There's a really annoying glitch in practice mode where Shujinko's meditate sound effect will continuously replay if you reset either when he's meditating or perhaps when he's about to teleport out. On PC for me.
yup this is happening to me, its very akin to the mavado sound glitch. Usually doesn't go away for awhile.
 
That sound bug appeared when they added Homelander. The repro is resetting while he's about to meditate or is meditating, which includes after punch/kick.

You can clear it by calling Shujinko and letting him meditate then dismiss him fully or let him finish. May take a couple tries if you accidentally made a symphony.

  • Shujinko will no longer take double damage during a specific window of Homelander's Flight Air Laser
  • Fixed Mimic: (Flight) Delay Ground Laser Eyes during Homelander mirror match counting as a flight cancel when used during a combo
  • Fixed Mimic: (Flight) Delay Ground Laser Eyes having incorrect momentum if repeatedly jumping over the opponent
  • Fixed issue with Shujinko performing Sub-Zero Slide having an incorrect animation if hitting opponent that has Tremor's Crystal Armor active
I wonder if someone's job at NRS is to just fix Shujinko bugs and issues lmao

Scorpion's new B3 jails into Apep Punch which is pretty nice for a mid, only works from about half range but that's pretty far for Apep Punch.

Also Li Mei's 124 with its advancing movement now but I don't know if that's the result of the patch or she always had that.

I like the idea of Shujinko having an ambush where he steals a string of the opponent for the full meter. Obvs some will be better than others as the nature of the kameo, but it would work similar to Goro punch walk ambush.
 
Managed to find Floyd with Conan/Shujinko, here's what he steals:

Half
dfK - Kopy Kat: Force Ball (nothing like Reptile's, doesn't appear to launch so I didn't try using it. Basing this from seeing Floyd use his and the move description) Keeps them standing, possibly plus enough to convert if in the corner? Might as well use Lightning Bolt instead.
dfKu - Borrow: Roundtrip - Rain super roundhouse side switch launcher.
dfKd - Steal: Lightning Bolt - Rain's classic lightning bolt launcher.

Full
dbK - Mimic: Wish You Were Here - Scorpion spear but faster and different vfx to suit Floyd.
dbKu - Purloin: The Wall - Erects a prismatic wall behind opponent. (Also didn't try this, wanted to spend the meter for killing Floyd but I imagine it's the same as his version)
dbKd - Flatter: Ice Ball - Its a very fast ice ball.

So he would dump full kam bar to ambush in and fire said string? I like it in theory but it would really depend on which string he takes from each character and whether he alters its frame data.
Easily could be obnoxiously good or just a gimmick, but having access to an ambush with a hitbox would be pretty huge for him in general, fundamentally shifting even, so I could see erring towards just giving him modest safe on block stuff that causes knockdowns instead of starting more combos. It would probably allow him to deal damage during back throws too, so I could see that being another reason to cap how this string interacts with combos.
NRS seems to really not want him having that kind of ambush, though, so I'd be really shocked if they did anything like that.


Tbh I just want him to get a single measly brutality.
 
Here is my current vibe/synergy list with Cage & Shujinko:
I almost picked up Johnny a while back just because of your enthusiasm towards the pairing, but I don't think he suits me. This is a pretty nice chart.

I've been really liking Conan/Shujinko. Not enough mu experience to put together a chart like yours yet; still getting cooked by plenty of the cast but Conan is scratching an itch I've been trying to reach for a long while with this game, along with Jinko's many buffs he's caught. (Ermac steals are always cracked, obviously)

It would be nice if Conan had a low starter but being able to easily restand all of my launches back into Ape Punch lets Conan take full advantage of Shujinko's own restand/crumple and scales the combo less so I can always end in Conan's restand which allows another Ape Punch.

With other characters getting this mid screen was tougher to make use of but jailing at +23 Conan can swing with any of his highs except f3 which works in the corner (though pretty tight) or just use a mid. His strings that end in duckable grabs can be filled with konquest kick or barb stance/some other special. If they tried to duck Conan's strings are timed just enough that Shujinko can be dismissed and resummoned to convert into full damage. Without meter or kameo bar Jinko gives minimum 350 damage from his humongous jab back into jailed restand, and depending on steals can get upwards of 50+% still without spending bar. If Konquest Kick hits mid screen I can still reach with dash jab or f2, though definitely trickier.
Conan's buttons are also plus enough on hit that raw followups into a stolen move actually connect when you're out of punch/kick range, so things like f2 tipper into spear will combo.

I've only just begun experimenting with this but if they're armoring through gaps I can call Shujinko's ambush with similar timing when he would appear during summons and block instead. Is this something you've already explored on Johnny? Do you find it useful?

Shujinko also always gives a decent anti-zoning tool against relevant match ups and so far the utility has been fitting Conan surprisingly well, such as being able to convert from really far launches using stolen moves to create opportunity which I found to be pretty difficult with other characters apart from Ashrah's f2.
Conan can pick up even full screen launches depending on match up. Also can reserve my meter for crucial moments than relying on it for damage, and the EX into EX thing Conan gets with EXdf1 is a real round clincher due to the godly restand.

This character is really getting me back into the game.

Yeah it would obvs depend on the string. In the same way now it depends on the special move you take. But it would be an interesting layer. Might be worth it for some matchups, not for others, which would be fine. The frame data on the move wouldn't really matter too much either if it's an ambush you'll be able to jail it as you're moving freely.
