I think from time perspective NRS will lean towards MK9 system with MKX features and next gen visuals. Unless they wanna go crazy and risk it with somethin' new. . .

i dont think the leap from mk9 to mkx was that big. ok maybe in comparison to other franchises, but what i consider a big leap would be 3d back to 2d mk (even though they kept some mechanics like the popup jump punch and enhanced specials).

for mkx i would like to have a slightly bigger screen, less easy openings and most important a replacement of the variation system by ingame-variation-switches like mk 5-7 (but the variation differences should be like in mkx).

Same, but that is kind of ironic considering your main, eh?
Aside from the dumpster fire that is the other two Erron variations, I like the idea as a whole for MKX. I cant be judge mental just based on Erron. There are some characters that have legit 3 variation arsenal, Sub, Mileena, Jaqui, etc.

This is a key distinction people need to start making. There's more to a story than just your character and your problems. People will judge a game, a meta or system on the basis of how one person or thing interacts with said system instead of the bigger picture. People need to learn to see past themselves.

But, in terms of overall balance, all that matters is the overall result. The bottom line is that this game is considerably more balanced than MK9 is.
There must be a reason why i didn't answer this post after, god forbid if anyone thinks MKXL bottom line back at that date was more balanced than MK9 botton line vs top characters, lol.

God no to basing it on mkx. I actually feel guilty when I beat someone at times cuz it's like you lost cuz you couldn't guess my 50/50s. I didn't feel this way in mk9.

For some reason, you added the qualifier "vs top characters." I never made any statement regarding which game was more balanced "vs top characters." I only ever (repeatedly) mentioned that I thought MKX was easily a more competitively balanced game, overall,.

What's the point of a random Krypt?
I hope MK11 is model after MK9, not MKX. Or maybe just do something new again. But don't base it of off MKX.

You said "the bottom line of MKX is more balanced than MK9", which is not true.

Damn vro, hadda mess with yo auntie
The game needs to be slowed down A TON! This game plays too fast. You have a run button where everyone runs faster than Sonic the Hedgehog, you have 0 whiff recovery divekicks or a charge in Sektor's case, teleports, fast advancing mids, half screen normals, low profiling advancing moves, Armor moves that take you from one side of the screen to the other, STOOOPID jump ins etc.

All this shit combined with safe mixes and pressure is OD. Way too much and kills neutral imo. You play neutral for like 3 seconds, you whiff something, your opponent runs from 1 side of the screen to the other faster than the in game timer can count off a full second (Obvious Hyperbole) and starts pressuring you or mixes you. Like bruh there's like maybe 3-5 MUs where the pace of the match is slowed down. This shit could be acceptable if there were good enough defensive options to compensate.

Variations should go away tbh. It's gotta be a NIGHTMARE to balance and what you end up with are 3 weaker versions of 1 character. Sometimes the variation system flat out doesn't work like with Sub-Zero or Predator. For the devs sanity and for our time when learning MUs, variations should go. Neat concept but very inconvenient for everybody.

Content wise MK9 or MKD are the best example for good memorable content and stages and MKDA is the best example for the Krypt and the Krypt unlockables. The story needs to be more like MK9 or MKD in tone. The way MKX's story plays out just feels like a whole lot of nothing. Just feels like your going through the motions and nothing really resonates or leaves any sort of meaningful impact. There also needs to be more development with these new characters in the story so that should something happen to them it makes you feel instead of "oh well they died... Whatever".

This game in general is just kinda not fun. Once you get passed the "Oh it's a new MK" and you've had the Fatalities beaten into your skull it gets old and not fun super fast.

Tldr: make a good game and not MKX. MKX isn't very good. :)

LaidbackOne

Scrubby nice guy
-no more fucked up hitboxes
-no more nonexisting hurtboxes
-no half screen normals without any whiff recovery. Why some of those can be whiffed and have no recovery? This clearly promotes button mashing like a fucking maniac.
-a bit less mixups? Im all for variety but MKX has a "bit" too much low/oh/throw possibilites .
-tone down the + on block frames. You really don't need stuff that jails into more pressure without using your brain for a second.
-no hard to blockables. Bullshit like that shouldn't exist.
-no low profiling mids, they are called mids for a reason.
-2 variations per character at MAX

Poof, MKXI is a perfect game.

- Sub-0s B2 on whiff
-the buffer window trying to input command normals after a crouch block and getting a freaking special instead.
-the half screen normals and strings
- low profiling safe d1s
- priority normals on air attacks
- priority normals safe strings
- inconsistency string that can or not launch
- characters with abysmal walkspeed with no strong points at all
- d1, d2, d3 or d4 into specials that can frame trap.
- Variation biased system
-guests
- huge blockstuns

1) Once more, the post you are referring to in no way makes any qualification regarding the top of the cast.

2) You may not think it is "true," but in my humble opinion, MKX is easily a more balanced game than MK9 is/was/or ever will be.

Kabal or whatever top character in MK9 lost to the bottom of the cast in MK9, but whatever, that's not the true point here.

You can hide behind your opinion as you like, but this isn't true, this game balance before the current patch was way abysmal compared to MK9

The good thing about MKX is that is has more options and more mechanics to work with, but the greatest sin committed by this game is these tools not working that properly to the point that jump attacks and the entire neutral had to be re-written in the last patch.

They just need to tone everything the fuck down.

I prefer universal JIP's

Less low profiling moves, no low profiling pokes.

I preferred the dash system tbh.

Less mixups, if it launches and breaks block low or high, it should be an easy punish. Every time. No b2 reptile subzero bs

MK9 absolutely shits on MKX. perfect blend of zoning and rushdown and a few characters have some 50/50s. The mechanics on MKX feel weird still and all my friends who casually played both feel like MKX is impossible to be decent at but they were decent at MK9 (yet the ceiling is still high)

EDIT::

Again, I'm still not sure how this is, in any way, shape, or form, relevant to what I originally wrote.

Fair perspective, but I happen to vehemently disagree. I'm also curious as to why my take on MK9 bothers you so much that you feel the need to elevate your opinion to the status of "truth."

I think MK9 was comically unbalanced by the end of its reign. My main reason for believing this is that many of the low tier characters simply had no shot. I think the lower and mid tier characters in MKX are generally far more competitive than they were in MK9.

I doesn't, its just your own assumption.

I just don't agree that MKX is balance is much different from MK9, specially from bottom characters having shot at competitive spectrum, its nearly the same thing.
