NRS is part of a company whose purpose, apart from making games, is making money. If that means skins on sale for arbitrary timeframes, maybe to force users into playing the game, or packaging skins with DLC characters, maybe to force people into paying for something they might not really want, then that's the way they're playing the game.

But if you don't like, don't buy it!!

If you really have to make a scene about it, maybe try their facebook/twitter/reddit's etc, as they seem to be much more active over there, and they might possibly take note of everyone's outrage.

i am pretty sure everyone would like to grind for them instead to purchase them with real money but its a limited event so when you dont have your crystals now you are fucked. as i already said it would be a different situation when you could get them constantly.
compare the price of these costumes to the last horror pack. it was 4,99 for 3 customes with bunch of color variations while you have to spend 910 time crystals (when you unlocked the other stuff) for two colors of one costume! thats 9,99 for the 1150 pack..for two colors of one custome!
time crystals for what you get out of em are to expensive...even you shouldnt be so blind to see it, its not about getting stuff for free but being reasonable.

Yeah, I'm not really sure about that being true. There is no credible source and it could very easily be a fake considering it's just a random post somewhere with no proof provided. But it's obvious this was going to be a skin pack. Each pack so far has had three skins, this is three skins. They did a klassic pack with the males, so obviously they would do one with the females. It was 100% going to be a skin pack. They either scrapped that and demoted them to crystal store purchases, or they are basically trying to scam people by making them buy them now with crystals when they are going to be a pack later (like the post claims). This would make people buy more crystals, or use the ones they have been saving... which means if they drop more crystal store skins later, you WILL have to buy them with money. Either way = more money for NRS and WB.

This is why I don't get it when people say "It's not a big deal, you can get 10k crystals easy for free". They are splitting up each character into two sets, and each set costs about 1,800 crystals or so (assuming you don't have the gear). That's over 10k crystals if you want ALL of the sets they are releasing with just THESE skins. What happens when they do this again, with say, more klassic skins? Or the Region exclusives again? Or just new skins in general? Are you going to pull another "free" 10k crystals out of your ass? You WILL have to buy them. Which is a shame considering the $40 kombat pack, and any non-KP skin packs (like the Halloween ones), maybe Kombat Pack 2, and any other DLC that has or will be released that you might've bought. Not to mention the $60 base game. It's just too much to ask, in my opinion.

The Klassic skins weren't free in MK9. You had to buy them, even tho they were already on the disc in the Challenge Tower.

They added some of the Klassic skins with patches like MK3 cyborgs and MKII Noob. But the MK1 skins were already on the disc and then sold later. They were also pre-order bonuses, but they were retail exclusive. So you could only get 1 per copy of the game

Maybe they would like to grind for them, except that people are complaining that there's too much grinding in the game. So then they give you the option to pay for it in lieu of grinding... and then people complain about that too.

It's a limited event yes, and using scarcity as a means to drive sales is a common concept. You know, like "50% off Sale, 1 day only!" It drives people to make a commitment maybe without completely thinking it through due to the time factor. You might call it unjust, but it's been going on a loooooong time.

So back to the point, if you don't have the crystals, pay for it with real money. If you don't want to do that, well too bad, you'll have to wait till it drops in price and/or comes back maybe as part of a ToT or krypt event etc. And when it does eventually end up as a Krypt event we get to do this all again, with people complaining they paid for it and got stooged, big bad NRS bla bla bla.

The world isn't going to end just because you couldn't get a skin for a character in a game.

Second last one is basically what these skins are right now. I'm sure they will be available somewhere else in the future but right now, only through Krystals.

funny since you seem to make a bigger drama out of it then it is. people complain about the price of it since its to high compared to the rest of the dlc pricing. you disagree, good for you. feel free to buy as many time crystals as you can so that nr gets the money back which they "lost" due to some people payed less for the game by buying it later.

Was throwing a little shade at NRS over their microtransaction practices, which I usually don't care about or comment on, but in this case I found the "present" comment to be a little funny. Really isn't a big deal to me, and the skins I don't care about either.

I feel your petty comment is unjustified, yes, but I'm not mad or hurt over that shit lol. If you are saying that because of my TYM Mod comment, that's because I find it to be kinda true. Always seems like mods are very quick to defend NRS, but that's fine too, you can have whatever opinions you want. Never said it was wrong, just saying it always seems to be.

You're making assumptions that are false, I'll call out NRS whenever they do dumb shit and I have a lot in the past, but some things I think are fine and that does not make me or anyone else a shill for thinking that. I constantly complain about how dull the female models are and how boring the costumes are and I'll cry about Cassie not having abs like she deserves 'till the day I die. But to me, in any game, microtransactions are fine as long as you can earn the in-game currency by playing, and you can, so I see no issue.

 

For me, I've earned about 4000 or 5000 Time Krystals playing the game since launch, and have had next to nothing to spend them on. This gives me something.

Like any premium in-game currency though, I'm going to continue to ration it for what I really want and not blow it all. I don't play as Skarlet, so I'm not going to get any of her skins.

This. I'm gonna buy the bundles for all 3 of them, but not the ones with the klassic solid colors. So, basically just the first 3 packs that are gonna be coming through first. That's just because I don't like the solid colors as much as the green, red, and blue with a little bit of black on the sides.

And then I'll buy the skins if/when they become a pack that I can buy with real money or if they put them in towers or whatever they decide to do with them.

And I'm sure I'll still have quite a few krystals left for whenever they decide to do another event like this. (COUGH COUGH RUSSIAN SKARLET FFS PLEASE)

I'm also just gonna close my eyes and pray that we do get the klassic MK3 skins for the females. That's my favorite of any of the klassic designs with the bun on top and everything. Ugh. I need it.

 

Another thing you can try to do is grind to get the gear + victory animation that comes in the bundle so it'll cost less time krystals.

Like, for Jade today. I already had the victory animation for her, but I didn't have the staff or the razor rang that came with the bundle. So, I decided to grind the towers to get those 2 pieces. It took a few hours though.

So, it went from like 2,000 time crystals for the entire bundle to 910 because I had victory and got 2 of the gear pieces.

And I'm pretty sure Kitana doesn't have a new klassic mask. It looks like it's just gonna be her "Royal Mask of the Kahnum" mask which is basically the same as Skarlet's and Jade's except it's got a silver lining at the top. So, if you already have that, which I do, that's one less thing to spend krystals on.
