Not necessarily, alot of players still grind the heck out of MK2 and UMK3 looking for new tech. Most of Kitana's and Reptile's stuff wasn't even commonplace knowledge until the Live/PSN versions were released (I don't think anyone was aware of all the variations of jab cancelling either around that time for that matter). And tournaments on the east coast (ECT, Summerjam, NEC etc.) still fetch 20 players for those games easily. If MK10 isn't out and MK9 isn't dead in 2-3 years?
Lol don't be silly, everybody will forever think that d1 is the answer to everything in this gameIn 2 years..... i can see some of the tourneys banning characters simply to get variety.
I think people will finally accept Kitana as one of the dirtiest characters in the game.
I think people will FINALLY stop trying to d1 Kung lao's teleport.
you need to block that string low its not as safe as you think. There's nothing special about the mix-up instead but the more Kung Lao players use the 21212 (ending with punch not overhead hat), the more meter they build and that's dangerous. At the moment they're only doing 21 and it's getting predictable. The mix-up itself is very unsafe and a lot of characters can full combo punish both options on block. 21212 is safe except against the fast advancing specials e.g. elbow dash and spirit charge.
What's different by blocking it low?you need to block that string low its not as safe as you think.
also subzero isnt going anywhere lol, that character is milked out imo.
the pushbackWhat's different by blocking it low?
There's something you can do, but it's not 100% safe by any means. If you F21>>ex skull, you can stagger them long enough to use skeletal boost. Ex skull leaves him at +44 but the skeletal boost is 77 frames, however they are pushed back quite considerably (maybe half a screen away) but he could probably be punished with moves that propel characters forward like shadow kick, superman, shoulders, dash punch, etc.Do you think there's a safe way to implement skeletal boost in a match (obviously without the knockdown glitch)? That move is too important to not have a place in Quan's game.
You can actually do it while your opponent is in trance. Its tricky though because you have to time around the exact moment the opponent recovers from it. So by the time they recover from trance should be very close to around the exact time quan chi recovers from skeletal boost and gets it..Ive seen it done beforeDo you think there's a safe way to implement skeletal boost in a match (obviously without the knockdown glitch)? 10 characters can full combo the F413, I'd say thats 10 bad matches automatically.Idk, He may only have 4 Bad MUs and 2 3-7s. Plus he can dominate alot of the cast and goes even with Kenshi and possibly Kabal
His midscreen damage is only low when grounded, but what he lacks in damage he makes up for in momentum and Armor. And now with the 1(2) wiff to GP or X-ray punishes, his Midscreen grounded damage is actually not bad at all vs some characters, JC and Sonya in particular
Jax going even with Kabal has been outdated by months lolIdk, He may only have 4 Bad MUs and 2 3-7s. Plus he can dominate alot of the cast and goes even with Kenshi and possibly Kabal

TBH Bird Lao is the future for KLermac can full combo punish this. i think it will make and break matchups as it builds good meter and if you land the 50/50 you are safe from deadly blockstring pressure against characters who have lethal BSP. (Cyrax, kabal, cage etc.)
That's what I was thinking...something around EX skull but it seems as someone posted, if you time it correctly you can do it during a trance so you recover from skeletal boost just as the trance ends. How come nobody does this? There's something you can do, but it's not 100% safe by any means. If you F21>>ex skull, you can stagger them long enough to use skeletal boost. If Jax goes for F4-overhead smash, can Sektor interrupt with standing 1?10 characters can full combo the F413, I'd say thats 10 bad matches automatically.
Kenshi can D1 shoulder after every blockstring Jax does to get away safely, so I cant see that being even, its not hard to stay within shoulder range and still avoid the dash punch against Jax.
Kenshi is probably more dominant in the corner too, since he can do it meterless and bait dash punches in a range where another shoulder will beat it out.
Rain vs Jax I'd probably give to Rain since they both do rediculous shit in the corner (Jaxs resets vs Rains meterless 55%)
But again, Rain wins midscreen, GP attempts get lightning as a response, 4RH is also a better whiff punisher. Rain doing nearly 3x the damage midscreen is a massive edge.
So thats 12 matches I wouldnt want to be the Jax player.
Jax only has a future in this game as long as people are ignorant on how to beat him.
Nobody knows about it..I picked it up off of Shujinkydink at SCR. Its genius lolThat's what I was thinking...something around EX skull but it seems as someone posted, if you time it correctly you can do it during a trance so you recover from skeletal boost just as the trance ends. F4 OS is the longest gap between any of his options. Its just that you need a punish for that option too, F413 is a full standing combo punish, F4 OHS is an AA punish. If Jax goes for F4-overhead smash, can Sektor interrupt with standing 1?
Is there footage of him doing this? This is pretty nifty actually. Means you can save meter for rune trap later and either get health boost or the threat of increased damage.Nobody knows about it..I picked it up off of Shujinkydink at SCR. Its genius lol
Yes. You have 14 frames to interrupt. If Jax goes for F4-overhead smash, can Sektor interrupt with standing 1?
Either way Sektor is covered against both options. So Jax has no offense at all against Sektor.F4 OS is the longest gap between any of his options. Its just that you need a punish for that option too, F413 is a full standing combo punish, F4 OHS is an AA punish.
Sektor is also lucky in the corner, he's small enough to be able to avoid the 1 in F413, so that string is a complete no no for Jax players against Sektors.Either way Sektor is covered against both options. So Jax has no offense at all against Sektor.
