No real reason to eat a dried grape, lol. There's no taste in those things man.

I'm not serious. I just make fun of them cuz thats what friends do. i understand people are different..
One thing i cant understand tho, is when fools eat cereal..but find it absurd to drink the rest of the milk. JUST DRINK THE REST OF IT..IT MAKES NO SENSE! Lol
Raisins are amazing in some food like couscous for example If you re making a sauce for your couscous and you add them they are going to absorb the sauce while adding their natural sweetness. If you do a Coq au vin with your couscous add some raisins to the sauce you will like it.

Ribeye is the best cut of steak bar none. Disagree with me and your opinion is wrong.

I'm going to take this opportunity to tell ya'll about a guy I went to high school with. Ate lunch with him, good conversation, funny dude. He was also a talented artist with a bit of a demented streak. Calling him talented really doesn't do it justice though. His portraits were real to life and the things he could draw sometimes just made my skin crawl.

He bakes and decorates cakes now.

I figured this one was relevant, though I don't think it's the best showcase of his skills, depsite literally every part of it being edible.

Here's one of my favorite horror cakes he's done for a local Hanted house:

And he pumps out a bunch of these every thanksgiving.

That's a fucking cake. Every part of it.

He's been contacted by the Food Network and may or may not appear on a certain holiday themed baking competition come October, depending on how the interview process goes. I think he'll murder any competition they put in front of him.

And now I'm gonna plug his instagram, which is Cakesbydill, because he deserves it.

My cooking skills aren't much, but I do have 1 sick recipe which I've perfectioned over the years and it's fucking amazing. I call it "la Brodaglia", behold!

Now I know it doesn't look like much, but damn is it good!

The stuff inside is: canned beans, canned spicy tuna, sun-dried tomatoes, sweet red onions, peppers, pecorino cheese, raisin, vegan aubergine-flavored burgers, boiled eggs and smoked speck (an italian ham based product). To be flavored with salt, oil and balsamic vinegar, and eaten with spicy croutons and either beer or Chinotto.

...my Masterpiece.

I find food cooking shows relaxing but now it makes sense because of ASMR vids and cooking ASMR vids especially. I love pizza, especially NY Pizza mmmm

Do the ASMR thing really relax you? I saw a couple of that videos and they made me wanna kill someone.

Skewing off topic, but if you want the relaxing shit forget ASMR, and go watch haircut/shaving videos on Youtube. It might sound weird but it's a way bigger thing than you think, there are channels with millions of subscribers just for that stuff.

Haircut and Shaving vids can also be ASMR lol, lots of things can be defined under relaxation and/or ASMR depending on the person. Some things though can have that relaxing or ASMR effect but may not be an "ASMR video" per-se, like in my case those oldschool cooking shows had the same effect on me as some purposely made ASMR videos. Some people don't understand it like some of my own friends, while others totally get it. Varies by person. I enjoy food shows for both reasons personally, they're great for learning how to cook things while very relaxing and enjoyable.

Yeah, see the thing about ASMR is different things work for different people. There's lots of misleading and mocking vids out there about ASMR and some things like MUKBANG videos where people eat and you hear them chomping for example since this is food related, that's actually one ASMR that works for people where the chewing, crunching sounds relax people but some people find those vids weird or not relaxing at all. I've heard some people say watching Joey's world tour makes them want to do that lol but not so much ASMR videos, at least the more serious ones. Which one did you watch?

I saw one of people eating i think potato chips, another one of a woman speaking really softly, and I recall the shaving one too. All of them got on my nerves.

It's not for everyone, I don't watch the eating ones but the speaking softly are pretty awesome. Plus a lot of the ASMR chicks are pretty hot so that helps lol Sometimes they do cooking vids too.

I gotta agree with Omega here: that shit's weird! Expecially the speaking softly ones. I like that the girls are cute don't get me wrong, but of all the things you could watch with cute girls... that?!

ASMR videos are the kind that if someone catches you watching them, you'd better quickly switch to porn because that would be easier to explain.

Everyone is different with ASMR, to me I don't think it's weird. My close friends, one gets it like me including relaxing tingles on the back of your scalp(it's hard to describe) but you ever have that feeling of being super relaxed getting a haircut or massage? Kind of like that. Another friend feels indifferent about it, and the other thinks it's weird.

I find it quite relaxing and also helps me sleep, like Bob Ross is considered the forefather of ASMR because he was so calming while painting the way he spoke. I think someone said with the food ASMR vids, they're awesome because they make you hungry and tired at the same time.
This video has no talking but is fun to watch, well if you like cake.

Here's a question though..let's separate the men from the boys. Assume all ingredients to be absolutely top quality. how do you all like a good steak prepared?
Rare or medium/rare, depending on the standards. Added pepper, garlic and just a little salt and olive oil.

Let's revive the old pizza debate:

Chicago or New York?
I'm non-american, what's that debate about?

I cook occasionally.

Doing Chicken Florentine Crepes tonight or tomorrow. Just made pocket potatoes for some friends (and myself) and have agonized over rice pudding recently, with a ton of posts on the site to that effect..

Interestingly enough, I have moved on from my original rice pudding tests and have been fiddling with "Mexican" style rice pudding.. arroz con leche? Is that right? Whatever it's called it's vastly superior imo.

Not a huge fan of a lot of South American foods and such but that's mostly because of very little exposure to the real deal, mostly just recreations and bastardizations.

I'll post some recipes a little later

This isn't the most common method or preference you'll hear, but I've got some tools and know how most others don't.

First off, my favorite steak is the Flat Iron. It can't be beat as far as price/quality ratio if you know how to cut them. I like to season with just the simple stuff, salt, pepper, and garlic. Sear it on the grill or in the pan, then I throw it in my electric smoker with some hickory chips until medium rare at 225. Takes about half an hour to reach, usually.

Works amazingly well, and really is just a slight twist on the basics.
