You don't look so bad in this light.
MK11's single player content was a disaster? SFV's launch content defines disaster in that context. Accusing MK of it doesn't sound grounded. And I for one am enormously glad the game wasn't "exciting" as I really enjoyed it because it wasn't the cracked out, hijinks filled mayhem game some people wish it was. Exciting is super subjective and it's super untrue that MK11 was a bad game nobody liked despite how much time and effort people spent spitting on it the whole time.

I'm kind of glad the angry mob can just move on to tear down some other game and company instead.
Where were you at launch? On the moon? Krypt and towers were a fiasco.

I think that the majority of the community has already put the game to rest. LOL. I cannot recall the last time that Rooflemonger uploaded a Mortal Kombat 11 video and most videos on TrueUnderDawg's YouTube channel include the "most broken..." series. Ketuchup and Mustard have recently been uploading Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and Sub Zero Mythologies videos for crying out loud. Look at the results of this thread's poll and also look at the results of Scar's poll created one month ago.

The reality is that the developers never addressed the issues that the community had with this game. Time will treat Mortal Kombat 11, if time has not done so already, as a gameplay blunder and failure in my opinion.
But did you ever pay Dittle his money tho?

RIP in Pieces Havik, Sareena, Kai, Reiko, Nitara, Li Mei

guess we'll never see them appear playable again, since MK12 will be another total reset of the universe
Sareena! :(:(:( at least I have Raiden. And I'm having Sooooo much fun with the character! despite his flaws I think it's the best he ever looked and voice is perfect. That's the best part about mk11 to me. And when they buffed him :) I miss sareena tho and Reiko might have to get MK:A in the meantime.

Think I waited a day or two, then was playing Krypt and towers. Maybe my delay getting it was longer than I recall, or maybe I just got the lucky roll and didn't notice.

I do remember not fully understanding why they needed to tone down the modifiers.

I enjoyed the game, will continue to enjoy it. People wanted more but it had the most post-release content of any NRS title by far.. I mean I was begging for a MK9 story mode DLC and they did that for MK11 plus a ton of characters. They polished the game up more than people give credit for.

Felt like there was more that could have been touched up but I think they are leaving the game in a well balanced state with a ton of stuff to enjoy.

I imagine I'll still have fun playing the game 20 years later if I come across it, easily one of the best MK games

She will probably come eventually since her and havik would make nrs money

Now I wonder if it was true at all that Sareena was being worked on before being replaced by Mileena?

That's great but I think many people think the game still has a lot of potential for more balance changes, characters, content in general. Imagine if for once we had an expansive MK with a much longer life cycle and multiple seasons. I just think that saying "it had the most post-release content of any NRS title" feels a bit conformist, when they could easily do more (isn't it the most successful FG franchise?)

Of course they're done with MK11, they were done with it a long time ago. I love how they didn't speak for months and when they finally announce something it's to say that they have nothing left to announce.

MK11 maybe had the longest "support" of all NRS titles, it doesn't mean it was any good. And by "longest" support, they probably meant one year (even less) of support stretched over two years and a half. They released all the Aftermath and KP2 characters in one sitting so they wouldn't have to make a patch everytime a character would be released just like the KP1. Because well they would spend less money fixing and balance their game.

And even when they released a patch it was just the laziest changes you could think of : removing one frame here and there on moves nobody complained about, leaving the broken characters untouched because they are NRS' protégés, etc... And let's not forget the 50HP buffs and nerfs, because of course it's easier and it takes less time to change a variable from 1000 to 950 rather than to actually think on how to nerf a move. It took them like 8 months to fix the ridiculous Sheeva stomp but at the minute where a player rightfully mocked NRS balance he was banned from any tournament going forward.

No wonder why NRS games are the laughing stock of the entire FGC, and they deserve it.

I regret giving WB money on this game, at least I expected the "support" to compensate for the awful state of the game on release but no. I won't buy their next product, they have no respect for the customer and I have no interest to buy another game where the only working part on release is the in-game store with MTXs, Day one DLCs and Season passes. I have no fucking interest in another grinding nightmare where we must spend hours to unlock a color swap and a fucking online casino... oh sorry, online "Kasino" to unlock stuff that we already paid with the game but we have to pay or pray the RNG to unlock it in less than two months.

We all die alone. So love yourself before you go.
Personally I am not surprised and pretty indifferent about this news. MK11 is a very fun game, but they didn’t handle the way of this game correctly. The game had no news or updates for months. I think it’s better this way even though it sucks.

My initial response to this would be to read the rest of my post past the part you quote

It was obvious after Ultimate dropped and still we got no changes to unusable abilities...

Anyway, since Strive came out, don't care. I'm just glad they admitted it already. Even if 'OVER 2 YEARS OF SUPPORT' is some Boon-level trolling.

I will always see MK11 as a prime example of “wasted potential”. Could have easily been regarded as the best NRS game of all time. But it is what it is, no reason to sulk, time to move on.

Well, it's nice they confirmed it, but they should have confirmed it after they dropped the last balance patch/ character updates. I'm not upset about it because this happens often where things are left on a story that might have been or could have been, but nothing anyone can do. I really wish for future titles changes or expanding the meta doesn't take over a year to happen.

I like the game and luckily for me, I wasn't playing it with the hope of "one more patch" in mind. I plan on sticking with this because I keep learning the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Baraka and Jade play how I wanna play so that's all I can ask for at this point. I enjoy playing the game against other people still and am excited to play without worrying about meta changes.

I'm also hopeful we will see an announcement of this new project with a Summer 2022 release. These four year gaps for MK are always something.

Psh, and here I was hoping they’d make some custom moves not completely and utterly useless.
This part actually annoys me though because even as a fan of the game, it comes off as very lazy, anemic and wrong. Some custom moves were balanced but most were just left to rot and this just says customs should have been legal day one cause maybe they would have brought them up to code. It really is one of the biggest blunders of the game and bothers me to no end.

Only consolation for me is Baraka and Jade loadout options are dope and I can make them actually play how I want, but man.....

smh missed opportunity well on to the next title can't wait to see how the next game get's shitted on:laughing:
I'll see you at the next tournament and look forward to seeing you in the next timeline mate:
