Where the hell do you find the .exe file on a steam game? I'm losing my mind D:
Going off memory here, so it won't be perfect.

Look for a folder called "common" in you main steam folder. That should have the games. You should also be able to open local files for a game by right clicking the name and selecting something to open up the big options dialog. One of the tabs leads you to a way to get to the games files.

I know that's super vague, but maybe it's enough to get you there. Someone else can the specifics if not.

For mk I think the exe is in its binaries folder

It was actually enough, thank you

yes , then i rebooted my pc and voila. i had massive fps boost and my cpu usage went down big time. i tested with other games like i said and it worked. this is 100% a microsoft fuck up with windows 10 but again do not turn off Control Flag wide. just specific programs.
Good stuff man. As I mentioned, my performance has generally improved a lot with recent patches, but if I start having reoccuring issues again, I'll give this a whirl.

Wow, a full week behind console patch with such a game breaking bug as Forfeit glitch! I usually defend the devs but it totally destroys my Season 3 campaign in KL. And I couldn't get the Brutality I wanted even though we had the same tower as consoles but with no brutalities as reward, WTF is this? I know they promised it will be up for us but without a timetable it will be hard AF to catch it.

Unless this patch brings great improvements it'll be a major blow for the PC kommunity.

The new patch has made the performance for me back to the real good it was before the Nightwolf patch.

If it stays like this, I would consider it a great port. Animations are all smooth, menus load quick, game also closes a bit better.

A lot of issues when they happened are on their end it looks like as evidenced by the new patch...which means hopefully the great performance won't go away with another patch in the future.

It does feel more rock solid even now. My system struggles just a little to keep up with some of the 60FPS fatalities, but the main game seems console like smooth at the moment. Those 60FPS perks are super nice. That always stands out when I fire up the PC version after having played on PS4 for a bit.

Yeah, my CPU usage has gone way down since the last patch. Even when loading the game, it's not always at 100% anymore, and when it does go there overall, it's not there long.

I think they may have properly fixed things this time, at least for me.

Has there been any talk about there being stages that are more taxing than others? Seems like when I get matches in the Fire Garden it's not unusual for the game to drag a few frames. I don't think I'm having any local issues, but wonder if other people are on the performance line and when they land on that stage it drags a bit. It's happened enough times on that stage that I got my question marks going.

It's pretty common for fighting games on PC for some stages to work better than others. Benchmarks should be worst case scenario, but that may be hard to guarantee and may not be the same for every system. I know in IJ2 I was struggling to run it properly and had to dial down lots of stuff. The benchmark might score me differently depending on how the action played out and once I finally found something reliable for the benchmark, I started finding stages and even areas of specific stages that would cause slowdowns. After adjusting things down again, I would find other players with green FPS dragging in those same spots.

It's harder for me to tell with MK11 because I'm not fence riding that performance line like I was. It's not too hard to dodge all these strange people that are ok playing with red and yellow FPS ratings, but you can't avoid someone that may have just barely been able to get their green rating. I'm not sure I want to fight on the stage anymore, even though it's super cool to look at.

There are definitely performance differences from stage to stage. Stages with the worst performance for me are:

-Cyber LK Assembly
-Goro's Lair
-Lost Hive of the Kytinn
-SR Fire Garden
-Tank Garage Bunker

that sea/ship level (funny that it´s also the benchmark level) was really bad performance wise for me.

fortunately something fixed it. be it a new driver, new patch or integrity check.

I still get desyched often and there are cases that the game crashes to desktop with a message that a random file is "corrupted". All steam integrity checks return fine and the game runs immediately after, so what gives?? Anyone knows?? All drivers etc are up to date..

Ideally that's the whole point of making it the benchmark stage. You should be getting graded by the worst case scenario. If you can handle that then everything else should work out.

I'm not sure it is worst case though. Or that there is more to finding worst case than slapping two shader heavy characters on a intense stage.

yeah, but the benchmark results were good (green), but when i actually played on that stage the framerate dropped drastically.
i also had "micro-lags" during f333 juggle combos on all or most stages.

currently everything works fine, except a few desyncs and animation stuttering/skipping opponents online.

Yes, they did the same thing with Sky Temple in the last game.

Anyone else having issues with the game getting stuck on the splash screen after updating?

Currently validating file integrity.

No, I didn't need to Validate this time myself. Simply launched the game post-patch and everything is working fine for me.

Interesting thing for everyone to know: I picked up an Xbox One X last week, found a good deal on it. I also subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, of which Mortal Kombat X is a part.

I downloaded Mortal Kombat X over night and have been toying with it this morning. The interesting thing for you all to know: It often crashes on start up. This is on the Xbox One X. This is the first-party-developed version of a well established, four and a half year old game.

Apparently with the franchise, the PC isn't the only platform with issues.

Not sure if it's oft crashing due to something with Game Pass or not, but it usually takes a few launches for it to properly get me into the game. I'm also rusty AF; really play so differently from Mortal Kombat 11.

Character models seem to load noticeably faster in this patch, in case anyone was curious. You can actually see your custom gear/skin on the char select screen without waiting for like 6 whole seconds for it to load
