Breakthrough - Grandmaster The Eulogy of Thomas Brady: R.I.P. SubZero 2011-2015

Pnut

Mouth of the Illuminati

This thread is dedicated to the remembrance of Thomas Brady. He uses this name because of his feeling that he's clutch. For years he was the self-proclaimed Sub-Zero of the World. We will use this for remembering Tom for who he was.

Taking a look through the era of Tom we will take note of a few key points:

MK9: A few key moments here to note is how Tom always claimed he could compete with the best players in the world. He was never allowed to compete with them and level up because he "Couldn't enter MLG". He also made the tragic error of not playing Sub-Zero at any EVO. Because of this he claimed it was that mistaken judgement as to why he could never do well at the biggest tournament in the world. He to this day claims he was a top 10 MK9 player throughout history by exaggerating the amount of top 8's he had. However, there were a lot of good moments to this as he does have a tremendous amount of scalps. He has beaten top players such as Curbo and Showtime. He also proved that he was the best Sub-Zero by annihilating DJT in the mirror 5-0. There was also a story that Tom had to play King on his birthday and how it was "too bad." But NO ... Tom proved that he was the legend he is today by beating King so bad that he closed down the entire mall ... and Tim Static has never been seen again. Rumor has it that he is buried in the pile of rubble that is Tom's destruction.

Injustice: AQUAMANNNNN

Here we find Tom playing undoubtedly one of the best characters in the world. However, because of his shortcomings (and "Black Adam"), he decided to start downplaying. As a result, the community was sold bills such as "Trident Rush isn't very good", "If Aquaman still had safe scoop, he would be a top 5 character", and "Take out the hard-drive and I'll show you how to play Injustice." Then came the era of Tom not getting games. Poor Tom, no matter how hard he practiced, he just couldn't find people to play against. But through this period there were times where Tom DID get games. But according to him, it wasn't REALLY Tom. According to multiple sources, there would be messages such as "Hi I'm his brother Steven, Tom just got home so I have to go." Keep in mind, this was after Tom lost a set by a mile. Tom also proved here that he could be successful. He won one of Injustice's first majors: ECT. He also beat one of the top 3 players of all time in Injustice. No one gave him a chance, but he persevered giving us epic gestures such as this:

and

Look at that head-shake ... the head-shake of victory. He would then go on to place top 8 at WinterBrawl beating Zyphox. At Final Round: he would beat the Evo Champ himself KDZ while 16Bit yelled "Send him back to Jersey in a body bag." So while there were ups and downs ... Tom proved to be a valuable character in the community throughout Injustice.

MKX: The Clone Doesn't Work

Tom Tom Tom ... The Mortal Kombat X era began with The Fatal 8. Tom went there as a commentator and looked to spread his tester wings in the casuals. This is where he claimed to have beaten beat Sonic Fox 20-1. He would continue to spam this through the life of the game. This comes in contrast with hounding Texas pot bonuses against people playing the game for 3 days while claiming to play the game for months. But his advantage wouldn't last long ... a week later he wouldn't even place at the first major for MKX losing to WonderChef and Footwurk. But again Tom looked to his character as the source of the problem. He would make oodles of threads claiming that "The Clone" wasn't functioning properly which led to this legendary video:

This prompted the clone to get changed to now working properly. While Tom hasn't found success yet in MKX, there is still time. He has proved to be able to beat good people such as Dizzy and Tyrant. He also did what multiple EVO champion Carl "Perfect Legend" White couldn't do, get games on Sonic Fox in a FT13.

So with this ends the era of Sub-Zero (according to Tom). There were definitely more ups than downs, but there is no doubt that this community would be worse without Tom. So with this, I will say thank you Tom. But this isn't the end, it is time for a new beginning. It's time for Tom's favorite character to join the fray with Kombat Pack 2.

It is time for Bo-Rai-Tom.

Spammer. Crouch walk hater.
The only reason cassie didn't get double flawlessed every match is because sonic can do perfect instant air guns. Only, reason.
