With Master Raven coming in, do you guys have any clones/semi-clones/remixed characters that you like better than the originals?

What is the execution like in this game in terms of difficulty? I guess in comparison to MKX. Does it vary a lot between characters?

I liked Baek's moveset and character more than Hwoarang's. P. Jack is best Jack. Both Laws are tied for me. I just hope I can wear Forest Law's P1 costume. The blue and white one.

Roger Jr is superior to Roger.
And Alex is the superior boxing glove wearing animal.

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
I just dislike everyone that came after T5.0 except Dragonuv because of the change in the newer fighters. There's always been your Kuma's and company, and they have their purpose. Those OG characters you mentioned had a legit fighting background. For example, Law is a Bruce Lee ripoff and utilizes Jeet Kun Do, Bruce Kickboxing, Ganryu sumo, and Baek Taekwondo. Their skill set is based off of real life fighting styles which makes it much cooler for me to watch and play.

The direction changed though. In T1 and T2 I thought it was the best game ever back then because it felt "real" in comparison to other fighters. VF too actually lol. T3 brought new chars like the G.O.A.T Bryan Fury, Eddy, Hwoarang. T4 brought the likes of Marduk and Steve. T5 brought Asuka. But then, then. Then. It started to all go downhill. We started getting "no actual fighting style" Lili, I win with "Badassness" Miguel, "the more I eat the higher my tier" Bob, "I scream as loud as my moves" Lars, etc. Went from legit fighting backgrounds to "them" lol.

I'm too old school to enjoy the fun characters. Hell I'm still maining Bryan 15 years later lol! Real life vegetable smoothie drinking kinda guy so I need my traditional characters over these fun ones. Grinch style.

I like how they did it in T7 though. New chars like Josie and Kazumi that really interest me, while adding new chars like Lucky Chloe and Claudio that I wouldn't be caught dead using.

Your words moved me. I feel the same way. Everything you said and more.

YI'm STILL maining Fury, Hitachi, Kazuya. I like some of the later released characters like jinpatchi, Lili, Draginov, Jun & zafina which I'm spend at least 2 hours each day learning these new upstarts.

I'm in the same boat. I got years on me and It's so bloody hard to remember all this. But man the new characters now and Kazumi coming in Tekken 7. Mmm Mmm Mmm. Can't wait. I'll definitely give her a try for sure.

General game play like movement is harder than NRS games. You also need better reactions, though that's changing in T7 with stuff like throw breaks being made easier. Character execution varies between characters. Anywhere from difficult execution and complex move sets to very simple characters. For example, I hate complicated or difficult to play characters and my character is VERY simple to play. She doesn't even use motion inputs. There's pretty much something for everyone.

Baek came before Hwoomerang, actually.

Alex isn't just better, Alex is God.

it varies, but this game is less about execution and more about reaction, timing, and awareness. Awareness of not only your space on a given stage but large move lists filled with very situational strings and attacks, and your opponents position while both actively fighting you and being juggled by you.

This game enforces muscle memory so the large command lists and situational stuff becomes second nature after a while once you get into the groove.

Cool thanks for the input. I enjoyed tekken way back in the day on ps2 but it was super casually. I'll have to pick this up when it drops on console.

P. Jack's original outfit was this:

You already know the TTT2 one.
I actually looked up some outfit history a little bit after posting. The drill thing didn't click when I was looking at it. Doesn't help that tekken 2 was my first tekken. I had the pleasure of only knowing the cool P. Jack.

I did make a construction bot in TTT2. That hook spin combo ender was too good.

A few for me.

Anna was always one of my favorites and one of my top chars in T5 and TTT1. Where as Nina I never really got in to even when I was interested.

Bryan Fury was the GOAT a upgrade from Bruce (even though Bruce later came back)

Speaking of Bruce, Josie would be my main if not for Bryan, but I will secondary her. I played Bruce but never on the likes of Bryan and Josie.

Raven was always ultra lame to me but Master Raven looks kinda cool.

Haha we're one and the same. We agree on a lot of things lol. Kazumi is definitely the most interesting non Josie char for me.

This has always confused me. See in Tekken I've always been able to break throws. It's like I can see it, feel it in a way, then see the type of throw, and then use the proper throw break. Sometimes I can break many in a row on reaction match after match. Never thought it was an issue.

But then I play other games like MKX or SF or etc and break throws like 20% of the time, and can't react to 15f 50/50's. How if throws are faster? How can I consistently break throws before they made it easier, which are faster than say a 50/50, and some throws are 33/33/33 because of 1+2 breaks, but can't do the same in other games to slower stuff???

This question has plagued me for years lol.

No. I will forever be salty about Bruce being replaced by Josie. Marduk being replaced by Gigas is also a bummer.

Bruce was probably my best character and I consider myself as someone who is very near to absolute and complete mastery of the character. Players/characters I wasn't able to beat with Heihachi, Kazuya or Bryan, I was able to completely destroy with Bruce.

I think Bruce being replaced has something to do with the popularity polls Namco did, Bruce was getting hardly any votes at all + he was a character who specialized in breaking the flow of the match, forcing neutral/disengaging from range 0 and just generally being extremely unforgiving towards any type of predictable flowcharty jab/df1/high crush low poke/sidestep autopiloting and thus with the game catering more to the casual audience Harada maybe thought that he just couldn't afford to let nubz eat CH b2's and backdash bf4's for the slightest of mistakes anymore.

I will never again know true happiness without CH b2 or whiff punish bf4 in my life, or abusing db3+4 on oki, then that one time deciding to do a bf4 instead and catch someone ducking aaaaand what else is there that Josie will not be having... I don't want to watch a bitch cry after I win, I want a simple shrug combined with a simple grunt and "Mmm!", "Sho!", "Shupo!" during matches :D

vegeta

Saiyan Prince
They killed part of the hype for me as they keep nerfing jin in Tekken 7 FR for no damn reason.

There will reach a point the character will probably get removed from the game.
? What else got nerfed? And I doubt that'd happen unless he went Talim status and got so bad every game they eventually take him out. He wasn't always high tier in games but the lowest he usually went is a solid mid tier

All of the above...

Plus, he was the coolest.

I played Scramble Battle and he was a beast.
Honestly playing Heihachi + Kuma in that game was some of the most fun I've ever had playing street fighter. Kind of sucks that the entire move sets will never be used again.

I didn't mean only in T7, I meant in general.

You got your straight clones, new character same stuff as their predecessor, no real variations:
King II, Kuma II, Armor King II, Christie, Panda, Tetsujin, Roger Jr, most of the Jacks.

Then you got your semi-clones:
Angel, Forest, Julia, Gigas, Josie, Master Raven, Alex, P. Jack, Anna, Asuka, Tiger, Sebastien

And then remixed characters:
Slim Bob, Devil Jin, Devil Kazuya, Jaycee, True Ogre, Violet, Unknown

Characters like Bryan, Kuni, and Jinpachi(all the Mishima's, really) are in a weird grey area.
