man wtf happened wit noobs d1 nrs released patch notes about it .. said theymade it six frames ITS NOT , why lie about a d1 it makes no sense
It wasn't there patch notes. reo, myself and a few others assumed it was 6 frames but it never was changed. Placebo effect.

D1 does not need to be 6 frames. At this stage of mk9 a lot of d1's are punishable on block and were starting to see that on streams where a d1 is blocked and someone responds with a counter poke afterwards. D3's are a lot more viable and noobs d3 is one of the best in the game. Its 7 frames, like most, but its reach is pretty good.

Fun fact about MK9: If you have a decent D3, you don't need a good D1. A good D1 is always an asset, but it's not COMPLETELY necessary. Sektor's D1 is terrible, and he manages just fine.

Anyway, Noob doesn't need a damage buff, he just needs better juggles. I honestly think EX tackle should just give him back the MKT/UMK3 tackle, where his shadow would run out, grab his opponent and fling them back at Noob for a combo. It would mean that Noob could spend meter to get up to, say, even a 35% combo. I mean, let's face it, EX tackle is absolutely useless as-is, and Noob having one meter combos in the 35% range would be far from broken.

I also think EX slide would actually be worthwhile if it just left them standing, like the normal slide, but gave him a safe jump on hit. Again, far from broken, but it'd give Noob a decent offensive option and he'd have SOME reason to spend meter on this.

Noob's saibot or noob saibot's?
if noob had a decent wake up attack i wouldnt be so hesitant to spend meter on his combos (which go over 40% midscreen btw)
so a damage buff aint on de top of my wishlist
Hitoshura i was convinced i seen it on the patch notes they released but i wont argue ive de memory of a goldfish;)

i should also add the higher damage ones all come from portals which i base my play around so i just consider them combos

Only reason I say damage buff is b/c if this truly is the LAST PATCH then making these changes could cause problems. if they dnt get the animation right for the EX tackle or w/e right and has problems or adds more glitches with noob. were stuck until MK10. I kinda don't want tht

I like that Ex tackle idea.

I think Ex teleslam giving you a pop up would be sweet as well.

We aren't getting another patch at all, just a hotfix. These are just what I think Noob needs overall, in the next game if need be.

I've been confused about the cancelling advantage for some time, so I figured I'd clear it up now by just asking a practical question:
1 - +18

Shadow Upknee - +4

Shadow Upknee - 16

So, if 1 has a cancelling advantage of +18 and I cancel into Shadow Upknee which is 16 frames, am I just left at the +4 that upknee is left at or more?

It seems like I would only be at +4 from Upknee, but I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. Thank you. Apologies if it is a dumb question.

Do you know how many frames the blackhole is active and can suck somebody through it?

It's from the last attack only. And I just added what both upknees are on block from max range (+10 and +11) so it's between +4 and that. :)
Thank you for your speedy response and all the work you do with frame data, Somberness.

I simply have one last question: What is the point in knowing the cancel advantage a string has? Is it just to know if there will be gaps when you cancel to a move out of a string?

I've got up to 85, but I think it could be maybe 1 more. It's just hard to get it that precise.

Yes, it's to know how safe something is.

+ 10 max range? how can i use this to my advantage ??

i mean if they are far away they will recover the moment i get to them which means i can kiss my pressure goodbye, right?

Not necessarily. Noob's d4/d3 also have good range, so if we can find the way to consistently get +10/+11, worst case scenario would be d3/d4 for more advantage and pressure. Theory, of course.

Or if your max range +10 you can throw a tackle/slide from tht distance b/c it be rlly hard to see it coming and with the +10 your opponent can't jump it in time

iplayed a noob online that used that mix up. upknee tackle... he got me the first couple of times but it was an easy read mix up...sure noobs fireballs r really fast up close but i dont see it.... off line seems like begging for a full combo punishment(fyi it wasnt that easy on-line...)

tacke is 11 frames up close, at sweep dist(upknee max range kinnda) id say 12 or even 13 frames taking 3 frames to leave the floor i dont think you can in fact jump out of it... you can keep on blocking tho...

But at tht range its hard to punish noob unless you have a certain special move that can like superman, bionic arm, etc.

Noob
its hard to punish a blocked tackle(-21 frames)? at sweep distance.

why would you need a superman move when its a matter of a free jump in combo.... dont get me wrong i was the first one to say it wasnt that easy on line.... 8% vs a full midscreen combo....noobs trading options...
