Black people listen to shoe gaze?! I thought that was reserved for suburban white kids who drank too much robotussin. :-XDavid Gem said:I'm a shoe gazer
Jumped on here to say Tech N9ne's new album all 6's and 7's, so good!some Tech N9ne just to get pumped up for his concert in Santa Cruz Saturday night.
all 6's and 7's
I kinda figured so given the bands that you paired with them in the OP but i thought i would slap them out and show where they got started. :} you can definitely here some of their early influences in the new stuff its just from tighter musicianship, everything is much more on key now I love both old and new. I can say though that after starting with them on those two albums, that when "City of evil" came out i was absolutely shocked. I remember driving up to best by with a friend of mine and we both snagged a copy, got to the car popped it in and were both instantly like "WTF is this????" lol but it definitely grows on youRollTide8569 said:@ goblin bones: A7X's older shit sounds way different compared to the Nightmare album...........too much screaming and shit for me lol, but i like the music. They got some bad ass riffs!
here's another good tune:
Well I'm extremely selective about music. Lush and MBV take the cake for me. Depreciation Guild has about three seriously kick ass songs.mud said:Black people listen to shoe gaze?! I thought that was reserved for suburban white kids who drank too much robotussin. :-X
Fun fact: I listened to MBV, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, and the likes for almost two decades before I learned that shoegaze was a genre of music.
I think it might just become a lo-fi night for me.
wow i used to play UFO! tunes back when he was big into DnB. talented DJ as wellVassago187 said:Love the 12 Monkey's sample
UFO! was the shit. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of mid 90s dnb (UFO was post millenium, but he still had that '96 sound).Kensidj said:wow i used to play UFO! tunes back when he was big into DnB. talented DJ as well
"we're in the pipe...5 by 5" sampled one of my favorite movies ever! fucking loved that tune man! e-ssassin did a remix of that too a few years later that smacked it! people used to lose it when i played either of those!Vassago187 said:I looove that album. This is probably my 2nd fav on the album His use of awesome samples is primo.
tech itch/dom and roland are the dons of dark dnb imo. i remember one of the first shows i went to at the solarium in masquerades in ybor. decoder and tech itch. i remember standing in line and watching the windows flexing back and forth from the bass. they played some nasty stuff that night!mud said:UFO! was the shit.
