What's new

MKX EO throws are now reactable

I still don't understand how defending throws work. People say here all the time to just neutral duck them so you don't have to guess but then when I watch tournaments I always see techs instead.

Olay I've said this in a thread a couple of days ago and have not seen anybody else say it( atleast to my knowledge, I'm sure it has being said)
So I thought I put up a video of evidence

The window feels fairly generous maybe 23-25 frames (guessing obviously)

Now I don't fully know how I feel about this yet but I accept it

Before anybody saids "you still have to guess" look at it this way, if you are in ir near the corner of course you can to try and tech the corner throw because if they throw you out it works in you're favour

The only time the 50/59 side of it comes into place is if you are completely mid screen or on the blink of death.
A lot of people will teaching by accident mashing as the window is bigger

As I said I'm not complaining I welcome, Accept and learn to adapt to it.

Just thought I'd post evidence :D

What are you guys opinion on this?

Edit: obviously is going to be harder to do in a real match looking out for other attacks and letting go of block at the same time, but I have done it, it definitely is possible once you prepare for it
I'm not sure I understand the change... If you are holding block when the attacker begins his throw animation, can you now unblock and tech on reaction? Or do you still have to pre-emptively unblock and then try to tech (but now the window is bigger)?

Am I the only one who welcomes this change?

Tempest Lao can get fucked. He has enough going for him, though it might be a hindrance to other characters.

Either way, it's enough you have to guess on a throw so opening the tech window is a good decision imo.

hmm I noticed they felt somewhat slower(teching window). But I thought it was just that offline feel lol. Nice to know.

Yep it means you have enough time to let go of block and tech the throw on reaction

i dunno, is there a change or something? can someone elaborate? I've been able to tech throws in the beta only cuz I thought its easier to react etc

I mean what is the exact reason to go for a throw tech instead of neutral duck? Both require you to let go of block so its not like one is faster than the other
Basically your not reacting to a throw when you neutral duck it's a hard read not a reaction

But let's say you stay block thinking a stagger is coming but they throw now even though you waited for s normal a throw came instead that you can now tech on reaction

Normalize grab immunity.
How many other people feel everyone is still going to get thrown? I can't be the only one. Nobody doesn't get thrown. And seeing how you have to stop blocking that's just asking for 30+% to the face. Even now if I read throw against Jax or KL or whoever else I'm still scared shitless of everything else they could be doing instead.

You are making it sound like a read when it's not

You see throw then let go of block and tech it, there is no letting go of block before hand, now obviously is not easy to tech throws every time even the best players will be throwing like they where in Injustice, but the theory is proven to be possible
