Can someone give some insight on the Baraka matchup please? I dont have much Skarlett experience and I really need a confirmation for the community matchup chart. I have it at 4-6 Baraka right now, like I said any insight would be very helpful.

Skarlet is an Anti Keep away character, as long she has super, no one dares to spam projectlies on screen do build meter ^^

I never faced a Baraka before, but stay away from him might possibly be a good idea.

vs Cage 5-5?

All I seem to run into online are Cages now a days. Fuck Cage!

I've been using F+4,3. to keep a solid distance from him. It has a huge hitbox and can keep him out. The only normal that cage has to close distance is F+4, I think it is. Skarlet's f+4,3 shuts it down every time. Also good AA.

The desperate cage's have been trying a red/green kick, watch those. block/duck on reaction. Uppercuts or punish accordingly. At very least you can respond with a red dash slide.

Zoning from Cage... teleport/armor slides. I think we're okay here.

You can use random dagger cancels to red dash slides to keep opponent in check. If you want to try and apply pressure after its kinda up to you after you get the knock down. You can always jump back and repeat.

Getting out of Cage's F+3... mash D+3 or armor through with a red dash, down slash into your BnB from here

I think Skarlet needs to take a defensive position in this match up. She has the tools for a 5-5, just needs to be played smart.

After Skarlet knocks Sektor down with Red Slide she can stuff out all of Sektor's wake-ups including tech roll by doing another Red Dash, delayed Red Slide. This means Sektor must block another Slide and after blocking, he can't do 1, 2 because they will whiff if Skarlet crouch blocks.

A prop on the stage of life.
The major rumors inlude:

1) No pushback on block on first dagger. Pushback instead added to second dagger.

2) Daggers cancel window is increased. That is, she is not able to toss daggers as fast as she currently is. The recovery on the daggers remain the same, though.

She is a top 10 character at the moment. If nerf #1 happens, life is still good. No big deal. If nerf #2 happens, she is dropping a tier in my opinion. Essentially, her keep away game will be worse. As will be her ability to build meter.

She is not exactly an easy character to use. She requires some time getting used to. Just wait until the patch before you proceed practicing. You may be wasting your time if NRS tones her down severely because there may be superior zoning characters out there.
You mean make her dagger cancel longer? Shit they don't do as much damage as a normal projectile and whiff high. I'm not advocating either way here, but I for one might stop using her if #2 is correct. If the dagger cancel window is increased it could be done in two ways: increase the recovery before she can cancel(this would fuck up her juggles 9 ways from Sunday), or make is so she can't do the dagger again for a few extra frames upon cancel. If it had to happen, I'd definitely go with that route. Of course its all speculation. I must say I don't win my matches by dagger cancels, although it is funny when someone tries to jump the first one and gets hit on the way down by the second. Pushback changed like you said is a non-issue, as the person should be trying to get past her daggers anyway, not block them.

Just had like a 5 hour session with Grolarbears and GuamoKun lol. I'll just post my experiences with them. (These were online matches)

Noob:
- Shadows are hard to react to with EX Red Dash (for me).
- Anytime you jump over a shadow, throw an air dagger (far) to prevent Noob's teleport. Try to throw it so it hits his head.
- Up Slash whiffs on Noob when he does Up Knee.

Cyber Sub-Zero:
- Skarlet can't throw daggers cuz it's a bad trade with Ice Ball.
- Meter is mainly used for EX Red Dash to counter Ice Ball or bombs.
- Blood Ball can stop Slide and Parry wake-ups.
- Parry HURTS when he does it in the middle of Skarlet's pressure.
- Same thing with Noob: If you jump over an Ice Ball throw an air dagger (far).
- D4 stuffs Parry but Red Slide doesn't.

I'm curious what are some optional mind games you guys use to keep pressure when they are blocking?

You know how characters like JC mix up his strings to keep you guessing (I know he has frame traps). But I'm just curious of ways to keep my opponent guessing and cared to poke me/jump out of block.

all I ever do at the moment is just do a string and EX dagger cancel into more stuff, or normal dagger cancel and back away hoping to bait an approach.

I want to keep the pressure though if possible.

Fake Red Slide by not doing it after a Red Dash. Then you can go for another blockstring or throw. Your opponent can still poke out (like Johnny Cage's strings). D4, Red Dash is also good. If you end a combo with 1, 1, 2, Red Dash you can do 1, 1, 4, Red Dash (with good timing). Your opponent will have to guess twice whether you will EX Down Slash, Slide, or blockstring. After 1, 1, 2 if they block high you can confirm 1, 1, 4 into EX Dagger into another blockstring.

Is there a reason for EX overhead instead of regular overhead? Is the regular too slow and reactionable or something?

I know about the 1,1,4 EX dagger blockstring.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah regular Down Slash is slower and can be fuzzy guarded on reaction. EX Down Slash comes out faster and can't be fuzzy guarded, making it a true 50/50.

Kenshi is so fucked when he is up close with Skarlet when Skarlet has meter.
He can't duck her F2121+2 string, not even when he lets go of block.
Its because he has a large hitbox, rayden also is on the same situation

D3 Dagger cancel to f2121+2 will possibly jail him

I know, I always try stuff out Kenshi because they might work on him.

Any Skarlet player got MU advice against Kung Lao?
Does down slash blow up his teleport or not?
If not I can just use uppercut, but why have 12% damage when you can get 30%.

AssassiN

downslash is too risky on teleport, its too slow imo
The only reason I ask about downslash is because it lowers her hitbox, for example against Cage when he does his low forceball you can slide and do downslash right before it will hit you and you'll get him giving you a free 30% combo into a reset :).

Hmm....I don't know, my brother is a kung lao main and the only way I can punish his teleports is by uppercut, unless you completely read the teleport thats another story

Now I'm thinking about using F4 + up/down slash, pretty sure his attacks whiff.

CSZ vs Skarlet....oh God I just DO NOT KNOW WHAT MAKES HER TICK!

Maybe you guys can provide insight on this weird MU?

Mosp

Except you. ;_;
This could be a Easy match for Mosp
Mosp was respecting Dive kicks, that is why you were all fruity with the Cross ups, NJP at the time CSZ crosses would have taken care of.
Also, Mosp had a good offensive, you were scare of it so you did use Icy counter to stop him, if i was Mosp i would use that as Advantage and do Blank Dashes to Bait icy Counter and then F4 to check you into 40% Resets
