That is true, but those 3D MKs had single digit entrant tournaments whenever there actually was one. People can give other reasons but tbh those games just weren't competitive because the mechanics and balance were totally broke/bad. I don't want a game that is anything like that for MK10.

I'd much rather have it be like MK9 where it was influenced by MK1-3 and pretty much ignored the 3D MK's playstyle/mechanics (aside from breaker and a few MKvDC system carryovers). It's much like SF4, where it drew most of its influence from SSF2T and ignored a lot of mechanics in the other later SF games, aside from a few smaller things like EX moves.

If MK10 drew its playstyle inspiration from MK1-3 and MK9, i'd be happy.
I hate you, 2D MK fanboys. You will feel the wrath of Bo'Rai Cho in MK10.

Doesn't matter which, so long as they design the game with it in mind. I would want the classic MK characters and dial-a-combo system. Fatalities got so boring and tiresome after the first few times of seeing them that I personally couldn't care less if they were included or not.

They need to get rid of the block button forever. MK10 will lack depth compared to the Capcom fighters if they want to keep the block button.

Block button is only ok in 3D fighters.

Considering you get a decent build of meter if they block your attacks, I reckon it should be kept.

No block + Teleport = Spammers heaven.

The block button is a marquee staple of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Street Fighter and all that stuff is cool, but MK should always feel like home.

no, mk is mk and back to block also ha disadvantages (like auto-block every projectile when you walk backwards).

accidentaly pressed yes but actually wanted to vote fore the block button to stay. MK is MK, youre asking for problems if you try to change mk into what it isnt. mk9 formula works, it just needs polishing.

I never liked the block button.

I would remove it, and replace it with something that keeps the spirit of it, but isn't as powerful. Sorta like a barrier button, you can push and hold it well blocking to absorb chip damage, but it has a meter, and if you absorb too much, you get guard broken or something.
Maybe half the characters have a barrier button, and the other half have a run button lol.

It doesn't really matter though, I understand why they are going to keep it, and that's fine.

Impossible MK is way too fast to NOT have a block button. The people saying that MK does not need a block button dont understand the quick teleports some of these characters have.

No the only things that should carry over is Training mode and overall balance.

I hope MK10 has nothing that Injustice does (transitions, interactables, back to block, etc). If they want to play Injustice they can play Injustice.

MK10 should be an MK game.
MK did transitions first though (MK/UMK-3, MKD, MKA, MKvsDC). :p So only that should come back. ^__^

Example of how transitions could work in MKX: Should cost meter - enhanced uppercut to transition above, enhanced knock away to transition from the side, moves that cause a ground bounce mid juggle can transition below and then can follow up with bounce combo . They shouldn't do crazy damage. But used more as a creative/theatrical option to end or extend combos.

You wanna know what "button" MKX needs?

TEH RUN BUTTONZ!!!!!

Actually, the more important question is "would you like MK10 with dash-blocking?" Yes I would.
Also run button would be cool. It needs to return.

Transition is be nice as long as they dont do extra damage they would stay in the same position as the original stage like in Mk3

Block button is dumb, you all just want to scrub it out is all. Scrub bitches love block buttons.

I accidentally pressed "yes" too, cause I misread the question. Wish there was a way to change my vote.

MK is NOT MK without a block button.

I'd like to see more mix ups (low/high) mid block strings. Force players to actually block correctly at all times.

I want the option.

Similar to how you can switch between default and alternative controls in Injustice.

That would not only force people using BTB to block cross ups correctly while others are not affected but would also make moves like Smoke's teleport not be able to be in the game. It would basically break the game lol

Block button. I much prefer it to stick block. MK has always had a block button as it always should. Not to mention it would render some fatalities, impossible! Lol... Seriously if you reply to that last comment, yer dumbz.

Having both options would be nice. I could never get used to holding a block button on stick in MK9 so i stuck with pad and for Injustice since it allows you to hold back I can use my stick. So having both options would be cool like they have both SF and MK inputs in Injustice.

STORMS You sneaky bastard... lol.

I almost clicked on "No" for the question because I thought it was the same question as the title.

You asked two different questions, meaning that if someone says "No" to one they mean "Yes" to the other..

You should fix this as I'm sure some people said "No" when they meant "Yes" and vice-versa.

If they have both options though, that would mean it would be better to use the block button since it eliminates cross ups.

Block button should absolutely stay! It is MK. And to say say cross-ups dont exist with it than just play a bird-lao lol.

Also there are good fundamental properties to having a block button. IE: It changes your hitbox. Nothing is more badass than being in a block string, such as Jax's F4 pressure, and knowing when to hold block and release it to change your hitbox properties make him wiff and punish accordingly. This aspect of play does not really exist in Injustice quite the same as it would if there was a block button. PArt of high level play was knowing when to hold and when to release block.
-Another good example was Kitana's cutter...if you let go of block at the right moment you get a full combo punish.
