The "Boo-Hoo! The DLC is Too Expensive" Complaining Thread

We can't make it cheaper but instead of eating it up with a shit eating grin while NRS laughs we can tell them to not pull this shit with us. They were heiled as the counter to Crapcom (I say that lightly and in character in this moment) with their patching and DLC innovations of last generation. Here they have the same strategy but this time are milking it a little too much (a lot) for my liking.
Or you can just not buy it to show you won't support the practice. Casuals will still eat it up because things like Jason though and casuals ate the bulk of their sales.

LOL... Please.
Please what? They said for IGAU a character took roughly six weeks to make. 4 more characters means more grinding for the team or splintering off. Regardless, however much time went into polishing or balance or what have you is now being used on these characters. Something has to take a hit for these characters to have made the disc.

There are very fiew companies like CDPR (Polish company who makes Witcher games), who for those who bought Witcher 3 (preordered or not) will give 16 freakin DLCs for free in post release, with no money taken at all.

Now that's a way to show love for fans and casuals who support the company. Something like that done by NRS (lets say free skins) would make people really happy, and I would be more than interested to support NRS in the future.

Now 30 bucks for few more pixels on current characters and "new" 2-4 characters that probably could have already be in the game? Thanks, but no.

All companies aren't the same: Cod has 15 dollar map packs every year, Ark sys DLC characters are 7 bucks a pop, Last of Us has dlc weapons for 1-3 bucks. It goes on. Free dlc would be preferable but to lambast a company because they don't offer it is ridiculous.

You know what's really ridiculous? How you are incapable of reading posts. Where did I "lombasted" NRS for not doing the same as CDPR? I suggested that it would be a very nice move for a company to do free DLCs and also said that in my view 30$ for this current DLC is nothing but a joke. Get over it or stop posting posts that makes little to no sense.

You pretty much said they were lying.

Look NRS/WB can charge whatever they want for dlc, it's none of our business (its their business, literally). But some people just can't go spending money on everything that drops, and the 'if you bought a console you can afford dlc' argument doesn't hold water because everyone has to draw the line somewhere, and besides, you NEED a console to play games, you don't need the dlc. I'm sure most tymers can afford the dlc no problems, but I'm also sure some cannot, be it because they are unemployed (hello) or otherwise.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think I remember getting some free skins in Mk9. Anyway, I personally love the work that NRS do. I find the dlc quite reasonable. Though i will be skipping guest characters. But hey, If you don't like it that's cool too.

@Compbros LOL. So I said the truth and you are salty about me indicating that it's possible that NRS is just playing typical marketing games with costumers? You know...like majority of companies these days?

And wtf are you even talking about? I said that 30 bucks for few pixels is a joke to me, and how nice it would be if NRS made something like free skin pack. That's why CDPR example was given.
Your post once again makes no sense as im just expressing my opinion on how 30+ dollars for this DLC is too much in my eyes, yet you are screaming how im trying to bite NRS. Lol, get over it - there are shitload of examples in gaming industry how companies charge people for the stuff that's already in the default game etc. There's allways a possibility, even with your beloved NRS.

If, for example, they reduced the price to 15 dollars - I would be willing to get it despite the fact that Im asked to immediately throw more money just after I already spent 60 bucks for the main game.

I too live in Aus... and I agree its a bit heavy on price.

That said, because its not banned this time (like MK9 was; yay community) and the more I hear news about this game I take a $50 note out of my wallet and throw it at the screen.

I am what you might refer to as a "sucker"... and you're probably right. I just want the game tbh.

The smart stuff!
The thing with Kombat Pack on Steam for me is, that if I wanted to preorder it now to add to my pre-ordered already MK X I would have to pay for Kombat Pack alone more then for my pre-ordered MKX at local retailer. This is rediculouos. WB doesn't take into consideration that not everybody pays in Euros or Dollahs. And thus I'm in position when Kombat Pack would costs me today more then the actuall game.

Now if someone is having to pay an unfairly increased price because of their location, my heart goes out to you. That truly sucks. Though I'm not sure NRS can do anything about it.

Yeah, and this is why I'd appraciate if WB allow in the future to buy individual fighters instead of full pack. Even with prices increased due to location and different currency, it would always be more affortable.
