that

Yo, can I get some matches against your Sinestro right now? If it's not laggy.

same, i have more fun just going to mk9 and learning different characters :/. Its a good game and all but the online aspect just is not fun anymore, the game needs more variety. They made everything boring to me as well. Like umvc3 had amazing music, the maps were awesome, and when you pick a character the announcer says the character name with so much hype! However in injustice, its just like the most depressing and serious voice ever.

I know lol... they totally missed the old school arcade fighting game hype annoucer voice. This is especially true when you win a match... it just "ends" no epic KO, no fatality, no buzzer, no sirens nothing. You get a kneeling submission. rofl

Well ill put it this way

I know how to deal with my bad match ups in this game w Sinestro

Jump around like a lunatic on rooftop metropolis and throw as many starship enterprises as I can and yes that is very scrubby

I have no problems reading or responding, I like to hear people's side to see if I agree or disagree and if I disagree then I respond with counter points.
Fair enough, i just mean it's like 10 pages of sifting through a lot of posts that have nothing to do with the discussion

Maybe the problem with this game is that it feels like, to me at least, it tried to be Street Fighter meets BlazBlue. It tried hard to fit right in between those two styles of games.

Maybe it shouldn't have been. Either a focus on fundamentals, like in Street Fighter, or a focus on fast gameplay, like in BlazBlue.

It doesn't seem like fast gameplay and fundamentals really works all that well together in a fighting game. You need to focus on one or the other.

That's just me.

I mean, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a focus on fast gameplay. Attacks are one button. Launcher is one button. There are no arrow inputs and all that jazz like Street Fighter and Injustice have.

It feels like to me Injustice is trying to maintain arrow inputs with fast gameplay. It just doesn't work and blend all that well together.

--

King of Fighters is the primary example of how mixing arrow inputs and fast gameplay makes it one of the hardest and most difficult fighting games to play.

MvC3 is very straightforward. One button does this, one button does this.

I think a simple damage nerf and maybe not letting them respawn as quick will solve the problem of stage interactions. I like them and think they add to the game, but I can see in some cases as with rooftop metropolis it can be a bit much.

What happens when people find a way around that though? The game is simply too early to be dismissed as people are doing. MK is 2+ years old and all characters still aren't explored so a game 1+ month old is hardly a time to judge unless the game is a CLEAR failure.

MK is so hard to get into, going on 2 years of solid metagame development you will get BODIED by people who know what they are doing. Absolutely, MK takes skill to play at this point.

Now who the fuck said that in the first month...I'd say it was more about learning KL and dive kicking and 23 low hat and Cyrax bomb trap and Kabal f32 infinite

Like for real, I can COMPLETELY understand people having preferences, that's not an issue at all, hell, in some cases it's understandable. But we're talking about a game that got OD patched to a game that has been out for a month with a lovetap of a patch. And I know no one is claiming they got 100% knowledge of the game at this point; if you do, knock it off.

My point is that you can have your opinion, but always remember that MK had mad issues when it came out, a lot of the same vitriol, and it took quite a while to get to where it is now. Every game deserves a chance.

Who in here is complaining about character gimmicks?

From what I was reading most people are saying they think Injustice is a good game, it's just not their cup of tea.

I like Hockey, They introduce Soccer, both have nets... both have goalies... both have teams and "safeties"

I can respect Soccer, I can fully understand why people like soccer...

But no matter how many times I tell you how I like the momentum Ice puts into your movements, or the rough contacts you make man to man, the tricks you can pull with the puck and the stick. why I like the size of the puck vs the soccer ball.

But in the end it's just tastes. Both challenge your endurance/skills.

IMO no different than me liking the color red, and you liking the color blue.
