Actually I'm not sure, I haven't seen any of the archive except the top 4 which I was watching live.

I feel awful downplaying his win but seriously, he played through very few if any top players in all of Smoke's really fucked up MUs. It was 5-5s or better the whole way through save a Jax player from the limited bit I saw (i assume tyrant, i dont remember who it was)

Final Round was stacked in Smoke's favor, and Tommy got an excellent bracket to win a tournament from with Smoke. Props to him for pulling it out and taking it, Smoke finally has the major he deserves.

Cyrax because literally his only bad matchup is Kabal. Once Kabal is removed, Cyrax will have no bad matchups, and his brokenness will take over. Sonya would be a beast too though, she would only have one bad matchup to Freddy.

Idk why people are saying Kung Lao, by removing Kenshi and Kabal your only removing one of Kung Lao's bad matchups. Kung Lao still loses to Cage Kitana and Cyrax. And can have trouble vs a good Sonya Sektor or Skarlet

Yet there's been 86 tourney wins with Lao and 0 for Cyrax.

As far as the character goes, sure Cyrax takes it. When taken out of the theoretical realm, and how it actually plays out, Lao and Sonya.

And what about the Smoke and Raiden MUs? Those are bad MUs for him as well.

I used agree with most of those, but I'm high on Cyrax lately and my GGA brothers won't let me downplay him anymore....Jax, probably even. Sonya, yeah I think she slightly beats him. Liu kang is a tough MU to classify, but is probably even. Sektor has all the tools to shut Cyrax down, but Cyrax literally does double the damage when he touches Sektor, so its also probably even, unfortunately.

All these characters can be counterpicked or beaten. They all have their serious bad MUs so the game could be balanced this way but this would mean you would need a team to compete

I don't know about dominate, but I think Cyrax would be #1. He's just got so many tools. His command grab mix-ups, his bombs, his big ass hitbox Net, his Anti-Air grab. It's a lot to handle. Cyrax would be the best, but again, he wouldn't dominate.

Would Sonya have any losing match ups?

Sonya would really only lose to Freddy but would struggle with every zoner in the game. Sindel, Noob and Kano for example would move up the tier list somewhat because of this.

I'd say tournaments would be dominated by Sonya, Cyrax and Smoke if Kenshi and Kabal were banned/removed.

The Sektor MU was considered 5-5 and confirmed by the condiment brothers, after J360s corner tech we can say it's a 6-4 or 5.5-4.5.

Liu Kang MU i use to say 4-6 kang but just out of personal experience,his b3 always interrupted everything i tried to do. But let's say it;s a 5-5

Freddy is 5-5 Cyrax has problems with zoners, that's a well know fact, but once up close Cyrax blows him up free.

Jax is 5-5 and could easily be a 6-4 cyrax

Sonya i have to differ from people who see this even, this is 4.5-5.5 or 4-6 Sonya...

Honestly all those MUs can go either way.

Kabal is the only character that "ruins" the game. But I do not mind him because he destroys Smoke.

Cyrax...easily. Yes some other characters that have good zoning & meterless damage can be annoying for Cyrax (Liu Kang & Kitana for example), but overall he just blows up most of the cast.

Also it's funny that Smoke isn't an option on the vote, despite the fact he just won a tourney. Surely he has way more bullshit than Jax, Sektor, or Kitana.
