It sounds kickass, idk why i never thought of preparing anything with a donut crust (except of course Luther sandwiches) .... Is there a recipe or just pictures? How's DJ been doing btw? He's so hasn't been active in the kommunity much since I joined then after about a year he just seemed to stop being interested. Did he just get bored of gaming?

Cooking is one of my favorite things, but I've been a piece of shit lately and have only made 3 dishes in the last 2 1/2 weeks. My pictures are never great, as I don't care about presentation much, but these came out decent. Tastes great too, especially the first 2

Chile Colorado with Spanish rice and refried beans, all homemade, with avocado and roasted onion and jalapeño, which are charred on the outside and juicy in the middle. I learned how to make the Chile Colorado from my friend who showed me in his restaurant. The recipe comes directly from his mom, who lives in a tiny village in Mexico. This was my first attempt at making homemade refried beans, and I will never go back to the can. Such a huge difference! And of course, sour cream, fried corn tortillas, and elote, which isn't pictured.

I love Asian stir fried noodles, and I make variations on this dish often. I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where there are tons of "ethnic" grocery stores, so I went to an Asian market and bought fresh prawns, along with random sauces and oils which, even though I can't read the labels, look kinda gnarly and should make for fun experimentation. Preparing the fresh prawns was fun; peeling the heads off and seeing their brains explode in an orangey/red gooey mess, like a Mortal Kombat fatality, was enough to freak out the gf and make her leave my kitchen. Nuisance avoided! The vegetables I used were pretty standard, except I recently discovered that I finally like water chestnuts - their neutral, juicy, and crispy flavor/texture variation worked perfectly with the spiciness and texture of my dish. I topped it off with more sesame oil, Sriracha, and sesame seeds.

Now this one was a little disappointing, only because of the homemade baked beans. I tend to get a little overambitious and fuck shit up by doing too much. I boiled navy beans until they were tender, then fried chopped bacon, half a red bell pepper, garlic, and jalapeño. I then took the bacon out, drained the fat, and deglazed my Dutch oven with chicken broth. This is where I fucked up - I used a technique that I learned from making Indian food by using tomato paste to incorporate all the vegetables, but by using that, along with worcestershire sauce, the flavor became way too bold and the texture too thick. I added mustard powder, the obvious seasonings, molasses, brown sugar, tomato sauce, more chicken broth, and put the beans and bacon in to simmer for about 20 minutes. Lastly, I baked them for about 2 hours on about 300 degrees, give or take. I made this with my girlfriend in mind - she's allergic to onions, so instead of using them in the overall cooking process, I sautéed shallots in my cast iron pan and mixed them on my plate. Meanwhile, I had a pork roast in my crock pot for 12 hours, with the obvious vegetables, and the gf made cornbread out of our favorite brand - Simply Home Kitchen. The pork roast and cornbread turned out great! Baked beans will be better next time

Gotta revive this thing again!

I finally got a fancy new food processor, so I decided to make homemade salsa verde. I roasted garlic, tomatillos, jalapenos, and an anaheim pepper in the oven, and pulverized it with cilantro, half a red onion, and half an avocado. To go with it, I made mini bacon and cheese quesadillas, which I fried in the bacon fat. Good as fuck
