But in all seriously Lucky, this is a great idea. I'm not sure who's all playing MK9 from WI...so I'm just gonna throw this out there:

Are there any openings for Team Wildcard? Or Team PowerUp?

You can captain a team of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois if you can round some people up. I know some guys out there have to be playing.

I think we will try to keep it regional rather than just by state, so it should work out.

If we have people that deserve to play and don't have teams by the event we will make sure it works out.

It's still really great to see the hype in here. I hope all the MK players draw some glances from the SSFIV and MvC3 crowds and get some extra interest at PowerUp.

There is way more than 5 peeps from Ohio at a tourney in Ohio so Im just not gonna play in it either. So i'll recruit whomever i can, even if that means lots of txt msg's and picking peoples up from the airport etc LOL

We will give it about another week to see who gets confirmed for the tourney and figure out teams then.

It doesn't have to be a regional based tourney, since that's going to be a harder rule to stick to, but we will when possible.

The point is if we want to do round robin and do it in enough time (a few hours) we have to have teams decided before the event and we cant just let everyone in the venue play.

So let's do this, as long as the teams are confirmed and ready to go in this thread we will use those.

Having a couple teams from any state is fine.

What about a team TYM? Only mods from TYM on one team?

Bone and Bill are coming the furthest and by themselves, hence automatically being on team wildcard.

So some ideas:

- team Ohio

- team NY/East coast

- team TYM mods

- team noob (all players with no MK history who picked up the game with MK9)

- team powerup (decided on night of event from all stars who have done well in the MK9 singles tourney)

Anyone have any ideas or other thoughts.


The rules and format are set for this, but the teams are in no way finalized.

Post here if you have ideas or what you want to see.

I'm definitely down for the team, One person I KNOW will be good to as an option on the team Is TRKT. I dunno if you've ever met him but he's around AL a lot as well and plays UMK on the same level as me. Me and him started in the fighting game scene around the same time. *Edit* TRKT said he's down for the team if you guys need people.


So what's the team looking like?

Me ? Derrick? TRKT?(If it's cool) and who else? Have you asked Nick?Moses?Ghaleon?

I dunno who all will be playing mortal kombat but let's see what happens.
