Espio, when have I made you think that you couldn't just talk to me directly? No need to be passive. The fact of the matter is that Jade players continue to up-play her for absolutely no reason, as if somehow making some arbitrary numbers more favorable to her will change anything about how good she is. The sooner this community stops LYING to itself, the sooner we can move on and start to talk about how to approach her bad matchups. Do you know how often people in this community say bullshit like, "personally, ive never had a problem with kung lao. Solid 5-5 imo" and it's like are you fucking *kidding* me? Each time this happens, it's a lost opportunity for valuable discussion due to arrogance and delusion.

I do *not* shit on Jade just to be negative--I'm ONLY being realistic so that we can IMPROVE ourselves.

I'm posting in the thread, it's obvious who I'm directing my post at, I'll make sure to quote you next time directly. You have explained no reason why we're wrong on her matches, just said, you guys are wrong.

I don't have enough pride to not be able to admit that I'm wrong, but I will not yield to vague or no elaboration, so sorry I don't take your word for it when I've been playing Jade for as long as anybody and would prefer to come to my OWN conclusions.

I'm not even uplaying Jade at all lol. I'm sorry I don't think 50% of her matches are 7-3 so I'm "delusional "and "not a voice of reason".

If you're serious about helping people instead of posting inflamatory posts, post something constructive and explain WHY a match up is the way it is, you don't promote knowledge by talking down to people and simply saying they're wrong without elaboration.

Sharing knowledge, strats, tech etc is how we will level up, not from grandstanding.

INB4 you mad? Cause I will be accused of this I'm sure.

Did anyone listen to me talk about Jade on Hippo's king of the ring podcast?

I admit her faults - yea, yea, she has a lot. I don't blame anyone for getting flustered and wanting a character with more options.

But I do not mind having a few flaws in a character that just "clicks" with me. Maybe I just have a weird play style. But I like what she has and don't mind her shortcomings.

So you'll never hear me call her trash, or top tier. Honestly, I think she's lower mid. That doesn't matter though. No one needs to agree with me. I'm happy with her.... Yea there's a wish list but fun story, there is for EVERY video game ever made. Really.

I wish the stores in animal crossing/harvest moon/certain RPGs carried more/were open longer, ect.

I wish I could see my feet in all first person point of view games

I want to skip cut scenes. I want to be able to save whenever I want. I want escort missions to stop. Seriously. Just stop it with those. I want a better ending, dialogue, character customization, multiplayer, better music, more DLC....

You see where this is going lol. You either deal with it or go play something/someone else. For whatever reason, Jade just doesn't annoy me enough to move on.

TYM has this attitude with the whole tier-matchup-number-tier-bullshit that needs to stop. Unless we want more drama. Then go ahead but leave me out of it.

REO once told me that a Kitana player can beat him because said Kitana player is a better player than he is, even if the matchup is in Kabal's favor. I'll agree with this statement.

There is no 5-5 or 99-1 or 111-762, only player skill, character tools and what you make of it.

Like a character - do work.
Don't like a character - don't trash talk the character.

GamerBlake90 leave it up to you, Jade council, invite me when it's on if you want me in.

This is incorrect. Player skill is more important than the matchup, but the matchup is still there and worth noting.
Tools, frame data, that sort of thing is worth noting obviously.
But to bitch that you are having trouble fighting against Kung Lao... just do work.

I agree. All these obsessions with matchup numbers are just dumb.Sure you can compare everyone's tools but that's something that you just can't assign a number to.At the end of the day matchup numbers really don't do anything.if anything,it discredits player skill. For someone to tell me that sonya beats jade 7-3(just an example),that would mean that you've found one of the best jades in the community and have them play one of the best sonyas in the community and the end result will turn out to be a 7-3 in sonya's favor(again, just an example). If a top jade player is at the ass end of a 7-3 matchup to sonya then what the hell is the matchup number for all the other jade players when they are up against a good sonya?Would that be a 7-3 also?Bottom line is that the majority of us love this game and we play it well enough to to the point to where we shouldn't need everyone tossing out all these theoretical ratios to tell us wether or not a matchup is good or bad.We figured that out from the thousands of matches and studying we've done since we've got competitive at this game.I know this matchup stuff may be very intriguing to a lot of you guys but I feel as if we put way too much in this game to tell each other that character (A) beats your character(B) because player x *WOULD*beat player y(which is the best of your character) 7-3 *IF*they were to meet up and play 10 matches at their best.We know what tools can be useful and un-useful as well as we may know our opponents options. So why can't we just leave it at that? But instead we have to have a number attached to it to remind us.

I think Espio has possibly reached the same conclusion that I have.
If having a point of view will make me the prey of people who need to lay into somebody for their day to feel complete, I'd rather just keep it to myself.

I originally joined this forum to learn the game.
Guess how helpful people were. I learned more from people online than this site: here you get laughed at if you don't know something, attacked if you disagree and hated if you defend yourself against all that.

This may be my last post for a while.
The conversations I am in, I'll continue obviously.

no offense but thats pretty much how life is period.

again no offense, just my two pennies
My point exactly.
I deal with that shit irl, I see no point fighting a little war on a website.
I'll be present at the kouncil, and then ggs jade community.

But you have to understand you have the 'online' point of view. Sure jade does well, sure frame data isn't the end of the world. So the points you make are valid from an ONLINE point of view. Jade can win all MU online sure. However, I'm one of the few that don't really like MK9 MU numbers since I believe we have to many people blaming character flaws over personal failure.

That being said, you cannot deny the fact that some very skillful people did run jade in an offline setting. Neorussel, TAC, Krazy... (etc, don't be mad if I forgot you!)

In a competitive situation you have to assume that both players are really good. By 'really good' I mean punishing every unsafe thing. Now, I don't want to burst your bubble. But how will you manage to do that WHEN both player have same level of footsies, yet jade gets outdamage at every situation. Sure 42% corner damage is nice, but you take a high risk for a mediocre damage. This character has the same flaws that Gen had in super street fighter 4.

I love playing Jade in casual setting, she's fun! But from a competitive stand point, I'd rather pick Nightwolf over her. And we all know what TYM's opinion on Nightwolf is.
