Street Fighter V General Discussion

I know after a hit everyone's vtrigger allows you to follow up with more hits, but how about on block? Is everyone plus if they cancel a blocked hit into vtrigger or is this character specific?

Who's everyone trying to main in Injustice?

I'm all in on Darkseid with a side of Swamp Thing and Bane.
I've never successfully picked a character before playing them. I dunno there's just always something intangible that causes me to switch. I've never stuck with a character I've decided to day 1 main, even if they're good. I just don't know what I want I guess.

That being said I'm going in on bane, flash, and scarecrow first. Banes trailer made him look like a borderlands villain, flash is my favorite superhero, and scarecrow looks like he's got the most gameplay potential.

I've always liked superman, not a big fan of batman so I might lab sups first. There was this female on the first injustice that looked ok but I don't know if she's returning, she was the magic character with a magician hat I think.

It's all so very confusing.
Demon flip 'discussion' is best. What the actual fuck. Deep breath, and.... Moving on.

I can't pick a main in s game I've played for a 100+ hours.. I damn sure can't pre-pick, but, Robin, Bane, GA, Swamp Thing, Deadshot, Random Select.

@ILuvFightGames MKX and Injustice are alike yes. They both have large fundamental differences (back to block vs block button for instance) but they both rely on canned strings with a functionally similar juggle system, they both use a simplified input structure (d,f, button instead of qcf, button) and, at least was the case with inj1 and seems to be the case with 2 based on what I've *seen* they have a similar feel and sense of timing.

They certainly aren't identical, but id be willing to bet that every hour spent in MKx will serve you better than every hour spent in SF, when Inj2 drops.

I didnt play it a lot, no. Just a few dozen sets over the course of maybe 5 weeks or so and my opponents ranged from a couple total newbs like myself, to very competent, long-time Injustice players who know the game in and out.

I actually *really* enjoyed the game, for what little I played. The netcode was its own special kind of terrible bullshit, but the new game wont have this issue. The more I played the more I regretted not having played the game during its heyday. Injustice 1, by all accounts had a ton of issues but underneath that was a game with a ton of personality and a lot of really good ideas. It was marred by bad netcode and some really weird balance stuff but the game itself was a ton of fun, and I got a shadow of the reason so many people have such fond memories of it.

The characters all really felt individual and interesting. Even the low tier, or bad characters had powerful dirt and a ton of interesting shit. Everyone I played felt extremely unique and like they had a roll to fill. Grundy is one of the most interesting characters I have ever played in a fighting game and his design was/is incredible. Martian Man Hunter is super fun and has a really neat kit, etc.

I was really iffy about Injustice 2. NRS/WB shafted me (and other PC players) pretty thoroughly with MKX and the original netcode shafted everybody, so originally I planned to skip the game because I just didnt want to reward a company that had basically taken my money, shrugged and said 'yeah, sucks huh? Bye' and dipped out leaving me with an unplayable, unpatched and worthless game for close to a year.. but then XL dropped and even though it was way too late for me to really enjoy MKX, they fixed the netcode and they made a ton of (what i felt) were positive changes. I came back and tentatively checked things out, because the fact is, NRS makes brings more production value to a game than most companies can even dream about. MKXL is a beautiful, visceral and violent gem. The sound design alone is one of my favorite things in gaming..

So, I decided to give them another chance and I came back for MKXL. The result was I enjoyed the game and the changes and so decided to check out Injustice to get an idea about Injustice 2 - and Im glad I did. In injustice I saw the same attention to detail, wonderful sound design and over-all personality that i saw in MKX. If NRS can take the.. I dunno, optimism and will and personality and kind of weird, violent exuberance of MKX and Injustice 1 and couple that to their amazing production and sound design and pull it all together with a game that's competitively balanced and deep - and I think its a real possibility that they can - then Injustice 2 will be something extremely special, and I for one, would like to be a part of that.

Cool man, just a question, in injustice there's only 3 attack buttons right? Light, medium, heavy?

man I feel for bonchan nash just give the character his mobility back and fix his antiairs already

this is why there's no zoning in sfv its a garbage strategy where you work twice as hard for twice the risk just pick cammy and divekick until it works out lul

but u know guise every time im in jump in range I have to immediately jump in or do random ex moves he'll never see it coming lul and if i don't win the game like this it's not because I have no neutral it's just zoning/guile/1 chracter must be so gdlk and my character must lose the matchup lul

Ok got it thanks dude. As an Akuma player, what's one buff you'd give him in the next patch? I know he's getting 900 health but would 950 be asking for too much?
I don't think he needs any buffs to be viable, he's imo one of the best balanced characters in the game right now. I'd be lying if I said I didn't wanna see some buffs to raging demon though, I don't think it should drain his whole trigger and I'd like to see him be able to do it out of trigger.

If I had to choose a buff to give him just to make him top tier with one change I'd say give him his neutral and jump back fireballs back. You wanna see some zoning? Cause akuma would dumpster everyone pretty hard if he had those back imo.

Interesting, I think aside from his low health I'd like his fireballs to go full screen like the rest of the shotos, and his red fireball to have less recovery. That would be awesome.
